Video: More Bella’s Wedding Dress Outtakes

Summit entertainment just released some more footage and facts about Bella’s wedding dress:

Here are some interesting facts about the wedding dress:

Stephenie Meyer & Director, Bill Condon selected this design out of ten sketches that Ms. Herrera submitted.
The wedding dress is handmade and took Ms. Herrera and four seamstresses six months to complete.
The wedding dress was custom fit for Kristen Stewart.
The dress is made out of crepe satin and French Chantilly lace
152 buttons line the back of the dress and there are 17 buttons on each sleeve
Ms. Herrera designed the back of the dress to be a surprise, and she considers it very romantic.
Ms Herrera plans to include the design in her 2012 collection and it will be available at her CHNY boutiques next year.
The estimated value of Bella’s wedding dress is $35,000.
The bridal dress company Alfred Angelo will be selling a replica of the dress in select stores retailing at $799.

  1. This dress was beautiful, so perfect for Kristen, not just for Bella.

  2. Interesting how she designed the dress and then the making of it. All those buttons. Thanks for posting this.

  3. The other store is suppose to be selling it for around $500 or so I heard.

  4. I loved the dress; its perfect!

  5. Lisa Anne Labriola says:

Sorry, I did not like the dress. The style was wrong for Edwards time line. I also felt the lace looked very rough and dry, there are thousands of laces available around the world, I felt she made a bad choice. Kristen did look great in the dress that’s the honest truth, but I truly pictured Bella in a very up to date, traditional style gown and her hair put up in a more fitting manner . I am twilight saga fan.. I’ve read all the books 9 times.. saw all the movies countless times. ( breaking dawn twice, so far lol) 🙂

    • I kind of agree. It’s a pretty dress, but more 1930s style than 1918, which was disappointing. From the back it’s fine, but I dislike the front.

  6. I really loved the dress myself. Having looked at alot of the dresses from the early 1900’s, some of them would have looked pretty ridiculous if they had tried to put them on Kristen. This was a nice compromise. It has a very classic 1930’s or 40’s look to it with a modern twist. The lace is very beautiful and I found it to be kind of old fashioned and traditional. Very pretty. I am already a fan of Carolina Herrara’s work, and now I’m an even bigger fan.

    • Agreed Anna. The gown was, is stunningly beautiful. Very simple lines, but cut so feminine. It fit Kristin like a second skin, but it moved beautifully. No clinging. The crepe satin material is so soft, and having that slight bit of texture about it, is more befitting the “from another age” look. The multitude of buttons is just the right touch to touch on that point as well. The chantilly lace work is breathtaking, and the “Swan” design is a beautiful, surprising homage to the character of Bella. Whom in her own right, is a very unique girl, whom loves to dissapear into classic novels of romance. I also love the simple vs swan (front vs back), referring to our Bella whom sees herself as “nothing special”, and yet blooms into a beautiful young woman, and eventually a stunning Vampire.

  7. EdwardsNana says:

Personally, I don’t think anyone could wear this beautiful wedding dress like Kristen Stewart did and standing next to Robert Pattinson, didn’t hurt the view………It was breathtaking to see those two at the altar. show more show less

  8. why isn’t bella wearing her engagement ring on her left hand? shes wearing a silver band instead of the ring edward gave her. i thought in the book she wore the engagement ring as her wedding ring….

  9. Holy cow that’s A LOT of buttons! Good thing Alice’s fingers can’t get blisters. 😉

  10. Lynne Stringer says:

My goodness, they were all real buttons, too! It must have taken forever to do them all up!

  11. Wow. This was a $35,000 dress? I have to say, I was underwhelmed with it. All the hype about it turn out to be nothing. I’m sure it’s very pretty in person, but what looks good in person doesn’t always translate well to film.

  12. Since it was made especially for Kristen, does she get to keep it? LOL (I’d want to save it for when I married the REAL Edward Cullen! (Rob))

  13. Beautiful! I think Carolina Herrera nailed it.
I also want to give mention to Bella’s wedding shoes, the Manolo Blahnik swan crystal pumps, perfect choice.

  14. Bella looks amazing in her wedding dress and Edward looks very dapper.

  15. Having read this I believed it was really enlightening. I appreciate you taking the time and effort to put this article together. I once again find myself spending a lot of time both reading and leaving comments. But so what, it was still worth it!
