Kellan Lutz Confirms Arm Wrestling Scene in Breaking Dawn

We think it’s fair to say we won’t see this until November 2012, since it will most likely be in part 2, but who cares…it’s in!

  1. Cathy Banks says:

  2. Jennifer says:

Yay! That’s one scene I am most looking forward to.

  3. YES! I’m sooo happy they’re including it! Definitely one of my faves from the book. Can’t wait to see it.

  4. That ought to be hi-lar-ious. Seeing a huge guy like Kellan get totally owned by some skinny girl like Kristen. Can’t wait!

  5. Kathryn says:

Weeeeeellllll…the scene has been shot. That doesn’t mean it will be in the movie. After the first three (although Eclipse wasn’t bad) I’m not going to hold my breath about anything.

It will be a shame if they cut anything, though, since they insisted on making 2 films. Any cuts will cause riots among fans.

  6. If they actually include it in the theatrical release it should be epic.

  7. I’m really excited to see it. I thought Kellan actually added a lot of the funny moments to Eclipse. I guess that’s the whole purpose to Emitt’s character: to add light-hearted moments to something serious….

  8. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be in part 2. You have to have some lighthearted moments in the film, before the confrontation with the Volturi. So seeing the Bella vs. Emmett arm wrestling scene should be as funny as it was in the book. It was one of the most memorable moments and one of the most talked about. They sort of teased it in the Eclipse film last year, when Bella mentioned she’d be strong enough to take him on. So there’s no way they’d pass up a golden ticket scene like that and it ended up on the cutting room floor.

    • Kathryn says:

I’m with you !00%. I see no reason for them to cut that scene. But then, I see no valid reason for cutting a lot of scenes in a lot of movies. The only tease that would have absolutely guaranteed the arm wrestling scene is an actual reference to Bella flat out challenging Emmett to a contest of strength.

They could be editing the movie and find that the pacing is off. Or it could interrupt the flow of the story. Or it just flat out doesn’t work and there isn’t time for reshoots. There are any number of reasons for directors to cut a scene. And it wouldn’t be the first time that a director cut a fan favorite.

  9. I’m so excited. It was one of my must haves for the BD films to come to life. Love it.

  10. Hooray!!!
