Box Office Mojo According to Box Office Mojo " Twilight, which eased four percent to an estimated $4.5 million. With $176.8 million in 45 days, the vampire romance will surpass Interview with the Vampire when adjusted for ticket price inflation."  In other words, no matter how you slice it, Twilight is the most successful vampire film of all time.

 According to Rotten Tomatoes, "The high school vampire drama Twilight dipped only 5% to an estimated $4.5M to boost Summit’s cume to a remarkable $176.8M. On Monday, the teen love story will surpass the $176.9M of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa to become the seventh biggest blockbuster of 2008 and it will become the highest-grossing hit since The Dark Knight."  Now we get to gloat a little bit that our prediction of where Twilight would land was accurate.

Summit’s summary of New Moon is making the rounds in on various media sites. It’s the type of soundbite description that is place holder text until trailers and such come out.

Here are a couple of items that don’t really go with anything else, but they are interesting.

It seems that E! has only just caught on that there is Twilight merchandising, and they featured (of all things) the perfume currently being offered by Hot Topic. Amazingly the existence of the 1,000’s of tee shirts, jewelry, dolls, and calendars has eluded them. In any case, it seems the idea for the perfume, or at least its container isn’t exactly original.

Thanks to Serena, we have some coverage from Philippines over the false rumors of Twilight being made into a TV series, and DeCode getting airtime. 

MTV has a round up of the upcoming 2009 films featuring the stars of Twilight.

RUMOR MILL: We would like to know the fate of Taylor Lautner in upcoming movies as much as anyone; however, a report citing an E! story that Taylor is "safe in his job and Michael is a rumor" is 100% false.  Someone is merely recirculating roughly three week old footage that came out prior to the news that Taylor was fighting for his role. To date Taylor’s fate in future Twilight movies remains unknown. As soon as we know, you’ll know.

Robert Pattinson came in second in the Celebrity Love Awards on Popstar. You’ll also notice that Stephenie, Kellan, Taylor, and other Twilight names made the list. According to Popstar, "Our contest runs every year.  The Jonas Brothers had a head start last year since they were involved from the very beginning.  It wasn’t until the Summer that the Twilight fanbase started to participate in the contest, so I think it speaks volumes about Rob’s popularity on the site; he was very close to coming in first place.  It would be great if you asked your visitors to participate early this year."  So, we are letting you all know! Let’s get Rob up there for 2009!
