Hot Topic Thriving Due to Twilight

This article shows how for the first time in several years Hot Topic had a sussessful last quarter, and they attribute it all to Twilight.

And of course, Hot Topic has new Twilight items including a Lion and Lamb Sweatshirt, a locket, and trading card collection.

Twilighters Around the World

We’ve been noticing a lot of increased traffic to our site from places around the globe. Pel was once quoted in an article saying, "People visit us from every continent except Antarctica." For all we know, maybe they are logging in from there at one of the research stations.

In any case articles like this and this from the United Arab Emirates show how Twilight is truly universal.

The Lexicon’s biggest countries on each continent based on our most recent stats are:
South America: Uruguay
Africa: South Africa
Asia: Philippines
Oceania: Australia
North America(not counting USA): Mexico
Europe: Great Britain

Update From Kaleb Nation

As many of you know, Kaleb has been having what could probably best be described as technical difficulties or a huge misunderstanding with YouTube (We understand, we had to explain to a former webhost that we weren’t a porn site because he had only seen porn sites pull in the kind of traffic volume that we do.). Kaleb explains the status of the Robert Pattinson Contest of Awesome in the video. After you watch the video, stop by and give Kaleb a cyber hug, he sounds like he needs one.

Here is the link to the video which is not letting us embed it.

Morning News

The Peninsula Daily News has a story on the mystery of the disappearing gas cap.  It seems someone took the chrome gas cap from Bella’s truck.

Twilight has a large fan following in Ireland.  So much so that it has the top five sales spots in the Nielsen Bookscan.

The start of 2009 may be remembered for sucking the life out of retailers, but in the bookshops a series of teenage vampire books has bucked the trend and set a new record for sales.

Dear Book Lover answers a question about Twilight and offers some other suggested reading.

Publisher’s Weekly has an article on Another Series with Bite.  Vampire Academy has filled the void left by the Twilight Saga and even used its popularity to gain a larger following by running ads on Twilight’s IMDb pages.

The casting agent for Native Americans casting is now in place.  If you fill the description of what they are looking for this might be worth your while. Please note, this agent is not casting ANY OTHER ROLES. She has no influence on those parts, the script, anything other than what she has specifically been hired to do. Please note how it asks interested parties to follow instructions TO THE LETTER, attention to detail counts.

A reporter covering Sundance will be interviewing Kristen Stewart  and other stars. She wants some question ideas from fans. TY to Ali.

No More Marbles & Evil Iguana

So if you are in the Midwest and Northeast and frozen indoors, here’s something to do tonight. No More Marbles and Evil Iguana Productions are joining forces on BlogTV.

Twilight Cast News

Kristen Stewart finally got her own People page!  It’s a good thing because her new film, Adventureland, is getting some pretty major buzz over at the Sundance Film Festival.

Catherine Hardwicke is among the friends of the late Heath Ledger who commented on the actor’s life in an EW retrospective as the one-year anniversary of his death approaches. Catherine’s comments start on page 10 and then continue on various pages throughout the article.

Edi Gathegi has had a number of interviews that mention his role in the Twilight movies as well as his current project, My Bloody valentine.

Just Jared has more pictures of Kellan and Ashley Greene (who looks like 15 in the photos with her hair like that) on the set of their new project, The Warrior.

ContraCoastTimes Jackson Rahtbone’s appearance tonight is canceled because he is off filming an episode of Criminal Minds.

Kristen Stewart Dolled Up

The same dollmaker that did the Rob dolls a couple of weeks ago has now released their Kristen Stewart doll. It’s a pretty good likeness.  Check out their site and make your own.

Kristen, if you are reading this, we appologize if our graphic has you in an outfit you wouldn’t be caught dead in. There weren’t a lot of Teen Vogue type of choices.

New Moon Rising

ReelzChannel has just come up with a New Moon quiz. It’s not your typical media outlet quiz. They definitely did some research on this one.

They are also planning some fabulous New Moon coverage and want help from the fans. So some of what they want to know is covered in the polls below. Let them know what you think by voting and commenting, no never know who they may decide to quote.

Kristen Stewart Cartoonized

The team over at Cartoonize the World had a fabulous response to their Robert Pattinson cartoon. Lots of people commented and many asked if they could do other Twilight actors. Not only did they do Kristen Stewart, but they also did a Kristen and Robert wallpaper you can get if you sign up to be one of their email subscribers.

They are also hinting at more goodies to come, so definitely check them out and let them know that you appreciate their work, and who you might like to see cartoonized.
