Robert Pattinson Preps For Oscars

Rob has been getting back into the swing of things in Los Angeles after taking an extended breather back home in England.  He has Saturday’s hush, hush Oscar rehearsal to look forward to.  It’s the biggest mystery in Hollywood this year as to who is presenting what award, and unbelievably, nothing has really leaked. Bruce Vilanch gives only a few hints as to what he has in store for us.

So, before Rob gets “Edwardized” again with the perfectly groomed hair, eyebrows, clothes…you get the idea, what look do you think he’ll go for at the Oscars? Clean shaven, or a bit of scruff?

MTV Debuts Image For New Moon

Looks like we guessed right. MTV has the image that debuted on ET earlier tonight. MTV points out that they have included the words “The Twilight Saga” as part of the titling now.

One minor correction to the MTV story. As long time Twilighters will know, Chris Weitz didn’t dub Stephenie Meyer’s books “The Twilight Saga”. The word “saga” has been part of Twilight since Eclipse. It’s what the name of the official Little Brown site is and how the books have been referenced on the NY Times Best Seller list since 2007.

New Moon Exclusive on MTV Tonight

This is one of those times when I think it’s best just to let MTV’s words speak for themselves. Here’s what they linked us to:

The director has been chosen. The Jacob controversy is behind us. And the new cast is coming together. Now all that’s left is to make a movie, right? Well, not so fast. Before a single frame of “New Moon” is shot, MTV is thrilled to present an exclusive piece of imagery from the film you all can’t wait to sink your teeth into come November.

So at 10PM tonight come right back here to the MTV Movies Blog for your first look! And by way the there’s more than just an image you can look forward to. There’s some interesting news in what we’re debuting too. Trust us.

We’re checking right now on 10:00pm in which time zone! We’ll let you know as soon as we know. They updated. It’s 10:00pm eastern usa time.

OK the plot thickens
BWHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
…sorry, we couldn’t resist.

OK if we had to bet money (and yes this is a total guess on our part), could it possibly be that ET got the TV broadcast rights to the New Moon Images and MTV gets the exclusive on the high res web images? So, all you wallpaper, banner, and avatar makers out there, if we were you, we’d be hitting the MTV blog at 10:00 and photoshop right after.

OK Magazine’s New Moon Insight: Jared and Heidi Cast?

OK Magazine is reporting the following. We haven’t seen this info any place else as confirmed, in particular the information surrounding Anna and Brandon. So hang on for other back up.

  • Robert Pattinson will not be playing on the New Moon Soundtrack, and “Now, sources tell OK! that the group (Paramore)is penning New Moon‘s title track.”
  • Brandon Michael Vayda will play Jared the werewolf.
  • They are confirming that Anna Lynn McCord is actually cast.
  • Ben Barnes is out as “his L.A.-based agent, Nick Reed, sets the record straight: “Although Ben has enjoyed much of the speculation, we haven’t had any calls. There’s no truth to it.”

The sound you now hear is every other news outlet in Hollywood calling the agents of Michael and Anna for confirmation.

Hot Topic DVD Release Party Surprise, Hint Number 1

This just in from the folks at Hot Topic, take a guess at what the hint means in the comments. (We’re currently asking for clarification from Hot Topic, but there might be a prize involved for whoever guesses right.):

Twilighters, are you ready for some awesome news? Good, because Hot Topic wants you to hang out with us and celebrate the release of the Twilight DVD! What sounds better than hanging out with fellow fans and being a part of the phenomenon that is Twilight? Nothing, so don’t miss out!

We also have a surprise in store for you on the day of the launch party! Hold on – we can’t tell you yet. But we’re going to give you a new hint each week. Will you be able to figure it out?

Hint: “I Heart Bella!”

Edit: We now have clarification from Hot Topic. I’m going to quote them directly (actually our questions and their answers) because I so don’t want to mess up the wording here:

LEXICON STAFF: You’re giving out a hint a week and this week’s hint is “I Heart Bella”.  So people need to guess this week by responding to our post what that hint means and a random whoever guesses it right gets a prize?

HOT TOPIC RESPONSE: I will be sending a hint out every week.  Today’s hint is I Heart Bella.  People need to ponder and guess what it means and you guys can decide by the fourth hint who ever guessed it right, let me know, and they get some Twilight stuff : )

LEXICON STAFF: OK, so let me get this straight, so after four weeks of hints, whatever the hints are leading up to is a cool something or other and after week 4 we pick someone as a winner who we think guessed it right?  Sorry to be dense but I’m going to get flooded by emails and comments from users.

HOT TOPIC RESPONSE: It’s something really cool for everyone (meaning something to do with something surrounding the Twilight DVD and Hot Topic that everyone who visits a Hot Topic can appreciate, not that every single person who guesses will get a prize***)  but who ever guessed it gets Twi Merch.

So here is what the Lexicon is going to do to be as fair as we can be.
If you want to be eligible to win, you have to play along and comment on each week’s hint thread. Then when it comes to the final hint, we’ll pick a random winner from the commenters.

***This info in parenthesis is a Lexicon clarification, not Hot Topic’s words.

Catherine Hardwicke Tells All to Forbes

So just how big is the gender gap in Hollywood?  Several female directors tell all to Forbes, among them is Catherine Hardwicke.   Looks like whoever said this, didn’t see a certain ballet scene!

There’s also the perception that a woman simply can’t direct a big, male-oriented film: “People have literally said to my face that I can’t do action,” says Hardwicke, who has worked as a stunt coordinator as well as directed the action-packed Lords of Dogtown and put her signature action stamp on Twilight. “That does make me mad. There’s a lot of stuff they would never say if I were a guy.”

Catherine goes on to say:

“I’ve been on a set where actors have meltdowns, there’s screaming people, the director is yelling, cussing, there’s physical abuse, emotional abuse,” says Hardwicke, who worked as the production designer on the notoriously contentious set of David O. Russell’s Three Kings. “And that is all OK. But if I turn my head to the side, privately, and one tear comes out, I get nailed for it.”

Attention Hollywood! We have money, we will spend it if you’ll only give us what we want. It’s different than what the guys want; it doesn’t make it better or worse just different. So listen up and you’ll get our dollars!
