Salute to Twilight Video Fun

Footage from Creation Entertainment’s Salute to Twilight Convention is floating in. One thing is for sure, the cast isn’t exactly inhibited as this video of Mike Welch proves as he reenacts the diner scene. We’re not sure who was laughing harder, the audience or Christian Serratos who was two feet away holding the mic.

Then there were the fans being sweet and wishing Ashley Green, fresh from her Las Vegas birthday bash, a happy birthday.

Robert Pattinson Oscar Odds and Ends

Here’s how Rob was mentioned by the press in the events surrounding the Academy Awards:

From Reelz Channel: “Sitting behind Mickey Rourke is Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, who could not look more bored”

From Film.com: “4:17pm: Robert Pattinson survives Ryan’s onslaught. He evades a ton of Twilight questions and gets in one tiny mention of Little Ashes, his new Dali biopic. Evidently it’s due out in May. Stay tuned!”

From Sign-On San Diego: “Fan favorite (screaming decibels): “Zac! Zac! Zac!” Zac Efron, the young actor from “High School Musical.”

Runner-up: Robert Pattinson, the young “Twilight” vampire.”

From Entertainment Weekly: “Robert Pattinson on the Oscars compared to Twilight premieres: “It’s more organized. At Twilight premieres, you think you’re going to die.”

Robert Pattinson Presents with Amanda

Rob and Amanda presented a retrospective look a romance movies of 2008 with Twilight and Amanda’s Momma Mia included in the montage. They did a pretty good job with some painful dialog about each of them finding true love despite their respective characters being a vampire and having three fathers.

Rob’s presentation was just fine even though he was nervous. He had previously told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, “I did a rehearsal and messed it up. I am probably going to be the letdown of the entire show.”

What sounded like a track from U2’s new album No Line on the Horizon Lovers In Japan by Coldplay underscored the segment. TY to Wendy for the correction!

Video footage by Pwned by Twilight.

Fortunately Rob’s infamous beanie stayed at home…or was on loan to Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

Robert Pattinson on the Oscar Arrival Carpet

Actors at the Salute to Twilight Convention:San Francisco

Twilighters, which is run by the fabulous cousins Geo and Chris, was at the Salute to Twilight Convention. They snagged some great photos, including Kellan Lutz who seems to be taking a page out of the Robert Pattinson school of beanie fashion. 🙂 They’ve got over 100 photos in their gallery of the event so check it out. The Panama twilight site also grabbed photos from the Friday night appearance of Peter Facinelli, Billy Burke, and Mike Welch.

Kaleb Nation Talks Logo

Kaleb Nation, the Twilight Guy, has the best analysis that we’ve seen on the new New Moon logo. Even better yet, unlike most of Hollywood, Kaleb realizes that the words “The Twilight Saga” were not something the studio or Chris Weitz dreamed up.

Cast In The News

Just Jared By all accounts, Ashley Greene had a fabulous time celebrating her 22nd birthday at Prive in Las Vegas.

Rachelle LeFevere just experienced her first awards show based on the advice of George Clooney, “Never go to an awards show, unless you’re invited.” They also give a rundown of who was who in timeline fashion.

Rob, Kristen, Dakota, Anna Lynne all made the cut at AIM’s 100 top celebrities under 25. TY to Kailtin.

Prep for the Oscars

Rob Pattinson is definitely presenting at the Oscars, but taking a stroll down the red carpet may be another story. It has nothing to do with his screaming public, it has to do with Oscar organizers trying to get more people to tune in. They figure if you see everyone on the red carpet, you won’t bother to watch the show. Apparently they’ve never encountered die hard Rob fans to know how…well frankly DUMB that idea is.

Robert Pattinson Needs Your Support

Over a Bravo Rob has been nominated for Celebrity A-list Breakout star.

4TNZ  has Rob nominated for Best Head of Hair. No word yet if the New Moon makeup artists are out buying copper colored hair extentions.

Next up is the news that Rob’s Salvador Dali film, Little Ashes, has been postponed until May 8th. The film was originally scheduled to debut on March 27th, the same day as Kristen Stewart’s film Adventureland. Both films have gotten excellent buzz especially Adventureland at Sundance. It now looks like the competition is off.

SAG Getting Ugly Again

Things are heating up again over at the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) talks. If SAG does strike, it will knock out major TV and film project this spring including New Moon. Twilight narrowly avoided the fallout from the Writer’s Strike (WGA) last year. Most of the script was penned before the strike, and the strike was settled just prior to shooting beginning.  In the last two months we’ve seen:

  • Warring factions with A-list actors taking sides and taking out dueling ads in industry papers.
  • Talks back in November with a federal mediator present tank after two days
  • A strike vote that was originally scheduled for right after Christmas wisely get postponed
  • And perhaps our personal favorite the firing of Doug Allen (their chief negotiator) in a not so secret palace coup

So why are we bringing this up now?  This is what the studio bosses said when talks broke off Thursday:

“this is our last, best and final offer”. The went on to say, “The terms in the offer are the best we can or will offer in light of the five other major industry labor deals negotiated over the past year and the extraordinary economic crisis griping the world economy.”

That’s an ultimatum if we ever saw one. Expect people to be polite and not really mention it too much until Sunday’s Oscar ceremony is over. After that it’s anyone’s guess as to what SAG’s next move is going to be.
