It’s Official Dakota Fanning is Jane

Summit announced to the subscribers of TwilightTheMovie.com via email that Dakota Fanning is now officially cast as Jane. If you haven’t signed up for alerts from that site it’s really worth it. Subscribers got a text message signed by Rob and Kristen back in November announcing that New Moon was green lit.

Novel Novice Launches the Team Switzerland Project

2008 was all about declaring yourself – Team Edward or Team Jacob – and rocking the vote. Novel Novice Twilight used the 2008 U.S. Nat’l elections as inspiration for our highly successful Team Edward vs. Team Jacob Campaign.
Looking ahead at 2009, we turn to our original inspiration – using Twilight as a way to get people (young people, especially) educated about and involved in politics. And this year in real-life politics there is a renewed effort for bipartisanship. Here at NNT, we want the same thing for Team Edward and Team Jacob. That’s why we’re excited to launch the Team Switzerland Project.
All this year, we are inviting fans to submit their videos, artwork, poetry and other creative works to show how Team Edward and Team Jacob can get along.
Every Friday this year is Team Switzerland Day – and throughout the year, we’ll share everything we receive – as well as revealing exciting, new parts of the Team Switzerland Project.
And to kick things off, we have an awesome Team Switzerland Project Contest, sponsored by Blue Foundation – the band behind the song “Eyes on Fire” from the Twilight Soundtrack.

Catherine Hardwicke Celebrates Her Book Release With a Signing

As was previously announced on the Twilight Saga website, Twilight movie director, Catherine Hardwicke, has her Director’s Notebook to the Twilight movie coming out on March 17th. Also on that day, Catherine will be responding to questions, that were previously sent in by fans, on the Twilight Saga site. “I love the fans,” she insists. “I feel like I am one of the fans and any direct interaction I’ve ever had with them has been the most warm and pleasant and enthusiastic. If anything, it’s the biggest driving force that could propel you to do something.”
That doesn’t mean all the new attention—OK, hysteria—can’t be overwhelming at times. But when she was recently quoted in a magazine as describing some of these experiences as “psychotic,” some felt she was taking a dig at the fans. “It’s not normal for me to be in a situation that Twilight puts you in,” she explains. “It’s not personally normal for me to see 5,000 screaming girls. But I’m not criticizing them for being ‘crazy’ about me. I’m sort of going, “Wow, this is just crazy!’ “
