Photos From La Push Filming

There are a variety of photos from the La Push filming. You can see Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart in costume, and our favorite red truck is back!

In other photos you get a good view of the wigs and costumes. It looks like it’s pretty cold from the way Kristen is standing.

Ty to corral.

New Moon Shooting Still a No-Go

The Vancouver Sun is reporting what has been common knowledge for awhile. The script and locations of New Moon make observing a scene being filmed pretty much impossible. From locations that are on private property well off the main road, to police cordoning off areas out of concerns for traffic accidents, to the hiring of off-duty Canadian Mounties for a security detail no one to our knowledge who isn’t part of the production team has seen the shooting, or captured any footage of it.

According to one fan, “On both sites, they brilliantly located them so you can’t see anything,” she said. “It’s surrounded by trees.”

It’s not for lack of trying. The article features networked teams Twittering info to each other, but if you can’t get near the action…well…you can’t get near the action. This pretty much explains why the only photos are of the cast walking to get coffee, or going out to eat because there is nothing else for them to shoot. And honestly Rob at Starbucks and Taylor ordering a steak gets really old after awhile ( wild surprise they drink and eat). It makes us wonder if they are going to give up.

New Website Not an Endorsement Like You’d Think

The LA Times has an interesting piece on a new website called Filed By Author.  They are highly critical of the site. According to the LA Times article:

“Without permission or advance notice, FiledByAuthor has cataloged the information of about 1.8 million authors into individual pages. There are biographies, photos, links to purchase books from online retailers and links to share the author’s FiledBy page through a dizzying list of social networking sites. And everyone is there, from the novice self-published author to Stephenie Meyer.”

Now FiledByAuthor hasn’t broken any laws or anything like that, but after a quick look on our part accuracy isn’t their strongest point. We found a couple of hilarious errors regarding Stephenie’s work:

1964
Our Take: It takes true talent for an author to publish the third book of her four-book saga 40 years before the first one comes out and a good decade before the author herself is born.
2008
1999
And it pretty much goes downhill from there.

Twilight Riddle

If you liked the riddle that Julika made awhile ago here’s another one that Julika inspired. The author of this one is Victoria.

Lana Veenker To Give Denver Workshop

Location casting director of films such as “Twilight, “Management,” “Untraceable” and “Feast of Love” , Lana Veenker, announced that she will be taking her successful GO PRO Workshop to Denver, Colorado on Saturday, April 4th, 2009.

Veenker is the owner of Lana Veenker Casting, one of the most successful location casting companies in North America and, over the past decade, has built a career helping actors outside Hollywood break into the business.

She offers GO PRO in regional markets across the country to help actors learn what they need to do to make themselves attractive commodities in their hometowns and beyond.

“I’m passionate about showing Hollywood that regional actors have got the goods. But sometimes actors blow their chances, because they don’t understand that it takes more than talent to book a job,” says Veenker. “It takes developing the mindset and focus of a pro. It means upping your game, wherever you are in your career.”

Two sessions of GO PRO will take place on Saturday, April 4th at The Bug Theatre, 3654 Navajo Street, Denver, Colorado 80211:

The Beginning session runs from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and the Intermediate/Advanced session runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The cost of the workshop is $99, if registered by April 1st.

Twilight Researcher Needs Help

A couple of professors researching the Twilight phenomena need your help. Here’s what they sent us:

We are a group of media researchers (and Twilight devotees) at the University of Missouri-Columbia who are interested in researching the cultural phenomenon known as Twilight.

We invite you to participate in our Twilight Survey. If you are 18 or older, you can take our survey through this link: www.surveymonkey.com/twilightmoms . If you are under 18, you will need to ask the permission of your parent or guardian, and s/he will be sent a code via email that will allow you to enter the survey. Please ask your parent or guardian to email Elizabeth Behm-Morawitz at [email protected] to give their consent for you to participate and to receive the code. Once you have the code, you can take our survey through this link: www.surveymonkey.com/twilightteens .

On the survey, you will be asked to answer questions regarding your personality, relationship history, your interpretation of the characters and relationships in the Twilight saga, your fan activities, and finally your basic demographics. The entire survey should take about 20 minutes to complete. Your participation is voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time.

To repay your favor of filling out our survey, we will enter you into a lottery to win one of three $50 Amazon gift cards. At the end of our data collection, we will randomly select three participants to win the gift card.

The risks to participating in this research study are expected to be no greater than those encountered in ordinary, everyday life. In fact, you have likely talked about the topics we will ask you about with your friends or in online discussion forums. The benefits to participating in this research study include the opportunity to get exposure to the research process and to take part in an academic study that will contribute to the understanding of fans’ connection to Twilight.

The data from this study will be kept anonymous. Your personal information, including your name, will not be connected to the data you provide, unless you indicate at the end of the survey that you would be willing to be interviewed over the phone or in person. Interviews will be conducted at a later date.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the study, please contact us at [email protected]. If you have any questions about your rights as a research participant, contact University of Missouri Campus Institutional Review Board at (573) 882-9585.

Thanks for your consideration!

submission deadline: April 3, 2009

EDITED:
As a point of information, this is for a band or artist to submit their work themselves. No matter how much you personally may love a group or think they are perfect, someone from that group needs to submit the items being asked for not a fan (nothing personal, the way the biz works).

Looks like our guy in the music industry got fooled. The earlier story was not based on fact according to Summit.

Guess Who’s Finally Reading Breaking Dawn?

Kaleb Nation, the Twilight Guy, has finally gotten around to reading Breaking Dawn. you can read his view on Chapter 1 here.

It’s been a busy month for Kaleb. He just got back the galleys on his debut novel Bran Hambric: The Farfield Curse. Look for the novel this fall!

Whitney Port on the Twilight Movie

Whitney Port seems to be the only person in Hollywood (at least that MTV has found) who doesn’t like the Twilight movie, or at least admits it in public.

She does however like Robert Pattinson, even if she can’t quite remember his name.
