The Official I Have Seen Eclipse and This Is What I Think Post

eclipsebill

Let’s face it. We all know that the critics don’t get Twilight. They think we are all 13, or we are middle-aged and run around in sparkly glitter all day long. But at the end of the day, we like what we like. We know who we are. We don’t need to defend it to every insipid critic who just doesn’t get that it’s our brand of heroin and we weren’t looking for or mistaking it for War and Peace. It’s just something we like, PERIOD.

So, in the words of Producer Wyck Godfrey who we ran into after a screening, “You people count. You people matter. The fans matter. Did you like it?”

Comment away, and obviously there will be spoilers!

First to say my mood was on such high energy I heard people mutter if I was high on coffee or crack for others. Seeing as I saw this with my thirteen year old gal pals I was extremely excited. The movie was my favorite of the three, it had the perfect balance of romance humor drama and danger. I was worried the movies action would gloss over more important things such as romance and feeling but im glad to say it didnt! I thought maybe it went a little to fast for my liking but the timing overall was good. I thought some things could have been improved such as adding the ‘kidnapped by alice seen’ or ‘wishing to see a dress in the end’ Other things I LOVED such as charlie and Bella’s ‘Talk’ the beginning where they are debating marriage and I personally thought Bryce Dallas Howard took on the role of Victoria very nicely all things considered. The proposal seen was wonderful when Edward talked about as if they were living in his time and his ‘courting’ of her so romantic but a bit fast it could have used more explanation. I was glad to see Bella’s bracelet was added after a petty gossip magazine told me it would not be featured! The fight seens were amazing so much action! As well as the backstorys of Jasper Rosalie and the third wife story. All in all the end made me cry tears of joy at bella’s speaking of belonging when she’s with Edward, I don’t know if it was that or the fact i’m gonna go crazy waiting for Bd! It got a 9 out of 10 on my scale and I cannot wait to see it again! Btw 4 anyone going to more midnight showings get there early, we had a hard time finding seats a half hour before the movie started. Thxs 4 another fun movie and more obsession! Team Edward forever! Go Twilight! -Meredith, 13

  2. I’m torn over this movie. Eclipse is hands down my favorite book in the saga, so I had high hopes! But I’m not sure I loved it. BDH was a lackluster Victoria. And her hair was terrible! I really hope that was a wig and not her real hair…yikes!! But, I loved Xavier as Riley. He seems like he put a lot of effort into creating a believable character and I dug it! Taylors acting has improved but there is still a way to go. And him and Kristen kissing…no chemistry at all! LOVED the Jasper Hale backstory!! Jackson really shined!! And his hair is soooo much better! Lol. The fighting scenes were well done and I loved ‘the talk’ with Bella & Charlie. It was very funny at times and pulled on my heart strings! Its def my fave of the three but I think it could have been better

  3. Lexie Ashment says:

Did Kristen Stewart nail it? And did she cry??? I’m going to see it with my dad and he loved the books (believe it or not), but insists she underacts. I love her, but were there any tears??

  4. So we just got back and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. The movie delivered a lot of humor but was very disappointed in the lack luster Bella and Edward moments. The bedroom scene started to get a little heated but it fizzled quickly and moved on instead of following the story; would have loved to see Edward’s smoldering eyes. We were promised they would not be lacking but they truly were. Too many things were moved around or entirely omitted that really made the story. I LOVED Edward’s humor throughout! Really enjoyed the back stories. The Edward factor was WOW of course! Just very disappointed at the lack of passion that should have been prevalent the entire movie with Edward and Bella!!!

  5. Seriously loved this movie. Must see it a few more times to properly digest it – and perhaps watch some parts in slow motion haha. Highlights – obviously proposal, B/E finally getting lots of love sessions, charlie – always fave, emotion from jacob and bella love – totally felt it. Biggest surprise? Rosalie scene…NR blew me away. Worst – stupid bella wig!!!! Soooo distracting. Like at least get the freezies down to a minimum!! Argh! Other than that absolutely awesome! Best so far!! Congrats david, cast and crew. It was worth the non-sleep I’m gonna get tonight and still get to work this morning lol

    • I here you about the lack of sleep. I had about three hours. I’d say I took a three hour nap before going to work. I am actually typing this at work now. My advice, go to the nearest gas station and buy a Starbucks doubleshot with energy+coffee.
But it was so worth it.

  6. loved it. Loved seeing MY Seth…expecially shirtless….tent scene not quite what i expected..wished Alice had kiddnapped Bella…needed more Seth…Loved Jazs accent and thw horse AMAZING!! I wish it had the “meet her in a diner” scene…Needed more Seth….WHERE WAS KIM AND CLARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did i mention Seth?

  7. most definitely my favorite twilight saga movie yet. the books will always be better but this movie was great. the action and the acting and the romance, it was just amazing. love love loved it. i do wish they had kept the same victoria. the new girl they had on there was good but the first one captured the real catlike essence of her. and i really like how they incorporated the new book about bree tanner into the movie. not exactly in the same ways but still close. 10 out of 10.

    • Lexie Ashment says:

Was KStew good though? And did she cry or get emotional at all?

      • i think she was better in this movie than she was in the first two. still awkward but thats how she’s supposed to be i believe. i have pretty high hopes for breaking dawn if they keep this same director and stop switching so much. this guy really did a great job.

        • but no i don’t think she cried

          • veronica says:

She did not cry, but she did a really good job when she snapped back at Edward after she found out he knew Jacob was listening and heard about “10 best evenings”(even tho it’s suppose to be nights).

      • No she didn’t cry. That is what I wish that they would have put into the movie: the big crying scene at the end when she breaks up with Jacob.

        • yeah that’s what i thought they would have put in there. because that was like a big moment for bella in this book. i don’t know why they won’t make kstew cry.

  8. I need to add that the acting was great! They all did a superb job there; simply brilliant!!! The screenwriting is what I question most and how such vast changes have been allowed? If Eclipse was 3 and 1/2 hours long to fit the story more closely, guess what? We would all line up in droves….we love the stories please do not ruin Breaking Dawn!

  9. Brienna says:

Definitely better than New Moon. Maybe…. Even better than Twilight, but I would have to see it again to be sure of that ;) I thought the werewolves were way more believable. Bryce…. Well, she did good, but I prefer Rachelle. I absolutely LOVE it and wish I could go see it again NOW!

  10. Tiffany says:

By far Eclipse is the best movie so far!! The filming was perfect, the screenplay was well written and the actors stepped it up a notch. Kudos to D. Slade and Summit for a job well done!

  11. Kimberly says:

    Overall it was GREAT!
Wished the line “I can’t fight an Eclipse.” Had made it in but I can’t have everything.
Boo Boo as Seth was Awesome! So cute. Leah was just as witchy as she is in the books. Xavier was really good as Riley. Bryce was good as Victioria, imo, but I still think Rachelle was the BEST.
Edward/Bella together…SO GOOD! They did Great and very lovey. Have been waiting for THAT forever! Taylor as Jacob was good imo. Emotional and convincing. Fights were awesome as was having the ENTIRE Cullen clan back together. I have to say that I thought the wolves in New Moon were better. I didn’t think they look as realistic in this one…some jerky movements…imo but that was my biggest negative…and I can live with that.
    AWESOME MOVIE OVERALL!

  12. Arcadia says:

I had tickets to the TWILIGHT/NEW MOON/ECLIPSE trilogy and a great pre-dinner celebration planned. June 30 (today) is my Birthday. Nothing could make me happier than bringing in my birthday at midnight at the start of ECLIPSE.

    Then tragedy struck.

During the dinner I received a call that my grandson had injured his wrist and I MUST return home immediately. When I got home I found my seven year old grandson going into shock. I called 911 and today he will have emergency surgery to save his right hand. He fractured his entire right hand and wrist. He will need steel rods and screws to restore the hand. It will be a long road.

I am very disappointed that I did not see ECLIPSE. However, some things in life take priority and ECLIPSE is forever. I will have that opportunity, just not now.

I am sharing this with you because I feel more at home here than any site dedicated to the fan base for TWILIGHT.

I appreciate everyone’s comments about the movie.

    Thanks for listening.

    Wilhelmina

    • Murielle says:

Poor thing. Hope your grandson is ok. What a night for that to happen.

    • Poor chap! Hope he’ll recover speedily.

Don’t worry…going by the feedback, Eclipse will be around for awhile!

    • aw i’m so sorry. i hope everything goes okay with him and his hand heals wonderfully. yes a movie will be here forever. and happy birthday. i know it can’t be the best one but i hope you can make something of it.

  13. I definitely think that it is the best of the 3 and I loved how the entire movie was put together. Everything was stepped up a notch – the acting, the wolves, the way the story pulled together. My biggest gripe is the end fight sequence… I really didn’t like the idea that Edward was almost killed and that Seth was actually hurt. I think it would have been great if they stuck more to the book there and I missed the Edward Seth nose to fist bump – just one of the details. I also missed the Space Heater comment in the tent scene.

Overall though I am happy and can’t wait to go see it again in like 2 hours :D

  14. jocelyn says:

best movie yet by far!!!!! everyones acting has improved immensely and the movie itself just has that ‘good movie’ feelin g about it overall. it has a little bit of everything anf it was very close to the book. they said the exact same things and acted just how i pictured it while reading the novel. great movie!! :)

  15. Okay, I just saw the movie (3am) and have not read any comments or heard anything other than what my friends and I discussed.
Oh no…I am disappointed. We are back to the elementary directing/editing of the original Twilight. I loooove this Saga and never, ever blog about anything. But I have to say they rushed this one. The acting was better (yay Kristen!) but the presentation was sub par. Cannot believe that I actually got bored a couple of times. This is not New Moon calibur, hopefully the powers that be can convince Chris Weitz to do the second half of Breaking Dawn. Pleeease Chris!

  16. Kate Canfield says:

I loved it!!! I not only will see it again but again and again. Cannot wait to own it so can watch it everyday! I love the books and so glad that Summit has honored us with the movies. I look forward to Breaking Dawn so that I can live Twilight when ever I need a little get away and romance in my life.

  17. This is driving me crazy!! I have to go see it tomorrow. I was going to wait a few days or a week so that it wouldn’t be so crowded and crazy (I like to live in my movies with no interuptions) BUT I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I WILL SEE IT TOMORROW, FIRST THING!!

  18. Just got home from the three movie marathon. Eclipse was by far the best movie so far!! Everyone did an amazing job!

  19. Tiffany Michelle says:

Down here in Aus we hve a short 6 more hours to wait till eclipse graces our screens.. From the sounds of it I won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait!!

  20. kerry211 says:

Thank you for the reviews everyone. I have to wait impatiently until Saturday morning for my first watch and I can’t wait

  21. Xavier was great. Loved him. BDH…sorry. She really tried but she kind of missed the mark. I missed Rachelle. I agree with others who said she has a baby face that just couldn’t quite carry off that treacherous look that Rachelle had.

I disagree with some who didn’t like Taylor’s performance. I thought he was awesome! I thought both Kristen and Robert were at their best when they shared scenes with him. I know Bella and Edward’s love is intense, but at times, I just wasn’t feeling it. That’s just my two cents. I still feel like they needed to spend a few extra minutes establishing the intensity of their realationship. We see the scenes where she and Jacob had a connection, but what about Bella and Edward?

Nice tent scene. Could have been longer…Loved the fight scenes. Great to see what was happening. Also really nice to see the Cullens using their “special powers”…all in all, great movie. I put this one 2nd on my Twilight movie list, close behind Hardwicke’s Twilight. Nice job, Mr. Slade.

  22. Fantastic Job – Rob, Kristen, Taylor, David Slade and the rest of the crew! This is by far the best of the 3 for me….

Favorites: Ashley Greene’s matrix move during the fight scene, tent scene with the trio, the dialogue, Xavier Samuel’s acting (Riley), Edward’s white make-up for this movie (an improvement from the New Moon’s Edward which was too much white)

Not-so-favorites, but tolerable: The new “Victoria” was not as scary :( — I was not convinced, Bella’s hair –

  23. Just watched the Twilight Trilogy. It was great. ECLIPSE was AWESOME!!!!!! I agree the best out of ALL 3 Twilight movies. Plan on seeing it again & again & again. Bella wasn’t good butvother was better this time. Like Jaspers & Rosalie was a lot better in Eclipse then New Moon.

  24. Awesome! Loved it! Can’t wait to go see it again! :)

  25. Loved it! It felt a little rushed in the beginning but was happy overall. I also thought BDH was good, however, she just wasn’t the Victoria that Rachelle brought to the screen. It wasn’t her voice that bothered me, she just didn’t look fierce enough. Eclipse was my fav book and I think it’s my fav movie of the saga so far. Kudos to David!

  26. Emilypruitt says:

It’s hard to gather my thoughts in this early hour but I do think this movies was my favorite.

It was missing something or some things, which I can’t be sure of until after subsqsequent viewings, bug the acting was 10 times less irritating or distracting. They’ve come so far! The minor characters stole the show, Jackson, Xavier, even BDH had her moments for me & I’ve not been her biggest supporter. I think it could have really incorporated the soundtrack better; I mean when you hear the opening beats of Thom Yourke’s “Hearing Damage”, I’m immediately taken back to the chase scene in NM, same with “Supermassive Blackhoke” from the baseball sequence in Twilight. But nothing really stood out to me here. Some songs were used where I presumed they would be, but badly or barely so. The score however, is beautiful & used well though maybe too often. Lastly, I didn’t find too much issue with pacing; a necessary evil when you want as much book as possible in a movie but more so with camera style & movement. A few too many shaky camera moments for me; it took focus from the action & made me feel like I was getting some voyeuristic video of a private moment versus being pulled into the action myself. And part of my issue I think comes from lack of bridges between actions ir scenes. The scenes didn’t seemed rushed in & of themselves but they dud seem to bump into one another oddly for me.

Ok that’s all I’ve got after only 1 screening & at 4am. Jackson is my hero though. He made it for me.

  27. Just got home from the midnight showing… Our movie was supposed to start @ 12:01… due to “techinical difficulties” it didn’t start to 12:35!! (we were all getting a little nervous) All was fixed and it was WORTH THE WAIT!

Loved: the humor, finally getting to see a loving Edward & Bella, engagement scene, tent scene was actually perfect!, Riley was awesome!

Hated: how they wove in the soundtrack, BDH as Victoria, how quickly they moved on after engagement, Jaspers accent really threw me off(they should have given him more lines in the first 2 movies – I thought it was out of left field).

Overall I loved it! Best one so far…Can’t wait to see it again tomorrow night with my momma! :)

This wait for BD is going to be painful!!

  28. The opening sequence and music for Eclipse were a nice start, but the cinematography was extremely unflattering to Kristen Stewart, and out of focus on the “leg hitch” scene (alluding to porn) and the mountain top scene with the Jacob kiss. Why? Anna Kendrick’s speech was the bomb, and the party scene was well-condensed. Two EXTREMELY important lines were omitted: (1) the line where Charlie is afraid Bella is going to leave and asks her to say good-bye, and (2) Jacob’s line about King Solomon who was testing the women to see who the true mother of a desired baby was, implying he was giving up Bella to save her from further anguish. This book has the most humor of all the saga and it was really needed for comic relief. The soundtrack was cut in poorly, but fairly-well chosen (actually my favorite so far), and the score seemed stale and uninspired. Jacob’s theme sounded like an etude for piano students – pretty with no substance nor development. It all became tedious by the end.

  29. Okay. So i watched Eclipse today. It’s really good! But i was however quite disappointed of the storytelling part (Chapter ‘Legends’ about Taha Aki, Utlapa and the Third Wife), I really like that part, well, they do tell a little,, but nothing major, and only mentions the main points, [about the Quileutes being spirit warriors, Taha Aki being the Chief, and how the third wife sacrificed herself to save the tribe] but it should be only one “cold woman”, with hair to her knees etc. but in the movie there’s first a vampire guy that got killed by the wolves and then the girl comes back to the tribe to take revenge (Just like Victoria and James) and i dont like that… they should’ve told the whole story… And Jasper and Rose’s stories… Too short!!! Rose’s one is like, 1 minute. (No exaggeration!) Jasper’s one is a bit longer… but he only says ‘Maria”s name, and not Nettie or Lucy. I think to tell the story better they should’ve told the story(ies) in more detail. And the tent scene!! =( It’s not the exact dialogue from the book, and they made it not funny. Well, I get it it’s not supposed to be funny, but admit it, it’s still a bit funny cuz of the stuff they say. the only funny thing Jacob says is “Well, I AM hotter than you.” where the whole theatre laughed, but actually what Jacob meant was LITERALLY that he’s ‘hotter’ (body temp.) but of course, who would think about THAT. (Hhahahahah you know what im talking about.)
The battle scenes are good… but it’s all in the wrong order!
Like when Leah tries to finish off the newborn and Jacob shoos her off and deals with him.. that should be before Bella, Edward and Seth joins the others.. but they put that at the end, and Bella watches it all…it’s really sad actually, to see Jacob like that..and all his bones on the right are shattered. =(… And Bree! they didn’t even mention her name! Yeah, Jane tortures her, but she never asks for her name!!! Then what’s the point of even having Bree when there’s no name, no nothing!?!?
    So yeah,
    that’s my review.
And also, I don’t like the way we (Hong Kong) don’t take Twilight seriously! They didn’t even show the trailer on TV!(Like in Twilight) Or put posters everywhere, like they did in New Moon! It’s such a pity they just don’t ever think of these stuff…and when Taylor and Kristen went to Korea..I felt so close but they’re not coming! =(

  30. FINALLY we get to see the charming, selfless, sexy, old-fashioned Edward Cullen that we know and love from the books! Rob’s performance blew me away! For the first time I actually saw Edward, Jacob, and Bella as their characters instead of the actors. I was worried that I would be disappointed because Eclipse was my favorite book, but I was pleasantly surprised. I am usually overly-critical of things that are changed or left out from the books, but I think Melissa Rosenburg nailed this one! There were a few deviations from the book but all completely understandable. I loved how they used some of the great one-liners from the book like, “No, I punched a werewolf in the face.” Sooooo many good things I could go on and on about like the bed/proposal scene(OMG) and the tent scene(LOL) but I’ll just say that this was by far my favorite movie of the three. Just a few quick criticisms… I liked the fast pace of the movie but thought they should have slowed it down a little for some of the flashbacks and emotional scenes; it just seemed a little choppy. Also the score was disappointing. There are so many intense and climactic scenes in Eclipse and I think the music lacked that same intensity.
Again, thumbs up to Melissa, this was her best writing yet. And double thumbs up to Rob for finally bringing the Edward we love to life!

  31. Okay. So i watched Eclipse today. It’s really good! So yeah,
    that’s my review..

  32. We missed you Rachelle!! BDH did a good job but this was your roll and shame on Summit for ditching you!!

I loved the Movie! It kills me that they don’t make them a little bit longer it goes by way too fast for me.
Edward was so much better in this one. Funny endearing and smoldering.
I hate that they try to make Bella way to tough in this movie. Most of us women are all to chicken and over emotional in life. That is why so many people can put them selves in to the character of Bella. What the heck was her speach in the end. Lame I am Woman hear me roar! Don’t get me wrong I loved the movie and will see it at least two or three more times in the theater but come on.
On a side note I agree with Kristen. I wish bella would cook for her dad in the movies.
Torn by my own love triangle Me the books and the movies

    • Jessica M says:

I thought the same thing- I dont’ understand why Bella isn’t shown as the “Caretaker”. I don’t know why but people keep talking about Bella’s speech in the end and I dont’ even remember it. When I go again on Thursday, I’ll have to look for it.

  33. Hi! I’m Mercy from the Philippines. I’m one of the zealous fan of Twilight. We Filipinos are lucky to see the movie being shown this June 30.Since right now is June 30 in the Philippines and the time/ date is advanced compared in the U.S. and Europe,we are very lucky to be the first one to witness the movie.I went to the cinema today, because it’s June 30 now in the Philippines (four hours ago) to watch the 3rd movie of Twilight. Based from what I’ve watched the movie was great. I love the chemistry Of Robert and Kristen as Edward and Bella. There so many scene I loved in the movie. I like the scene when Edward proposed to Bella, that’s so romantic.I love the scene when Edward and Bella were in the meadow, the ending part, the tent scene…. I just felt bad for Edward when Bella kissed Jacob…I like the interactions of the Cullen family. I also like the scene when Charlie and Bella are talking about sex,it’s very funny. I loved Edward because he’s not selfish when it comes to Bella.Overall the movie was great!!! Rob, Kris and the rest of the cast did an amazing job for the movie. I’m planning to see the movie again this Saturday!!!

  34. I just finished watching all 3 movies at our theatre. Eclipse was AMAZING!!! My favorite by far!! They keep getting better and better. I am heading back tommorow to see it again. After I catch some zzzzs.

  35. Absolutely fabulous. They are getting better and better. I too was really really impressed with the acting. David Slade did a great job! But now I have to wait like a year for Breaking Dawn?

  36. Ok I have to say something first off. I love the cast of this and all of the Twilight movies. That being said, until now I didn’t believe that Kristen could form a complete sentence. I now stand corrected. The whole cast blew me away with the level of their acting. They have come a LONG way since Twilight first came out a couple of years ago. I was really impressed with David directing and how he really did pull the actors out of their shells and into character. It was a little off from the book, but I really liked how it flowed. I have to say this is my favorite of the series so far!. I just got home, so I am going to crawl in bed now because I am seeing it again in about 10 hours :)

  37. Anonymous says:

Just got in minutes ago from seeing it. Holy Cow it was fantastic! And my theater was definitely team Jacob or at least team Taylor..lol Because when he first appeared on screen that place went insane! And pretty much every time after that..lol And when Jacob and Bella kiss, people were literally screaming. That was a hot kiss by the way..hehe
Everyone did an awesome job. David Slade is the man!

  38. Christine says:

I am so impressed with Eclipse!! DS did an amazing job as did all of the actors. I think the movie is bigger over all, bigger feel, bigger acting, bigger fighting, bigger macking, bigger comedic moments. The score rocked my world. And what can I say about the over-all chemistry but wow. I went to the Twilight marathon, I sure hope they keep doing these every time! A++ Eclipse, can’t wait to see it again!

  39. I think this a movie that I’ll enjoy more and more as I re-watch it. While I understand there’s a lot to get in, the pacing of it was so fast that many moments didn’t get close to conveying the emotions they did in the book. I also did not understand the fact that Bella kissed Jacob within viewing distance of Edward. What? Edward’s reaction to it was awkward as well, I didn’t get the forgiving vibe. Loved the fighting, though I wish Esme had a bigger part. I wanted to see her rip someone’s head off :) The engagement scene was fantastic, I wish it could have gone on for longer.

  40. I was not disappointed with any part of Eclipse. Thought the entire cast did great, especially the new members to the cast. Taylor Lautner really surprised me as well, wasn’t sure what to expect, but was amazed at the great job he did.

  41. I got to see the first two films on big screen for the first time and then Eclipse. Eclipse was awesome! Better acting. Better screen play, seems there were a lot more direct quotes from the book than in other movies. The vocal music was less noticeable (less loud) and fit better than other movies. The background music was used to great advantage. The wolves were beautiful. Fun to see Edward loosening up in both anger and smiles. You could feel the awkwardness between Charlie and Bella with ‘The Talk’ scene. The flash back episodes flowed right along with the story. Nice for Nikki and Jackson to have more to say and do. Loved the Southern accent coming out of Jasper as he was more in his area of expertise. Jasper and Alice getting kisses in was cute. Julie held her own among the wolf pack. Look forward to more of her in BD. The scenes inside and outside the tent were great. Forgiven for letting Victoria and Riley getting their hands on Edward’s head/neck. Bella’s ‘speech’ at end fit well. Shows some real growth on Bella’s part, the choice isn’t just about Edward – he’s major reason, but there is another good reason. She understands more of the choice and why it is best for her. Thanks to all those involved in bringing this wonderful movie out.

  42. I came home from the Eclipse premeir tonight… See More….and I wanted to cry. Eclipse is by far my favorite book in the series, so when I heard david slade was directing it, I cringed a bit and hoped for the best. Will I go see Eclipse twenty more times in the theatre? Yes. Did david slade butcher the Eclipse film? BIG YES. I have read Eclipse over and over, so every little detail is burned into my brain. First of all, when the movie started I felt like my head was spinning-everything was so RUSHED. Second of all, the fact that Edward would let himself get sooo weak from hunger because he did not want to leave Bella’s side was not stressed enough. Thirdly, david slade dashed all my hopes and dreams by making the best scene in the book, the bedroom scene, a sweep under the rug. It was rushed, it wasn’t even led up to correctly. It would have been so much better if alice had held bella hostage like in the book and Edward had come home to wake her up by putting her on the bed. david slade made the bedroom scene one of the LEAST important scenes in the movie….And one of the things that pissed me off the most was how slade mushed the very last meadow scene of the movie up. Bella and Edward are supposed to be making out and Edward tells bella that he’s ready to give it up because he doesnt want that to be the reason they rush the wedding- David Slade completely leaves this out…Maybe if I was not such a die hard twi-hard I would have been more satisfied with the movie. Will I buy all the different copies of it when it comes out? Yes. But am I monumentally disappointed and left feeling unsatisfied?Even bigger YES. Once again…so sad. I even thought that the twilight and new moon films were BETTER than the books. Wish I could say the same for Eclipse…

It was along movie but I felt is was rushed also. The bedroom scene I could barely hear over the hundreds of teenage girls but I thought it wasnt stressed enough either.

    I’m officially Team Jasper.

  44. The bar was definitely raised again. The movie was outstanding!! From the beginning to the end it drew me in. Everything that was important in the book was in there. One small thing, I would have liked the scene between Bella and Jacob after he was injured to have been a little more heartbreaking. Like, it didn’t seem like Bella was as torn as she was in the book. Other than that, absolutely loved it. Eclipse is my favorite book and so far it is my favorite movie. Hats off to David Slade.

  45. I watched it last night and I really enjoyed it. I forgot that Jacob is one of my favorite characters in the books because of his humor. I don’t really find Taylor that attractive, and his acting before didn’t impress me. But Jacob had the funniest lines in this movie and I found myself liking him again. Of course I’m team Edward when it comes to Bella. And I loved that they finally got their ‘couple’ time. The big battle with all the vamps and wolves was beautiful. When the wolves came out and started jumping on newborns…it gave me chills! I also love that they finally showed some Alice/Jasper cuteness. They’re my 2nd favorite couple in the book (do we have to say who my 1st is?!) and I’m glad that the movie showed a little more of how lovey-dovey they are. And I will always love Charlie. Their ‘talk’ was so funny, great acting from both Kristen and Billy.

Minor complaints: The ring. Ugh. Jasper’s hair. Why can’t they find a good wig for the guy?! Bryce’s hair too. Seriously.

Loved it! Thought David Slade has done the best job so far…true to the book, excellent pacing, and i think the direction really brought out the best in the actors. Fight scenes were exciting and the vamps were actually a bit scarier than ususal (finally). Kudos!

  47. Anna Sargent says:

Honestly, it was the best out of the three. The acting was wonderful, props to Slade for good directing. Kristen looked beautiful, we saw a different side of Edward from Rob(loved it) and above all Taylors acting was impecable. He is going to be a big star. Hes not hard on the eyes too (sigh)!

  48. Anna Sargent says:

The back storys were great but as asked many times. Rachelle vs Bryce? They should have kept Rachelle majorly.

I guess I waS So into the movie it felt like it was 30 minutes long. I wanted to keep watching it it was pretty friken bomb o, just one more thing… I want to thank god for my bby taylor;) haha I wwanna marry this Kidd goodness i swear if only he knew I excisted…

  50. Ok so I saw Eclipse last night and I thought it was awesome. IMO it was the best so far! I think that everyone did such a better job with the acting, not that it was bad before, it was just so much more real this time. I really enjoyed the back stories of Rosalie and Jasper, and I like how we got to see so much more interaction between everyone. I think they did an awesome job following the book this time, there was so much dialogue that was word for word with the book. It was so funny at times but it was also sad and romantic and everything you want in a movie. All in all it was a hell of a movie and I probably will be going to theater again for this one. Great job David Slade!!
