Melissa Rosenberg talked with the Seattle Times. She going to be in town for the midnight DVD release and according to the paper, the location is Bothell’s Fred Meyer . Check out her interview, it’s one of the better ones.
“Q: You’ve written a lot about teenagers — how do you tap into that angst-ridden state?
A: I never write for teenagers. … The minute you start trying to capture some sort of jargon or whatever is hip now, you’re already outdated, by the time it hits the screen. … It really is about finding character and emotional truth, rather than something current or edgy.
Q: How was each director in the series different?
A: For Catherine [Hardwicke], we had very little time to work on “Twilight,” I was feeding her pages … and immediately it was a very intense collaboration. With Chris [Weitzon "New Moon"], I’d already finished the second draft before he came on board, so I did a round or two and handed it off to him, and he made changes. … David [Slade] is a very visual director … so with “Eclipse” (due in 2011) I was able to write out specifically some of the sequences per his direction.”

I think you got it wrong as Eclipse is due to show in cinema on 30th June this year, I think you are talking about Breaking Dawn due in 2011, so am I right?
It must be incredibly difficult to write under the type of pressure Melissa has on her. I admire her strength and passion for the art to be able to bring to life the characters that we love so much.
If she’s hoping Breaking Dawn will be two books and Stephanie’s mentioned that hope as well…I certainly hope that there are two movies. I hate to wait on the finale but it would be an incredibly long…like 2 hour 10 min intermission and the remaining two hour…one movie.
I’m glad to hear that Melissa Rosenberg ALSO agrees that Breaking Dawn is simply too much book for one movie! Hope Summit is listening.
(I think Twilight would have been much better if she hadn’t been so protective of her screenplay and let Stephenie collaborate a little more. I want a do-over! LOL)

i just hope that she does the book justice with the honeymoon ect… its what everyone is waiting for.
