This trailer gives me hope… Maybe they haven’t forgotten this movie is about the love between Edward and Bella and not just “the battle.” I feel a little better about that now.
Of course the movies can’t touch the books. And yea I’ve been disappointed in the past two movies BUT just have fun with them and think of them as extras. WE’LL ALWAYS HAVE THE BOOKS !
ok I loved the trailer but I was disappointed in that the Cullens or battle stuff wasn’t in there but I guess we have to wait for that part. It’s like Summit has decided not to show us a lot for this movie. And I don’t like Edwards voice or how he said that line in bed don’t hate me. And I like Jacobs last line but I don’t think it should of been last.

Well of course genius Dave! Movies CAN never come close to books for the mere fact that you can use a thousand words to describe one thing in a book but that’s not possible with a movie. Anyone with half a brain can tell you that! The creators of a movie are working with a totally different medium, there’s limited time & something called budgets.
If you like the books, then read them. If you don’t like the movies, just don’t watch them…simple.
I personally thought Jacob and Bella’s near kisses were accurate to the book. I saw the movie before reading the book and thought they were over the top (thinking they do not kiss in the book so we can make it close but not for real), but after reading thought it was more accurate (a kiss that probably would have happened had it not be interrupted).
I agree with you Dave!!!! This movie looks horrible!!!! I was not even excited!!!!! I want to throw up even thinking about it. There was no excitement at all!! What? Bella wants to be a vampire?? That is all this movie looks like to me!!! Absolutely rubbish!! I don’t know what you other fans are looking at, but you are all in denial!! You know this looks like crap!! I can’t take it anymore. Twilight looked better than this, and that is saying a lot. Sorry I am venting, but this movie is gonna suck!!!!! They couldn’t even show us the damn tent scene!!?? Maybe that would have made it better. Whatever. My hopes for Eclipse have depleted.
You can’t judge the whole movie by just a minute and a half trailer. It isn’t even pratical. I love the books…and I also loved the first 2 films. Yeah they aren’t as good as the books, but what do you expect? Maybe an 8 hour film? I got chills from the movie trailer. I can’t wait.

Do it in “series” like the BBC series for pride & prejiduce was awesome…maybe in like 10 years they’ll do an in depth series of Twilight! lol

I am in total shock! I loved the trailer and I was a little worried that they’d leave out the part where Edward promises to love Bella forever. BDH looks wicked as Victoria and I love the Voturi’s entrance to the clearing. I don’t know how we’re going to survive from now until June. Hopefully the time will fly by and then we’ll be talking about how cool the movie was.

I absolutely love the trailer, I think the movie will be fantastic! But I hope the movie doesn’t get the same amount of media attention as New Moon did, there were just too many previews and clips at the time it got out it seemed I’ve already watched the whole movie!

Idk…i wasn’t impressed :/ the NM preview caused tears in my eyes (& that’s my LEAST fav book) Eclipse is my FAV but idk, it just seemed “flat” to me lots of scenery shots & music but little “substance” and i’m sorry, maybe I woke up ont the wrong side of the bed this a.m., but i DID NOT like BDH as Victoria :’( Rachelle was MADE for that part…and BDH just looks “strange” Hopefully, the movie doesn’t disappoint…

I agree with everything you said! BDH looks alright as Victoria but her hair is off. Its not long enough and Rachelle will always be Victoria to me! This is my favorite book and the tent scene is one of my favorite scenes.. along with the whole scene leading up to Edwards proper proposal. I REALLY hope they get this right!
Eh… this trailer doesn’t really do it for me. Almost every piece of spoken dialogue is spoken in whisper. I was really hoping that they mingled in a little bit more of the building conflect between Edward and Jacob. Of course, I would have loved to see a few wolf shots, but it might still be too early to show them, and of course Summit doesn’t want to have the negative backlash that they recieved when they should a shot of Jacob turning into his wolf form, before that form was completely ready to be shown.
What their trailer needed was a bit of edginess… Building tension, and a possible glipse of Bella in danger…
What we got was a trailer that looked more like a commercial than an actual movie trailer. Just substitute the dialogue… it’s creepy…
On a postive note… I can already tell that David Slade’s cimetographic genius is on fire. The film looks good. BDH is lovely as Victoria… So there are some positives, but other than proof that the movie is well on its way, I hope they give us a better trailer soon. NM first trailer was a LOT better.
David did not dissapoint me at all with this trailer he did an amazing job he gave us the fans just enough to tide us over until the release. Lets also not forget that there going to have multiple trailers, film clips, and 8 minutes of the film on the walmart new moon dvd.
There is only one thing I cant stand in the new trailer and that is bryce she looks nothing like Rachel she does not do her justice. At least she wont be in the movie that much and wont be in the next one.

Honestly, when I first watched it, I didn’t realize that BDH was Victoria… For the near slit second you see her face, you can’t really tell the difference, not at least until freeze frame it. So firstly, there is NO way on God’s green earth you can justily state that Summit made a bad choice. Secondly, I love Rachel, but she was hardly in Twilight and New Moon. She had hardly any lines in Twilight, and the only lines she had in New Moon were later cut, so if there was ANY character that somebody else had to step into, it was her part. Thirdly, it was Rachel’s scheduling issues that caused the whole mess, not Summit’s. It was a bad choice on Rachel’s agent’s part. Summit had no choice but to replace her, to keep the scheduling going. I know it is hard to understand, but in order for movie’s to be released in a timely manner, schedules HAVE to be kept on time. If not, it can throw a movie off its release schedule by months.
So in short, wait until you see the movie before you trash Summit or Bryce. She is a great actress, and I firmly believe she will do the part justice. If not, then we can gripe. :p
I completely agree with you. I loved Rachelle – but it was on her and not Summit. I think Summit did a decent job replacing her and of all the characters if one had to be replaced, aren’t we glad it is a minor role?
I also agree. Rachelle’s agent blew it, but Victoria really didn’t show up in the movies as much as in the books. The Harry Potter franchise survived Richard Harris’s (Dumbledore) death, and didn’t miss a beat. Bryce will take over where Rachelle left off, and the Twilight franchise will be just fine.
