A couple of months ago the house that they used as the Cullen House in New Moon went on the market. Well, it just had its price reduced. According to CNN:
“Even fictional vampires are getting hit by the housing market. The Vancouver house that was the home of the Cullen clan in Twilight: New Moon had its sale price cut to $2,998,000.”
Since it first went up for sale, the house as part of its marketing, has not tried to downplay the house’s role in the film, and the fact the tour groups (though they don’t routinely get in) do in fact drive by. It leaves us wondering if, along with the economy, this is why it’s not selling.
You can see a full gallery of the house here. TY to Melissa for the heads up.

I wonder whats going to happen when they make Breaking Dawn if the house sells?
Then they will just have to film it in Portland at the original Cullen house!
Prop house…
Could have already a contract attached to it. Saying they can use it filming.
I prefer if they built the house described in the book EXACTLY for breaking dawn… not some “fill in” house.
Can’t see them doing that, not very cost effective.
This house is so beautiful. I can’t wait to see what they come up with for the next movies!
@Timothy: I disagree – it might be!! They have made so many million $ in profit that they could nearly build every setting in the original Twilight book if they had to…. I really hope they try not to over-hype/over-act the birth of Renesmee – I wasn’t really that impressed with the “fountain of blood” part of it…. Sure, it’s all she’s been drinking, but you could just say she fainted and started dribbling blood from her mouth – just as dramatic if not even more so, and makes you want to turn the page right away….
The fountain of blood was from a 16 year olds point of view. Hes just telling u like it is…
I want…I want.MINE MINE MINE
LOL
If I won the lottery, I’d buy it…Not only for the fact it was used it the movie, or because it’s a beautiful home, but also I’d let Summit Pictures or whoever does the location shooting, rent the house. Under the conditions 1) I can be there while it’s being filmed (not actually IN the movie), 2) lunch with the cast & MAYBE some crew (with autographed pics etc.) & 3)the crew would have to clean up & leave it how they found it. LOL
Summit may already have a contract to use it. Thats probably why its having trouble selling. i like your conditions.
Gorgeous house… I’d buy it if I were wealthy.
i sooooo want this house.
I would buy it too, if I had the resources. Yet, then again if I won the Lottery, but I rarely play it due to statistics. LOL
i would love to have this house! Its not the original used in Twilight but i love the modern look and the openess of the home. I would do what Belice said lol very creative conditions!
If I had an extra $3M laying around, I’d buy it! I love it!!!! Guess for a minute there I didn’t recognize it because the living room seemed a bit different in the movie (I think the floors were carpet and not hardwood in the movie), plus the movie furniture was totally different, so that threw me too……..but LOVE the house!!!!!!!!!!!
uh.. I think I know why it’s not selling. It’s friggin OVER TWO MILLION DOLLARS that’s why. Who the hell has that kind of money?!?! I mean seriously? It’s gorgeous, no doubt… but DANG!!! I’d need to know I was gonna LIVE FOREVER, and have intuition like ALICE to get the money to begin with. So NOT happening. I’ve got a better chance of getting bitten by Robert Pattinson than I do of ever owning a house like this.
i think both houses are ugly i pic their be more like a victirin era home cosidering it was over hundends of years old
I think Hollywood wanted to portray a family of “modern” vampires, very chic and living in the moment. The house that Stephenie described was very genteel and harkened back to a softer, slower time in our history.
Personally, I wish they’d stayed with the three story Victorian type house with the wrap around porch. They could have given us the modern eclectic look with the inside furnishings, which is EXACTLY what SM described in the books!
I agree. Both houses in the movies were ugly.
thank were i todally agree
This house is so beautiful. I love the layout and the fact that it’s so open and free-minded. I think that the fact that the house isn’t selling is because of the “Twilight” movies. The realitor has been bombarded with calls from Twi fans who don’t want to buy the house but, want to spend a night or two there. They’re are also fans who go and visit the house and take pictures in front of it and things. Personally, I know that I wouldn’t want to deal with a bunch of people always coming to my house and invading my private space.
