Kristen is not the only twilight star with Haiti outreach in the works. As we said when the tragedy first struck “Haiti needs help now, but more importantly they are going to need it months from now when people don’t remember it as well.”
The Lexicon has several items that we intended for a Haiti relief auction that we wanted to put up in time for Valentine’s Day. We still fully intend to auction the items, but we just had an unexpected offer to make our items part of a bigger and more organized outreach being run by a major name in Twilight, and we jumped at it. Hopefully we’ll have complete details next week, and Twilighters will have a chance to help Haiti and get some really cool merch. That’s a win-win as far as we are concerned.
I hope she gets some great parts soon. I just don’t watch stripper movies so I will miss the Rileys movie, but I love Kristen. Maybe they could go back and remake some of the great movies before 1950 where the actresses wore clothes and had strong parts. Sure would love to see that.
I think you’ll be missing out. It is not ‘just a stripper movie’.
Well said Jill. Lucy-did you see any interviews from Sundance? Educate yourself on this movie before you complain about it. It’s not about stripping, it’s the story about the girl that is important. And we should be talking about the work Kristen is going to do for Haiti here anyway.
Thanks for the love, Julie. I agree with your words entirely. I can’t wait for the film. You’d think people would get that she is genuine and wouldn’t sell herself short for a role in a stripper movie. I bet it’s going to be fantastic.
Go Kristen so many people want to help Haiti now that in a few months when they need more money and people won’t be donating I’m glad she realized this and is hosting later rather than right now.
So glad Kristen is doing this. She is so awesome and I can’t wait to see what the auction is that the Lex is talking about.
I’m so proud of all the Twilight cast for doing many charity events! That proves that they are not just pretty looking movie stars. They are smart and educated. I think that more young stars should look up to them.
On Kristen playing a stripper – movie buffs appreciate all kind of themes because film is art after all. If a person is not open minded about such controversial themes, he/she has issues.
Thanks for putting this on your site…previously there were many complaints about Kristen when stars were volunteering for the televised Haiti relief and Kristen was unable to do so because she was working at the Sundance festival. This will be the 2 nd time she has done something for Haiti relief. She also raffled off a dinner with her during the Sundance festival for the cause. This is someone who doesn’t need to be in the limelight or need publicity to volunteer, raise funds and donate to causes. Great job, Kristen!
