“Earlier today, the massive Los Angeles press junket for Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon began. All weekend the cast is going to be doing tons of interviews and I’d imagine you’re going to be reading the coverage on every website you follow. So rather than wait till the week of release, I’m going to be jumping in head first and posting what was said as fast as I can get it done. And up first… Kristen Stewart.
While at last year’s press junket for the first “Twilight” film, I got the sense that the massive worldwide interest was a bit much for this talented young actress. But, on stage today, she not only handled the media like a pro, she seemed a lot more comfortable being closely associated with Bella Swan. What an interview! Great questions, great answers, it was great. Finally a real interview about an actress playing a role in a movie.

Kristen came off so confident and thoughtful in this press conference. More mature. Not at all jittery and nervous like ComicCon. So funny that she’s afraid of motorcycles and cars, just like Rob.
Such a great interview. Kristen really gets Bella’s perspective and gave a few insights that I never considered. Huh! And Chris Weitz sounds like the raddest guy ever. Bring on New Moon!
She gets it! I’m finally confident that she gets it after that interview. She knows Bella, she knows the series/saga, she knows the books and her role.
She really answered all the questions sincerely and thoughtfully. She’s done so many interviews that past 2 yrs on this and this time I finally see that Kristen Stewart “gets it”. Maybe it is maturity I don’t know. But her old interviews were so vague and at times I was worried that she didn’t like the role, she didn’t like the books or the script.
Also on the personal level where her life has turned into one tabloid article after another, I truly respect her (and Rob and Taylor). It must truly be hard to have to deal with that and hard to put it aside and not have it bother you as a person, who deserves a private life.
I’m also glad that she touched a bit about Eclipse and I got the sense that she’s confident with David Slade as well. I’m still a bit worried that he’ll turn it into a horror flick and not the collaborative love story it becomes though.
I think she’s finally got it completely. It was a great interview. I am so excited for New Moon.
