The Entertainment Weekly cover story, at least part of it, featuring Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart is now online.
“With a new director, a new level of fame for stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, and a new set of washboard abs for Taylor Lautner, the second film in the Twilight series, due Nov. 20, promises even more swooning-opportunities for its fans. This week’s double issue of Entertainment Weekly places Stewart and Lautner on the cover, while revealing secrets from the New Moon set inside.
New Moon, a far different beast than Twilight, is steeped in heartbreak, focusing on the recovery Bella (Stewart) undergoes after Edward (Pattinson) breaks her heart and her new feelings for her friend Jacob (Lautner). Pattinson couldn’t be happier with his downsized role: “It was a stress-free job for three months,” says the actor. “All the pressure was on Taylor.”

Kirsten Stewart has been saying lame stuff on camera lately. It really makes her look egotistical, and she puts down people around her. De-classes herself. She could act so much better and do a world of good, but no, apparently to her, it’s just Kirsten-world.

He is so awesome! I loved all the moves and jumps he was pulling. It’s hard being my age and trying to remember he’s soooo young. Too young, Too young! He really brings out the teen in me. You girls today are so lucky in my day all we had to swoon over was Duran Duran and Kirk Cameron. I want a refund on all the teen mags I bought in the past.

No I don’t agree and I find it surprising that so many people actually think this. Here is my thing. Yes, Jacob does become much more key to the story in New Moon, that is true. However, the story is NOT ‘about’ Bella and Jacob. The story is ABOUT Bella’s loss and depression….the story is ABOUT her progression and fight to come back while not letting go of Edward even though she has another option. The story IS Romeo and Juliet and Jacob is NOT Romeo.
Should Taylor be a part of the promotion? Yes. Should Rob be a part of the promotion? Yes. This book is about all three of them and what is driving them. Summit is crazy to cut Rob out.

I think it’s lame to resent and actor for doing his job and portraying the character he was hired to play. Stephenie is the one who originally wrote Edward out of the picture, the movies are just staying true to that. So I guess you resent Stephenie, too? It’s funny that you suggested Taylor should grow up. lol
Yes I feel bad for the actors when people mix up the acotrs (the living breathing people) and their characters (the fictional people we sometimes wish were real). People have to remember that Kristen is not Bella, Robert is not Edward, and Taylor is not Jacob. It cannot be forgotten that this is just one movie (well one series) that these actors are a part of. Kristen is 19, Taylor is 17, and Robert is 23; they are all very young. When Twilight is done they have their whole lives in front of them to do other projects and explore other characters. Granted they may never be part of something like Twilight again, but they are going to move on and leave these characters behind. The characters in Stephenie’s book (as much as we love them) do not exist and we cannot just push the fictional relationships and personalities we find in the books onto the actors. It just gets frustrating to read some of the negative comments and realize that the fictional world and the real world are being smashed together. “I hate Taylor and Kristen together. I am so Team Edward. Bella and Edward forever!” or “Taylor can never be like Edward.” Now not all negative comments are like this, but these are the ones that frustrate me. You cannot dislike Kristen and Taylor hanging out simply because you’d rather her hang out with Robert only because Robert plays Edward (who Bella loves). You cannot dislike Taylor just because he plays Jacob. Once again I am NOT saying you have to like any of the actors but your reasons for disliking them cannot be based off of the fact that they play a character you dislike. If you played a villain or an unpopular part in a movie, you wouldn’t want people to make judgments about who you really are as a person just from your role would you? I should think, for most people, the answer is no.

but the most astonishing comments came from the announcement about the guy playing Royce in Eclipse. People were writing that he was a great pick because he looks like a sleazy slimeball rapist. i mean really, wtf? these are human beings people that are playing characters!!!!
I don’t resent Taylor for doing his job. I just find him annoying while he does it because he comes off as phony and shallow….typical Disney cut out.

hate to be the one to break it to you, but this movie kind of IS about jacob and bella. hence why rob is missing for over 300 pages. and believe it or not- if the people at EW ask him to do a backflip (that im sure he is asked every day by fans, as everyone knows he can) i sure as hell dont fault him for complying. Its not like he does it just to show off, whch is regardless what you would like to believe. he does it for a PHOTOSHOOT. where the point is to make it an INTERESTING photo. So he doesnt just stand around like the rest of the cast? you would fault him for that?
Every time i see taylor, i swear, i love him that little bit more each time. He is so adorable, and grounded. am delighted he is getting his chance to shine after putting so much work into the film.

I don’t think I’ve ever had such wildly opposite feelings for an actor and their character. Taylor strikes me as the kind of guy I could really get along with and enjoy being around, whereas I have never liked Jacob, and my dislike of him has only increased exponentially with each book.
Very impressed with the flips. I have a friend who can do that so i see what kind of effort goes into that. Very cool. I also love that Taylor is looking forward to the tent scene.. not just the sleeping bag part…but the Jacob/Edward conversation… I always felt that was a very powerful scene in the books.

I did read some of those comments at EW. The one about Taylor needing a nosejob – I could almost say the same about Kristen’s. And just saying that you’re not buying it because RPatz isn’t on the cover just shows how shallow some are.
People first of all Taylor was probably told to do a backflip! And second of all he is a proffessional Martial Artist! Goodness he was trained to do that even though it was a little scary!:) And stop talking about how there shoving Taylor down our throats, when during the first movie they were doing the same thing with Rob! You didn’t seem to complain then! The only difference is they talk about Taylor putting on 30lb of pure muscle (*swoon*) instead of Roberts gorgeous hair!!!! I agree! Taylor can cut a back flip in his sleep! He’s got it natural like some cheerleaders, (I guess we should tell them all to stop cutting flips?) I don’t understand why some are making a big deal out of it. If you are a person who can cut flips like that then it’s really nothing to do it. My son and his friend can do the same thing. Oh my God! I love them together. Taylor is the perfect Jacob. I am so glad that they kept him ( I voted on MTV about a million times :]). I can’t wait for New Moon. They have such great chemistry.

With more Taylor in and Rob out, im really starting to like Taylor/Jacob. Im not sure why, as i own a ‘i want to la puch jacob off a cliff’ tshirt… but the character is really starting to grow on me.
One thing i like to point out is how different Taylor acts to Rob! As much as I love Rob, he is really starting to annoy me and the fame is getting to him for example @ the teen choice awards he wouldnt even stand with his cast for an interview. however Taylor is very mature for his ages and seems a really nice guy, he is always so thankful for all of the fans and where he has got through them! I think i may like taylor more than rob!
It was not Rob decision not do to interviews…I guess it was arraned. It’s not like he doesn’t want to do them because he is a big star now, it’s very silly to think that. He didn’t do any interview, even on Comic Con he did only one EW interview and that’s not coincidence.
Also I think it is very sad that people are turning on Rob because he didn’t do interviews. They are trying to give focus to Taylor, they’re pushing Rob aside. And on TCA you could clearly see that his manager was pushing him, he had a car waiting for Kristen and Rob. He couldn’t talk, also before that there was a footage of Rob with some fans, signing things and taking pictures.

I hope that they do another cover right before the movie comes out with Rob, Taylor and Kristen. I always pictured them promoting the movie with all three stars, not just Taylor and Kristen, since Rob is so popular. I’d also like to see the other actors on the magazine cover with them, like Ashley or Dakota. Taylor seems like a great kid and I have nothing against him, but I’m not a big Jacob fan and they’re really pushing him on us this time around. I get that he has a much bigger role in this movie, but truth be told, I’ll be watching to see all of the scenes with the Cullens, the Volturi and the Nomads, not Jacob. That’s just me, though.
The Vampires are the reason I’m going to the movie. I don’t care at all about the wolves, that will be out for a popcorn time for me.

I love Rob Pattinson, he’s humble, quirky, very funny in interviews and you can tell he’s uncomfortable about all the attention. Taylor is his polar opposite, much like Jacob is Edward’s opposite (which is why the casting for those 2 roles were so good!)
Taylor is getting the photo shoots and interviews now because NEW MOON is about Jacob and Bella for the majority of the book. If you want them to stay true to the book that Stephenie Meyer wrote then THERE WILL BE MORE JACOB than Edward in this, hence more interviews with Taylor.
NONE of us Taylor/Jacob fans complained last year when all the interviews were with Rob and Kristen!!!! You know why??? Because Twilight was about Bella and Edward’s relationship growing!!!

I find all this internal bickering depressing. I hate all the ‘who’s better/who’s hotter’ stuff that goes on sometimes. I can’t say I’m Team Switzerland exactly, but I don’t favor the character of Edward over the character of Jacob or vice versa. I love them both for different reasons. I think all three of the main actors do a very nice job, and they are all very young (at least from my elderly perspective)and occasionally we see them that way. The media will jump on whatever bandwagon they think will sell. I’m amazed that this little video caused so much controversy. Personally I enjoyed it. I wish I could have been half as athletic as Taylor is at his age!
It’s good to see Taylor and Kristen getting on so well, just like Jacob and Bella
