Metro Canada wraps up their New Moon series with an interview with Robert Pattinson. Predicably, Rob’s life has changed a bit.
“Are there differences in your preparation to play Edward?
I feel very familiar with the character. I’m a ghost, a figment of Bella’s imagination. I’m not really playing Edward. I’m playing a kind of disrupted memory, which is really strange. I’m trying to play him as if Edward’s constantly thinking that things are going to fall apart. It’s this idyllic relationship on the top. I’m very, very close to the surface. He’s so insecure about everything.”

i <3 robert even more
LOL
is it not amazing that the man who was cast for edward actually *gets* edward?
Yes it is amazing. Hurray for tortured British actors!
Too short!! I want more Rob!
I have to say after reading the other interviews I was really looking forward to this on with Rob. I really felt the others were great, especially Kristan’s. However this one was short and basic questions I feel have been asked of him in an other interview. I wish they had dug a little deeper for this one….
I agree! Metro had a great opportunity and dropped the ball. Rob has more to offer us as an actor/musician than just the character Edward Cullen.
Huge dittos to both Morgan and Ellen!
The ball was dropped on this interview.
Especially as I’ve read several times that NEW MOON is Robert’s favorite book in the Twilight Saga series. I’d liked to have more info.and reasoning behind why he feels that way and if Robert felt the movie captures his personal take on the story.
Way Too short, but see, they still have us intrigued, wanting more. They are keeping the mysteries of the movie alive, holding back on just what Edward/Rob is going to show us. AARRGGG they’ve accomplished their mission, I can’t wait for this movie.
I am so excited for him! He can pick the roles he wants now, and is wanted for plenty of them. Good for you Rob!!!
i agree it was way too short and why do they ask questions we already know the answer to?
“Last time we spoke, you told me that you still walked in the street without anyone recognizing you. I’m assuming that’s changed now.”
???? really?? they really asked him that??
It’s great that life has thrown Mr. P. his choice of movie roles. Not so great about the lack of privacy and paps following everywhere…Must really suck.
Hey, Mr. P.! When you need a break you can meander over to Wisconsin to chill out…We’ll grill you a steak for supper and even let you do the dishes! Thank you for bringing Edward to life for us!
Yes Robs interview was to short..
But on reading this interview I spotted Kristens on the same page and thought “Why not!” Now confession time..Im not the biggest Kristen fan, But on reading her interview I was shocked with how down to earth she is! She really understands how important her part as Bella is and how much the Twilight saga means to the fans, And she sounds like a really nice person! I have now changed my views on Kristen and also told myself not to judge someone you dont even know!.lol.
I liked this interview. You know, something struck me when Rob talked about everyone recognizing him. It’s funny and surprising how one movie, with just one character actually is giving him his claim to fame. Well, Rob dear, good things come to those who wait, and darling, you had the right amount of patience. Congradulations! and I think I speak for everyone here when I say, I can’t wait to see you in other films! you’re fantastic!
Dear Arazcal, Rob said New Moon was his favorite book because he wasn’t in it much! lol!
That’s one way of looking at it.
It’s a given that Edward is in New Moon to a much lesser extent. But, I believe he mentioned appreciating the “angst” and “darkness” that his character,Edward, goes through in New Moon.
Rob stated that he didn’t want Edward to be put in New Moon anymore than he needed to be as it would not be true to the book and it would ruin it.
Yay for MetroCanada
Same old questions. But still good interview.
I agree – love it when an actor gets in the zone and plays his character as if he were the character.
Watched an old Kristen Stewart movie last night – Catch that Kid – was surprised she was the lead in it.
