New Moon Trailer in HD

However, I think I just gained an appreciation of what all the fuss is about. The difference in Hi-Def is amazing!

First of all, I think Chris did an amazing job. He knew how to address the whole phasing thing and from what I’ve read he has also adressed the absence of Edward, giving us more than the book originaly had.
I also think this is the first trailer tease and once Chris has the Itali scenes done, then we will get the second trailer tease. Can’t wait!

The ridiculous advertising and comment begging is getting in the way of the experience.
OK, I have watched this trailer a few times =) …I found that the scene with Jacob it is 2 different cuts. One shirtless and then when he jumps off the porch shape-shifting into a wolf. He is wearing a tank top. Also the scene with Bella and Laurent…Bella is wearing her bookbag…and the part where she is running away she does not have her bookbag…So there is a few clips that make this trailer up!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE!! Also did anyone else get goosebump at the end when Jacob phases?? Thank you Stephenie Meyer!!
Totally excited, but can already tell they are WAY off…Bella was in the meadow alone, not on a creek by Jacob’s house..but oh, well, I’ll still be there 11/20….
She’s alone with Laurent… in a “meadow”… the part where she says “Jake, Run!” is when Paul phases close to her and Jacob protects her (I’m guessing)… two separate events… I think they are doing a great job!
she is in the meadow. those are two different scenes put together to add suspense. watch the trailer again, and you’ll see bella’s wardrobe differences.
Didn’t we learn from Twilight that they can’t fit everything in the movie exactly as it happens in the book???

What is it Bella says at about 37 38 39 seconds? Alice says “There’s a cake too” and Bella says something I can’t tell and than she says “you guys don’t even eat”

I liked the trailer. The scene with Jake is awesome. I’m a little disappointed with Kristin in the birthday scenes. Instead of seeming embarrassed when she asks Edward to kiss her, she seems really afraid or sad. I don’t know…just my opinion. I’m still not seeing her as Bella.
the way i see it is that she is suppose to be afraid because she knows Edward will be thinking that they shouldn’t be together. I am assuming that this request for the kiss is when he takes her home after she is almost eaten by Jasper. IMO

The HD is amazing. I thought too, how much difference could it make? Especially on my computer screen? But…wow. Seriously. That’s amazing!
For the most part I do love the trailer but I’m still a little headshy about Melissa’s script and there’s a minor amount of cringe factor in Laurent’s line “You’re so mouthwatering.” Seriously?
It’s actually in the book – Laurent tells Bella
“Well, You’ve caught me at a bad time, Bella. I didn’t come to this place on Victoria’s mission – I was hunting. I’m quite thirsty, and you do smell … simply mouthwatering.”
That IS true. It is disorienting to go from reading the book to saying some of those lines out loud – I guess it sounds different in our minds. haha!

Love it! Love how they retained a similar sounding twilight trailer background music. The birthday scene is really edge of the seat stuff. Know this is only a trailer and bits have been edited out, so can imagine how awesome the final finished movie will be.

I hate how awk. the rest of the family is standing there while Jasper is attacking…
you have to remember tho that Edward could read his mind making him able to react and save bella from jasper. The others are just catching on…with the exception of Alice who I am sure is in shock. Peter said one of his favorite scenes tho was when he held Jasper back in an interview during the MTV awards so I’m guesssing they didn’t stand back for too long.
Another thing to keep in mind when watching the scene: it’s happening in “vampire time” each action or reflex is executed in a millisecond as opposed to human time so while it may look like the Cullens are having no response, once again Edward beat everybody to the end conclusion having already seen what Jasper was thinking of.
You know.. the whole best offense is a great defense

Yeah i know! cause in the book bella mentions a few times how jacob has to lower his head to be level with hers. And how in New Moon people mistook them for bears, so I imagined them to be around the size of a bear. In my opinion the one in the trailer just looks like a regular sized wolf. But I am still really Really excited for the movie!!!! Nov. 20th!
Watch the trailer again. i think you may have a different perspective of jacob in wolf form when you see that the frame is shot pretty low to the ground as opposed from a higher perspective. He lands in a defensive crouch,ready to spring forward. That may be why he looks smaller than you think he should be. I think that it’s way too early to judge or guess the size of the wolves.
I’m going to trust the vision of Chris Weitz, he promised Stepahanie he’d honor her book and I think that based on what we’ve been shown he honored that promise. We’ll all be so amazed come November.
Notice that the wolf was crouched down, if you pause the screen just right it actually looks kind a tall. But even if they don’t make it supper tall, they’re just trying to avoid supper cheesyness. Even though it wouldn’t be. But now they have our reactions and still have time to go back and maybe use some of our suggestions for the wolves. This is probably why they released pics of them soo soon, they wanted to know how they’d done and what they could improve on.

I WOULD like it if the wolves were bigger, but I AM scared of the cheesiness. I just wonder if Chris could pull if off.

Wow! HD makes a whole lot of difference, I love the trailor even more now..
Edward is hot as usual, Alice’s birthday decorations are beautiful, Edward is beautiful, Rob-Kristen have electrifying chemistry, Edward is amazing, Red-eyed-Laurent is more believable as a blood-thirsty vampire then he was in twilight, Edward is breath-taking, I still don’t care for Taylor’s acting though the werewolf is less creepy than I thought it would be, the Cullens look great, I love Rob, and my heart goes out to Bella and Edward’s pain..
Oh! And did I mention ? Rob is hot..:-p

Every time I see the trailer I get all giddy. Can’t wait!
I hope they don’t forget how cuddly werewolf Jacob is in Eclipse and that he has to lower his head to lick Bella’s face. I visualized him much shaggier, larger and bear-like.
Think positive thoughts..it’s going to be O.K.
Keep in mind Jake’s hair was newly cut when he attacks Laurent with the rest of the pack. He had only become a “werewolf” about a week or so before the attack. In Eclipse, Jake is growing his hair out because he thinks that Bella likes him with longer hair. I think that that scene with Bella and Jake in wolf form will be beautiful and yes, Jake will be as cuddly as they can make him. And if the scene doesn’t come out as we anticipate, we can always re-read the chapter and see it in our mind’s eye any time we want.
Honestly I already have the HD trailer in 1080p on our PS3. All 148 MB of it and so far we have watched it two dozen times.

There seems to be a problem with the video, it wont play…but i’ve already seen the teaser and I think the wolf looks pretty darn good. I was praying that they didn’t look like the UNDERWORLD werewolves (great movie though) and I’m guite happy with the outcome. I do, however, have a little problem with Kristin’s acting in the birthday scene when she says “ouch, papercut”..there was no emotion, it sounded like she was reading from a Q-card.

AND THEN THERE IS…. the extremely fake looking paper cut phenomena… that looked pretty wack.
EEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! So excited! The dialogue is admittedly, a little cringe worthy because unfortunately Rosenberg is still the screenwriter. I think Taylor looks great! I like the phasing. The actors seem a little stiff though, but hopefully they’ll loosen up throught the rest of the movie.
Jacob is pretty much the only good part of this trailer. His body is putting Edward’s to shame! I think he might steal all the scenes in this movie…
yes, i agree in reality that Taylor is prob gaining some MAJOR popularity (not to mention naught thoughts) from his increase in body size…..BUT they are keeping true to the book where Edward is suppose to be tall and lean whereas Jake is bigger and muscular…”My money is on the Big Indian” New Moon,pg 90.
I also think that I won’t ever be able to buy Laurent. Maybe it has to do with his eyes (don’t think they’re that great.) Or how he’s paler now than he was in Twilight. Oh well, that’s the only MAJORLY bothersome thing to me. And this is the last movie he’s in, too. Two thumbs for the trailer overall.

The shaggier Jacob is when he lets his hair grow back out. He cut it in New Moon when he first changes, but says later he grows it out b/c she likes it better longer….

HD made a wonderful difference…I think the wolf looks fine, especially considering its very early in the production. And Jacob looks very, very good.
The werewolf just looks like a dog or a wolf, not an actual mythical creature. Its supposed to be big! That’s a real disappointment. The rest of it is looking good. Love being able to actually see Laurent’s red eyes this time. Jasper’s hair though. He still needs a better wig.
Did we read the same book? Jake in wolf form is not supposed to resemble a “mythical creature”. He and the pack are described as being horse-sized wolves.NewMoon “werewolves” are not going to resemble those found in Van Helsing or Underworld. They aren’t the same creatures. Just as Stephanie “revamped” the Vampires she lets Jake believe that he’s become something other than he realy is. It’s only when Edward lets the “wolf out of the bag” in Breaking Dawn that Jake learns he’s a shape shifter. Stay positive… New Moon and Chris Weitz are not going to let us down, but first we have to give him a chance
I have to admit that I’m a little surprised by some of the comments posted. So far we’ve only been given one trailer, a brief glimpse in New Moon and already some people are ready to rip it or parts of it. Could we please keep an open mind and give Chris Weitz a break.I’m chaulking this up to people being afraid of CHANGE. It’s not a dirty word. The series must evolve as new elements are added. New Moon is not Twilight. It will be a different movie as each new director brings a piece of themselves and hopefully adds something new to the film.
When all is said and done are we really concerned that Laurent’s eyes are redder than in Twilight? We could debate that they shouldn’t be red at all as he is THIRSTY when he encounters Bella in the meadow. Personally, I’m just looking forward to seeing the characters that I love so much be brought back to life once again. I hope and pray that New Moon bashing is not going to be a daily part of the posts I read here at the Lex. We have a long time until November and I’d much rather read how people are getting psyched and hyped instead of filled with dread.

You guys should check out the clip that is advertised in this video as “Jacob Black transformation in slow motion.” It’s really cool. It’s funny because Bella’s “dive” so to speak is in slow motion too, and you can totally see her underwear popping out of her jeans. Oops! Blooper!
I pray they fix the CGI wolf. It is by no means terrifying and could use some help. Please Summit, hear my cry!
I think the trailer was great.Remember when Jacob’s hair is short is wolf hair is short and he let’s his hair grow in eclipse because Bella liked his hair longer and his wolf hair was longer then any of the other wolves. So the wolves may look quite different in the movie. Plus this is our first look at the transformation it may look a little better in the movie. I just saw The Golden Compass again and the CGI bear and animals were just spectacular so I’m sure things will work out fine.
