Deadbolt features Quileute Legends

The Deadbolt discusses Native American lore and Quileute legends and how they play an important role in the Twilight saga – both in the books and the films.  Read the full story here.

“What’s different about how the legend and lore play out in New Moon with regard to the actual transformation, as compared to other werewolf based stories and films, is that it goes well beyond the visual transformation to a intriguing human level of emotion.”

THE STORY WAS VERY INTERESTING. EVEN IF STEPH MADE HER OWN VERSION I’M SURE THE QUILETTES AND OTHER NATIVE AMERICANS ARE BENEFITING FROM THE ADDED AWARENESS. THE LEGENDS REALLY ARE FACINATING IN AND OF THEMSELVES, AND NOW CURIOSITY WILL DRIVE MERE HUMANS LIKE MYSELF TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER. LOVED THE ARTICLE.

Like most works of fiction people get their ideas from real facts or fables. Stephanie Myers Twilight took a simple Native American legend
(http://www.quileutes.com/native-americanlegends/quileute-indian-legends.html) and put a mondern spin on it If you take the time to read other Quileute legends you’ll find that she did her homework and much more credit is due to the quileute tribe.
