First Kellan Lutz announced that he is going to Italy with plans to sleep on Robert Pattinson’s hotel room floor. Now Nikki Reed has disclosed to MTV that she is headed to sunny Italy too. After half the winter and all spring in cold and damp Vancouver, can you blame them?
Here’s what Nikki had to say to MTV:
“Put it this way: I am not in any of the scenes in Italy, but we’ve already made sure that I am going to Italy while they shoot that,because I am sort of obsessed with that portion of the book…”
So Italian fans, on last count, the only Cullens not showing up in Italy are Jackson Rathbone (who is busy filming in Philly), Peter Facinelli, and Liz Reaser.
Portions of Jackson’s new movie is being filmed in and around Reading, PA where I currently live. I’ll attempt to see if I can figure out via the news on sites and such. I tried in April to go to a location but they had the set closed tight.
I wish I could go back to Italy, I hope they have a blast over there!! Which I’m sure they will!!

Why does it matter if she goes?
Because she’s supposed to be professional about this. If you’re shooting a movie and you’re going on location, and you’re not required in any of the scenes, why are you there? This is not a personal vacation, it’s work. If she REALLY wants to go to Italy, she can go on her own time. And it sounded like Peter really wanted to go to Italy as well, but because his character is not in any of those scenes he’s not going, so why is Nikki and Kellan for that matter (I love him, but I’m not going to discriminate) going. If they are paying their own way, then fine, but I have a feeling they all ganged up on Chris and begged him until he caved.
I think she really does want to be there to see the filming and let’s face it, Italy is awesome. So what if she wants to hang out with Rob and Kristen in Italy? I don’t see anything bad in that, I’m sure they’re friends so she’ll be there supporting them and hanging out. If i were her i would’ve gone too, it’s Italy and the shooting of it will be interesting. I think she is paying her own way and maybe Kellan, it wouldn’t make sense for them not too unless Summit’s super nice and generous.

I know it’s a free country to travel too, but I think this has more to do with Rob and Kristen going than her actually wanting to see Italy. You really think if it was just the crew going over there for scenic shots she would be so desperate to go. I don’t think so.
Amen to THAT! I saw this one coming a mile off. They couldn’t have kept Nikki from going to Italy with a baseball bat. She has suctioned herself onto Kristen in the desperate hopes of getting Rob and isn’t going to let Kristen out of her sight. AND, I don’t believe for a second that Nikki wouldn’t JUMP at the chance to be in this part of the movie.. Anything else is a lie. Kellan is going to Italy to hang with his buds. Nikki has an agenda. I think it is REALLY ridiculous that people have ANYTHING negative to say about Nikki rihgt now. She is an awesome actress, she is SUPER sweet to the fans ((and this is something I actually KNOW to be true)) AND she WANTS to stick to the story!! “I don’t want to be in more of the movie just to be in more of the movie — and I think if they do that with any of the other actors that it is ridiculous, because I think that the only way that we can succeed is to stick to the books,” she insisted. “If you are worried about how to please the fans, you will fail if you don’t stick to the books.” WHAT MORE CAN WE ASK FOR!?! If Kellan is crashing on Rob’s hotel floor that means it was a last minute decision to go, maybe after he found out Nikki was going and whoever else was going he decided to go. Nikki sounds like somebody who booked her ticket well in advance, which means that she was always planning on going. Family and another director are not the same thing as a friend who can’t detach herself from her BFF. This is not a trip of leisure, it’s business. When your family and friends go on a business trip do you tag along as well? The budget for New Moon is tight enough as is, I don’t want Summit spending extra money on stuff they don’t need to like extra security because you have cast members tagging along who don’t need to be there.
Now see this is my problem. This is all speculation. But the speculation is all negative. We take one article read in to it what we want and then suddenly Nikki’s a leech. And I have no problem with you saying you want to Summit to save money but why make it a personal attack on another person when other cast members are doing the same thing. My opinion of Nikki is based on what I’ve seen of her throughout this whole thing. Nikki ONLY does things unless Rob and Kristen are there, that’s why I believe the only reason she wants to go Italy is to be seen with them. Kellan has done more than his share of promotion for Twilight. Nikki has not. You’re exactly right. Kellan IS one of the cast members that does a lot of promotional stuff for Twilight. How much promotional stuff has Nikki done? If Rob and Kristen aren’t there, she’s not there. It is all about getting attention. And like I said before, Peter sounded like he really wanted to go to Italy as well, BUT because Carlisle is NOT in Italy, Peter is not going, and that’s how it should be. Either take the people who NEED to be there or invite the whole cast.
Peter is also one of the older cast members….he has a wife and kids, and he’s been doing a ton of promo anyway. The nonessential people going seem to be young, fun and able to travel and enjoy life. I say go! Enjoy Italy! And support your friends and bring back a great movie!!!
we all have people that annoy us in life, that grate on are nerves, that we perceive to be less then ideal but that does not give us the right to trash them in a public forum. we wouldnt act that way with people we know. we can have opinions, even negative ones of public figures with out attacking them.
Regarding who is paying for Nikki’s ticket I very much doubt it is Summit, they are probably sick of her antics. But I would not be surprised if MTV was buying her ticket and I also think she has been feeding stories to Laniey (judging from the tone of Lainey’s articles)and undoubtedly the paps too. So finding someone to give her a ticket couldn’t have been hard.

Where’s the love guys? What we all love is the twilight series. What is all this talk about Summit paying? Who cares!? Summit should go over there….rent a huge house…invite the entire cast to come and enjoy the country…bond and support one another… and develop lasting relationships that will convey on screen! I am not sure Rosalie will be all over Breaking Dawn. Her main part is as protector of the unborn Nessie. I just doubt that they draw out that part of the movie because if you poll fans on what parts they want in, that is not going to rate too highly. Many fans were grossed out by the whole pregnancy descriptions concept and if they didn’t like reading about it they aren’t going to want to watch it. They’ll want the wedding, of course the honeymoon, the big fight scene, Nessie acting cute and bonding with Jacob and Bella and Edward living happily ever after. Unless they want a 4 hour movie they will need to skip over the pregnancy part.

I don’t think that the entire friends cast is still in close contact with each other. Besides Nikki and Kristen are already friends so I don’t think that they need to bond any further. Also, it seems to me that the cast is tight enough and they don’t need special little trips in order to solidify their friendship. I also don’t think that any of this will help out with Breaking Dawn…if they actually move forward with it.

Just a footnote 1 Nikki is likely paying for her tickets 2 she did promo at conventions outside the us. Nikki and Kristen travel together all the time. They spent christmas together in Africa.it would also be beneficial for the cast to be seen as much as possible.
All the people being touchy about this are taking it WAY out of hand. She wants to see Italy. I do too! She’s an sctress, she can afford the trip and she’s not going as Rosalie. It is always better to work the media than have the media work you. My job was working the game.Did it for several years of my life. Actually truth be told we had a whole time where we didn’t see Nikki. Out of everyone on the team I would love to see more media coverage of Nikki, Kellan, Ashley and Jackson. The interview with MTv was set up as it was a publicity request. Why wouldn’t she say where she was going. I am sure that “they” (Summit) have a trick or two up there sleeves. It’s called exposure exposure exposure. I think these guys had better take every opportunity they are presented and run with it. They had better be super sweet to the press, to the point of nauseum. There will always be rumours about actors and actresses on set and off set. Its the nature of the business.
OK so let’s say you were in her shoes and had the opportunity to go at Summit’s expense, you’d say no? Of course not…no one would. You would jump at the opportunity. And looking at things in perspective, a couple of thousand dollars is not going to make any difference in the grand scheme of things for the NM budget…

I think Nikki is not happy when she it out of the loop and not getting the attention. So by going to Italy she can stay in the spotlight. I think Nikki’s biggest problem is she is not discrete at all when talking to the press. Given that she is a smart woman, I highly doubt this is unintentional. She does name drop a lot which I think is why a lot of people have issues with her, it can come across as insincere. That is fine, Hollywood works this way, you get attention based on who you know (note the increase in pap photos of her after the Nikki/Rob rumours came about), but it is going to attract negative attention from people who recognize the game.
Discretion is a learned art form. At this point there is little to use discretion on. I think the fact that Kellan is going over and Nikki is going over and Ashley will be there with Kristen and Rob, sounds like a media coup, if you will. Its also very very likely that that both Kellan and Nikki paid for their own tickets. Budgets for travel are pretty much set in stone with very few variations. On the flip side of that I am sure that its noce to be young and be able to just hang out and do whatever… whenever. I hope they all get chance to celebrate Rob’s birthday together and in between shoots get excursions done.

Honestly, this is ridiculous and a HUGE double standard is being applied here. Kellan Lutz does significantly more press, red carpets, and conventions than Nikki Reed and she’s being labeled a media whore for stating that she is going to Italy. Seeminly Kellan gets off scot free and he’s mooching off of Rob’s floor which is being paid for by Summit.
We are mystified. No movie company is in the business of sending a minor actress in a film on a vacation. For that matter they are not in the business of sending major actors on vacation.
Regardless, these are two adults who are going to Italy on their own dimes, may or may not be staying with generous friends who are also adults, and they are in the business and know how to stay out of the way.
We are now locking these comments as we are utterly embarrassed by many of them.
