Starting on Saturdays the Lexicon will be featuring interviews and polls based on Twilight related music. To give you an idea of what you can expect we will be giving you a double feature this week! Check back in a bit for the second part of our feature.
We have a fantastic interview from MuteMath who contributed the song Spotlight to the Twilight Soundtrack. The Deluxe soundtrack has the Son Lux Remix version of Spotlight.
You create music in a unique way. How do you come up with the various ways to create sound?Thanks. It’s simple, we try to use technology, both new and out of date to try to find new sounds, samplers, synths, birds, vampires…the list goes on.
How did Mutemath come to be and what does the name mean?
The name came about after me filling pages of a notebook with possible names. At first we called ourselves “Math” when it was just Paul and me. We settled on MuteMath because we thought it looked good in print.

Thanks for adding the music of the Twilight world to the Lexicon! Stephenie is so heavily influenced by music as she writes, it’s only natural that the sights with a true understanding of the series would give a “nod” to this medium. Thanks for being the BEST Twilight coverage!!
I’m so glad you got an interview with MuteMath! Spotlight was my favorite song on the soundtrack before the movie came out, I loved it even more in the movie (I wish I could have the version from the film, it’s really awesome), and then I found their album at the bookstore I work at and it’s so amazing! Thanks TL!

Lexicon is the best
I was introduced to MuteMath by the Twilight Soundtrack, but after getting their self-titled CD I am absolutely in love with them!
There are a few songs on it which are great for the Twilight Saga. “Noticed” is totally from Midnight Sun (chapter “Invitations”). And “Typical” reminds me of Bella from the “Shiny” chapter in BD.
I highly recommend the CD to all Twilight fans!!!

Consequently…I think their song “Chaos” would be a great song for Bella, dealing with Jacob as a wolf and Victoria trying to get at her.

Awesome!! I actually saw them in concert last march in 08′ I really liked them. Iam glad that they got a spot on the soundtrack.. I agree that Music is a HUGE part of this Saga, and I love it.. I love noticed and Control.. Noticed would work for midnight sun.. I know that she has a song called noticed by Gomez on her Midnight Sun Playlist which I love… Along with Buying the soundtracks.. I have made my own mixes well A twilight one and mixed it with Midnight Sun.. I am working on a New Moon one.. It is pretty much done.. ..

I’m such a nerd… xD I got into mutemath after hearing Typical on the Dicovery Channel last spring. I LOVED that commercial because of that song! and I HAD to find out who did it… and if they had more tunage…Thankfully I found out who it was and I have been a mutemath fan ever since XD I could listen to their tunes for hours!
I was really excited to see that they had a song in Twilight and I think it is The BEST on there! Yays!
