Enjoy the film everyone!!!!
I just saw it last night!! It was amazing!!! I’m like freaking out over here!! It’s like, i thought i would really hate it, but OMG NO. I loved it so much! and i was so sad when it was over!! I’m so wanting that sequal!
@devon- Agreed agreed!!! I thought the sparkling effect was really good!! OMG That’s what i think i was worried about the most. But yeah, it was nice and he was in fact “beautiful.” :p
and agreed krystol, I didn’t really feel the “cheeseyness” at all.
Still, I really loved it!! I can’t say that enought!!
Well enjoy it you guys because it was amazing!! XD
I loved the movie!!!
Oh man… Rob Pattinson was absolutely amazing!!and Kristen did an okay job…
I was so upset that I had to use the restroom half way through though… lol. Anyway, I’m gonna go see again…
I’m seeing the movie tonight with my husband who bought us tickets. He’s read all of the movies and is just as interested as I was. By the way, I’m giving a few Twilight books away over at my blog, just hop on over and tell me what you thought of the movie. I can’t wait to see it! My preconceptions is that it looks like a Smallville episode. We shall see . . .
Seriously guys?!?! Seriously?!?! How will I survive this whole day sitting at the computer at work without the Lex let alone most of the day tomorrow GAHH Anyway yes the movie was cheesy and yes I loved it and yes I will probably see it every day this weekend! Until tomorrow my friends <3
I saw the midnight show and I absolutely loved it! The “diamond” effect was very subtle and perfect. If my 8th graders find out I went to the movie…they’ll just die…lol can’t wait to see their reaction!
Btw, Kristen picked the song that was played during their dance at the prom, and I think it was the perfect song (I’m pretty sure it’s actually a poetically political song, but you can also take the lyrics to be a “loss of innocence” tone). I keep replaying that scene in my head with the music. That, and the Muse song during the baseball scene. Which was awesome/hilarious
Okay i think that the cheesy parts made it great! i am a big fan of Cheese- I didn’t feel like i was watching a Vampire movie- it seem to move at a good pace- fast at times- I think that it was awesome! but if you never read the books- i don’t think you will get it.. and what about that KISS- WOW.
the baseball scene was my favorite- it made me totally fall in love with jasper
This is pretty random, but funny-
Zac Efron on Robert Pattinson-
Meanwhile, it seems as if Zac is a bit relieved to have someone to share the title of male teen heartthrob with him – “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson.
“I’m stoked for him,” Zac told press at the GQ Men of the Year Awards. “I’m gonna be there. I’ll be watching ‘Twilight’ in theaters – probably opening night.”
omg!! im going to see it tonite!! all this post of how great it is. is makeing me itch at my desk at work.. i want to leave work now!!!!
I loved it. I can’t understand those who hated it because it was not the EXACT same as the book-that would be a 18 hour movie. It did great and NO movie is as great as the book. This was true to the book for fans of the book. A movie made for true fans.
The entire theater of screaming and squealing and laughing girls really ruined the whole experience for me
I am totally going to go see it again.. maybe sometime during school hours would be good! lol
I totally cheered when Solomon had his one line at First Beach. I want to see Solomon get all pack leader-ish
LOL
I saw the midnight showing of Twilight last night. I LOVED IT!!!! Good job, you guys! You all brought the characters to life and I lived in the movie almost as much as I lived in the book. Rob and Kristen were excellant as Edward and Bella. I will see it again this weekend. YAY!!!!! My Twilight really IS on the big screen.
I TOTALLY LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!
But I do have to say something to those of you who haven’t seen it: Please DO NOT bring your books along to the theater with you and try to follow along with the movie!!!! For one, its rude and distracting to people sitting around you! Second, the movie, while in my opinion stays very faithful to the book and was an awsome adaptation, isn’t the book and so not everything will be completely the same and not every single scene from the book will be in the movie.
There were probably about 7 to 8 people in my theater who followed along with the book and then made little comments when something wasn’t EXACTLY the way it was in the book. My friends, (who were in two different theaters) said the same thing about people bringing their books to follow along with the movie. So please just don’t do that. If you go into the movie with an open mind and heart (and understand because of the small budget they simply couldn’t add more scenes) you will enjoy the movie so much more and have a much better experience.
Loved it and plan on seeing it over and over and over….
I loved this movie immensely it was absolutely worth it. I LOVED IT! I plan to go see it as well.
I’m glad everyone who has seen it enjoyed, but I don’t understand how some people thought this movie was absolutely wonderful and worth it to actually go see it over and over. I am a huge Twilight fan and can not get enough of the books. But this movie was a total disappointment. I know it was low budget and I expected chessiness and I knew it would not really follow the book, but it was worse than I ever thought it could be. It makes me want to read the book again just so my perception of it is not tainted from this poorly made movie. The entire theatre was in hysterics when it definitely was not a comedy. At least I know the sequels can only get better
I must say, the movie gets better every time I see it. I got to watch it last Thursday and I’m pretty sure my eyes were glued to the screen the entire time. I absolutely loved it. I watched it again Wednesday night and then again Thursday afternoon and yet again at the midnight. I pick up something different every time and just keeps getting better for me.
It’s a great adaptation from the book…the movie would have been way too long if they put everything in there that was in the book. I think the story was told and that’s what matters.
My favorite scene though is at the end of the ballet scene when Bella has all those different flashes of her life and “Let Me Sign” is playing….oh how I love that part =)
While 2 hours worth of movie time can hardly
say everything that a 500 page book portrays,
I came out of the theatre with the impression that
“Twilight the Movie” was a fair enough representation
of the novel, for the 1st movie on a lower budget to start out with. I found my husband, someone who’s never read the books, smiling and laughing throughout most of the scenes. My friend from work (who also hasn’t read the books either) is going with me on Wednesday to see it (so i can judge a female’s reaction i suppose).
I will definately go to see the sequels.
I can only see the franchise getting better provided
the larger budgets they will be able to work with after
the 1st movie. All in all, i enjoyed the ride
I had a great time at the midnight showing in Peoria, AZ. I love the show especially as it represented a film that was made with it’s small budget and the fan base exploding virtually after production. Cool they added scenes post production.
I can’t wait to purchase this DVD it’s exciting to hear Catherine Hardwicke has included lots of deleted scenes. I would have stayed another hour to watch those. Tip: Don’t leave the show before the credits are shown. Loved the scenes when they played the soundtrack bits.
Lot’s of men were in the audience and that was amazing to me. They’re was originally one time showing until 2 weeks ago then 5 showings and I heard at 11pm they opened the sixth showing.
I’m supporting the film and will see it at least 3 times this weekend so we’ll get a big budget release of NEW MOON..can’t wait to see the character development.
my only REAL complaint….whoever picks trailers for in front of the movie dosen’t realize that Twilight is first and foremost a Love story.
It was impressive. I totally loved it. Came out a lot better than i had expected. True, there was certain cheeziness that was clearly shown throughout the movies, especially the scenes where Carlisle changes them. That i think wasn’t needed. It probably would have been better in New Moon i think, when Jacob is explaining the treaty and stuff like that. the kiss,…. WoW… the soundtrack fit well with all the scenes. I find when i listen to the songs i see the movie in my head now. The fight scene… impressive. All in all i think its a grade B. Love it, Love it.
I just saw it last night. I’m not in the teen crowd, I’m a Mom. I thought the movie was great. I didn’t have too high expectations. I knew it wouldn’t be as good as the book, so no surprise there. I thought it was well cast and worth seeing for any fan. I know I’m older, but man I think Rob is H-O-T, or is it b/c he’s playing Edward? Either way, wow.
I too saw it last night at midnight. It was a little difficult to hear lines with all the loud swooning. =) I thought they sqeezed the first half of the book into like 15mins. I agree with all the posts that movie got much better after the baseball scene. All of this said though. I still loved it and will watch it again!
oh and the sparkle, i think, could have been a little beter. Like dazzling and blinding effect hahah ^_^ but thats me. It looked like he was perspiring or something. . .
Ooh! I envy you all! I live in Honduras and so the movie doesn’t come out until January 16!! NO
I wish i lived in the US so i would see the movie already! but instead i went to college with my twilight shirt!
I can’t wait to see it again WITHOUT SCREAMING GIRLS. All the giggling drove me insane. After hearing a few drones from my friends that it was “cheesy” I simply said, “The book is cheesy. You didn’t realize that before?”
If my 23 year old husband and 16 year old brother enjoyed it, it’s pretty good. Both men have not read the books but were both impressed.
Was it perfect? No.
Was their romance captured exactly the same way as in the book? No
Did they do a good job of capturing the essence in the movie? Absolutely.
For anyone who hated the special effects, I say this. Vampires sparkling. Realistic? NO. So get over it already.
I am so glad that many of us took everything as it came. I came in with low expectations because I didn’t want to ruin it for myself. However, I can honestly tell you that I was very very impressed. It was beautiful. The shots were gorgeous.
If this is what they did on a low budget, I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT THEY DO WITH A BIG ONE!
Any one know if the Box Office Movie Results have been posted??? Or will we know it on monday or something?? I wanna know thats why…..
Natalie Dority: Do I think the movie was the best thing I’ve ever seen? No. Do I think it was an oscar performance? No. However, I’m a fan, and I think the movie was the best they could do with the limited budget they had. Normally, I don’t go see movies in the theater more than once, even when I’m blown away. Even Harry Potter flicks. I’m going to see this movie more than once in the theater because the series is special to me, and I want to support the making of sequels. I’ll gladly give them my money so that they have a larger budget to work with next time around so the sequels are even better than the first. If you want to see the sequels so much, and you didn’t care much for Twilight, you should still go see it again. It’s kind of like rereading Breaking Dawn – you read it the first time to see what it’s like and once the shock wears off, read it again to fully appreciate and absorb. Same with the movie. You have to love it for what it is, and I’m grateful for the effort they all put into it.
i’m still thinking it over. it was great, but soo cheesy. but definitely worth seeing again. like everyone is saying, if this is what it’s like with the low budget i can’t wait to see New Moon.
some good things:
Charlie’s and Bella’s relationship was perfect. they really got that down.
And did anyone else absolutely LOVE Mike Newton?? He cracked me up!
Did anyone notice the “She’s not LIKE us Edward” scene (as shown in the trailers) missing? The more I think back on it, the more I don’t remember if I saw it or not?
hahaha Mike was awesome. Although, I think I would have liked to see him with a little more angst/peevishness about Bella with Edward – he was all jokester. Which was fine, he was funny! I was just expecting more of the sullenness from the book.
They also left out Edward stroking Bella’s face in the hospital, and his line at the restaurant “I feel…very protective of you.” There must be a crapload of deleted scenes, which invigorates me to no end to own this dvd when it comes out.
We won`t be seeing the movie in Serbia until the January or February next year. First impressions of the lucky ones confused us. It seems that the best thing to do is to go with very low expectations. So disapointing…
I heard something like 60million for last night alone.. 4 million just last night..
sorry not 60.. 4 million.. 4 haha wow.. my mind isn’t working today because of NO SLEEP
Brianna, I am on the same page as you are. I really hope they lose Catherine Hardwicke and Melissa Rosenberg and start over when they tackle New Moon. I went with low expectations and was not disappointed.
I saw it last night at ten p.m., and I found it hilarious. To me, the movie is basically a parody of the book. I’ll definitely watch it again, because I haven’t laughed that much during a movie in a long time. MILD SPOILER:::: The ‘fallen angel’ owl wings behind Edward, anyone? I cracked up.
Um, I love Twilight…but I can’t lie. I thought it was some of the worst acting/directing I’ve seen in a while. I really don’t see how Stephanie Meyer thought it was a good representation of the amazing books she wrote. boo.
Now, it is my understanding that only the actors are signed for the movie- not the directors right?
My new channel is reporting that they are starting to film New moon tomorrow- but there have been no official Press releases or anything from Summit- we should be looking for that in the next few days i think. I think they could do what they do with harry potter- and change Directors( i wish they would have for the last two- because i dislike David Yates) I think that summit should snag Alfonso Cuaron for New moon- he did good with the wolves and such on Prisoner of azkaban and stuff- that is my favorite Harry potter movie or Mike Newell was really good Goblet of fire is awesome.
Catherine seems too Indy for something as Mainstream and twilight- but regardless there was no way i wasn’t going to Love the movie- and the cheese made me laugh- i was Ok with that- i’ll go see it again.. a few times and hope for better Specials. I did like the dream that Bella had- hot emo edward much? daaanng.
I totally agree with Malomar’s review. I also agree that the relationship between Bella and Charlie was perfect, though I would have liked to see her cook for him. And the kiss between E and B….um I think I breathed “oh my god” out loud. It was intense.
I understand that it’s a two hour movie, and that’s pretty long for a “teen flick” but the meadow scene was rushed. Did anyone feel that way? That scene was a moment of declaration for them both, a time for them to confess their love to each other. So I guess I thought the scene would have been more intense and put together.
all i can say is you guys who have seen it are so lucky and i hope that you relaise this. i have to wait a whole month!!!! and i dont have the lex today to make me feel better. owww. i can not wait for the 19th december!
you know, ive never been rude on here before, but this really bugs me. you DO know not everyone lives in the us right? cause those of us who dont (everyone i know, anyway) are sitting at home needing entertainment. so you know.. the forums would be kinda nice to have?
Haha Beth people actually bought the books to the theatre too funny how could someone watch the movie and read at the same time–derf lol. I’m going tomorrow in NYC probably a 7:30- 8:00pm unfortunately I dont know which theatre ahem since the forums are down ahem why are they down when people are suppose to be gathering–genius. Yeah anyway I’m trying to convince more people to come with the three of us but they’re not too crazy about vampire movies. I told them it was a love story so they might or might not who knows. I finished my version of the bella bracelet since I was going to shell out $75 for one.

I wanted to ask if anyone was going to the gathering in NYC that’s meeting 7:30 or 8:00 which theatre is everybody going to? Thanks.
I’m dieing over here! I want to go see is so bad. We aren’t going until 10:10 tonight because my friend wants to celebrate ‘Happy Twilight Day’ with drinks. Haha.
I CAN’T WAIT!
Twilight Srbija: The reason why to go with low expectations is because if you going thinking that this movie is going to be EPIC in it’s undertaking, you’ll be disappointed. It’s good to keep in mind these points: it had a VERY low budget (30 million is hardly anything for a movie), and they can’t put every single stinking page of the book in a 2 hour movie – it’s impossible. You have to keep an open mind that there is no way it can be exactly like the book, because the movie would have been 5 hours or more long if it was. Some things are changed around, like their conversation about Edward being a vampire, when the kiss happens, etc. in order to be time-efficient. They have to. They had to leave things out as well, all together. You just can’t go into watching this movie thinking that it will be spectacularly EXACTLY like the book – no book-to-movie adaptation is ever perfect (although, 1995 A&E production of Pride and Prejudice is as close to perfection as is humanly possible in regards to adapting the book to the movie, but it was like 6 hours long!). You will be disappointed if you have too high expectations for this movie being perfectly in sync with the book; that being said, I think it was wonderful and they an awesome job with everything they DID have to work with. My friend went in expecting to be disappointed because she wanted too much out of it, and she WAS disappointed. I also had a friend go that never read the books and loved the movie. My husband also went and read the books, and he feels the same way I do.
Comment: I am telling you the truth, My boss was Stephanie Meyer’s boyfriend in High School and prom date. He let me interview him about a month ago, and might be the inspiration for Edward. Please come and check it out at
temparoo.blogspot.com
I had a picture but someone working on her biography made me take it down
Lynzeee: wait…Goblet of Fire was “awesome?” I thought that was THE WORST HP movie so far. They really effed that one up. I think Chris Colombus did a great job, wish they wouldn’t have switched.
Hey guys, can’t wait for Twilight!!!!!
I’ve been so excited, I made two video montages this morning haha.
