We are very happy to bring you an interview with Kristen Stewart from from our Portland, Oregon Twilight set visit. We were so thrilled to meet her. Let us assure you that she is a very friendly and warm person. One of our favorite moments from Kristen was when we first approached her and introduced ourselves, she reached out her hand and introduced HERself, too. Such a very normal and somewhat humble thing for a popular film star to do! We thank Kristen for the time she took out of her schedule to talk to us.
Through all the adventures of this very eventful day (from storms, to incoming tides, to an umbrella mishap Kristen so sweetly helped with) we enjoyed our time with the star of this film and appreciate the efforts Kristen took to put a warm smile on her face and make us feel welcome.

Lexicon: Can you tell us what your vision of Bella is?
Kristen: Wow, that’s like a loaded question. I feel like she is a generally relatable character, you know, it’s like in the beginning of the story it’s not her choice to go to Forks, but really she HAS no other choice, it’s like, “Well, i don’t want to be on the road with my mom’s boyfriend”. I think what makes the love story so effective is that she doesn’t have any real connections with people, she’s bored and displaced. She is easily related to by most kids that age, and not just girls, but mainly because it’s…she doesn’t have…People really like her, she’s good hearted. She’s honest, she’s friendly, but she’s not really interested in other people, it’s sort of like she’s not an introvert but nothing dazzl… i can’t believe i actually just said the word dazzles!
Lexicon: How was it filming with Taylor as opposed to Rob?
Kristen: Rob’s a lot taller. They’re so different actually, they’re so, so different.
Lexicon: Which is something Bella has to deal with too.
Kristen: Yeah, I mean oddly enough, Jacob’s well, Taylor’s, warmer. No joke! I’m not just saying that! I’m serious! I’m not a… I don’t cheese it up. And that’s why in the beginning she’s like, “Wow, I’m a logical girl, I don’t understand.” It’s like something that overtakes you. Just because, Edwards wrought with so, so much, and he’s not. And Rob really, really encompasses that. I don’t want to say that he’s neurotic but definitely contemplates…
Lexicon: He’s into character.
Kristen: Yeah. But I think that’s what makes the love story so effective.

That interview actually makes me like her now. In other interviews, she kind of seemed to not really be into the whole “Twilight” thing.
Hahah, the tide is coming in on her feet the whole time. I really like kristen, I think she will be absolutely WONDERFUL in the movie.

i loved this interview. kristen is such a warm person, and she is so much different then other stuck up movie stars. shes down to earth,extremely friendly, and an amazing actress. she really has bella captured well, and shes perfect for her part..and who WOULDN’T be dazzled by rob?! i wish he really did have a out-of-movie-crush on her…!

She’s going to be a wonderful Bella. She’s obviously thought about her a lot and gets the depth of her character. She’s got to work just as hard as Rob to master Bella, ’cause Bella is pretty complicated too. Kristen we love you and you’ll do AMAZING!!!

But I’m kinda confused…..did Kristen mean Taylor is “warmer” as in body temperature or warmer as a person?
ive never realllyy noticed this before but it seems as if taylor, kristen and rob ARE actually jacob, bella and edward. they all have soo much in common with their characters. its probably said many times over but, the casting director did an amazing job, despite what other poeple think.
oh and also, Lexicon, do u have an uncut/edited version for us to see? you kno how we twilighers love everything and anything to do with twilight :]
There is no uncut version. It is what it is, with me stopping the filming once a miniute so we could wade out of the ocean. ~Cocoa

I really do appreciate Kristin for taking on such a complecated role. She fits the part well and I can tell she’s doing her best to cope with the press and all. She doesn’t seem very show-offish, and it’s very refreshing. Very Bella.

Love it! Kristen seems so mature for her age and I’m very pleased to have her play Bella.
I’m 25, but I definitely had an OME moment when I heard the first notes of the background song in the interview. I can’t believe you put “Stolen” by Dashboard Confessional, and the awesome slower version at that! It’s my all-time favorite falling-in-love song and reminds me so much of Bella and Edward’s relationship. In fact, I’ve even proclaimed it in my Lexicon profile signature since I started roaming around the message boards (I always tell people who have never heard or read Twilight to read Ch. 13, listen to “Stolen”, then tell me how they feel… gotta love how music affects so many Twilight readers differently).

Ya Dashboard Confessional is THE PERFECT band for the Twilight books.
We REALLY need an interview with Elizabeth Reaser (Esme), she is the only Cullen, and I think actor from the movie in general, that’s been able to stay out of the lime light. It’d also be cool to get footage of Edi and a more detailed interview with Cam
Oh and more of the Cullen girl’s would be really cool too.

Kristen is absolutely AMAZING! When I met Kristen at Indian Beach that same day, she was just as amazingly humble and gracious towards me as I was to her. She also shook my hand and introduced herself, as if meeting me was somehow an amazing moment for her. She seemed just as happy and just as awed to meet me, as I was to meet her and tell her how wonderful I think she is. I’ve always been a fan of Kristen, I think she’s one of the greatest actresses of our era. Meeting her made me adore her even more! There’s no one else I could ever imagine bringing Bella to life!
