New Myspace blog from stephenie

Thanks to Ohh Takeout for the heads up

1) Breaking Dawn is in the editing phase. It it tentatively set for release Fall 2008. It could be later if we hit a snag in editing. Usually editing takes longer than a few months, but both I and my editors will be putting in lots of overtime to make this happen.

2) Midnight Sun is only half-written. It will not be coming out until a while after it’s finished. Don’t expect it anytime soon. I will let you know when the rough draft is finished, and then you can start asking when it is due out. I don’t foresee much chance to work on it until Breaking Dawn is completely finished.

3) Forever Dawn (the early, poorly written sequel to Twilight) is not the "steamy" version of Breaking Dawn; I don’t know how that rumor got started. Forever Dawn is not adult as in "XXX." It is adult as in "not written exclusively for a young adult audience, much like Pride and Prejudice or Gone With the Wind." There is no steam in Forever Dawn that is not also in Breaking Dawn, so please stop begging me for the "ooh la la" version. It does not exist. I may put some small excerpts of Forever Dawn on my website after Breaking Dawn comes out, but then again, maybe not. It’s not that great. All the best stuff is in Breaking Dawn.

New topic: the Twilight movie

I do not have any casting updates. I haven’t heard anything since the Robert Pattinson announcement. I’m waiting on the same pins and needles you all are. When I get home from vacation, I’ll see if I can get some news.

That is all. Have a nice night everybody!

EDITED TO PUT IN SOME LAST MINUTE ADDITIONS:

4) In regards to the question, "Is Breaking Dawn the last book in the Twilight Saga?" The answer is, "I don’t know." It’s the last one for a while, at least. Of course there will be Midnight Sun, but that’s covering old material. I’m not sure if I will go forward with the Twilight characters–I’m a little burned out right now. Ask me again in two years.

5) "When are you going to put the first chapter of Breaking Dawn on your website?" I have no idea when or if I will get permission to post that. It may be in the special edition of Eclipse that will come out in June or July. It may never appear until BD is on the shelves.

Oh, I thought of another one!

6) "What does the cover of BD look like?" I don’t know (are you sensing a theme here?). We have not decided on a cover yet–in fact, we are in a very early stage of the process. If we get a cover developed in time, it will probably be released with the Eclipse special edition the way the Eclipse cover was put out with the New Moon special edition. I’ve had a few people ask if images they’ve seen are the BD cover, and I can tell you absolutely that they are NOT.

  1. Teresa Cullen says:

    I CAN”T WAIT! *screams*
i think i might just go crazy waiting….. and i would like to know how you can see the audition???? f

  2. reading loverr says:

OMG!! I love your books. so much. im in the middle of reading eclipse! and i love it.

  3. Does anyone know what is the deal with this rumor that Breaking Dawn is all given from Jacob’s POV? :( I don’t think I can handle that. I cannot stand Jacob and having to read it from his POV would just be awful to me. How would we get any intimate EB moments? *cries* Please someone tell me this is all false. :(

  4. Pretty sure it isn’t…almost positive, but there is always the chance that I am wrong…

Stephenie, burnt out with the twilight characters!? WHAT!? Just kidding. We love you Stephenie! Take a break after this one :) I will wait patiently as you recover from the stress of…pleasing all of the teenaged girls that know your name. Haha…

Awaiting PATIENTLY for breaking dawn of course.

  5. Bella_twilight says:

I sure hope BD isn’t the last, even if I have to wait 2 years. I don’t think Steph would do that, though. She can’t leave us without our daily dose of Edward! I can’t wait for BD or Midnight Sun (seeing twilight from Edwards POV is amazing!) As for the question about BD being in Jacobs POV, I don’t think she would do that. I mean, she wouldn’t just suddenly change who was narrating the story… well she did at the end of Eclipse, but I don’t think she would do that for a whole book. You wouldn’t get to see the real important moments between Bella and Edward if she did and I don’t think she would want us to miss a thing. About the movie, they need to finish casting for all the main roles SOON!!!! I really need to know who’s playing who or I might DIE!! I’m also sending in my resume as an extra, so that might be awesome… WOW I typed a lot… hahahaha
I love Edward (pssh, who doesn’t?)

  6. What’s Forever dawn? I’ve never even heard of that.

  7. She doesn’t know if there’s going to be another book? *falls into the fetall position, moaning*

  8. lil_voice1 says:

im happy….stephenie has told us what is going on! its nice to not be kept in the dark…..

  9. Ok, so I just scoured the earth for my answer to the Jacob POV thing and I found my answer right on Stephanie’s website. Haha. Talk about jumping the gun. BD is not from Jacob’s POV. Stephanie said that Bella will get to finish telling her own story and that, I’m assuming, includes BD. Phew. I pray I have put my own mind to rest but I doubt it. Hehe. I can’t wait for Midnight Sun either. Edward’s POV of Twilight – that first chapter – had me spinning. So fabulous!!

    Love,

TEAM EDWARD! (Psh, like there even needs to be teams. Edward IS the sport.) :D

  10. edward lover says:

    OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am so exsited for breaking dawn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    i cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. http://www.yakima-herald.com/page/dis/337227934714671
This is a casting call news article for Jacob Black.

  12. Dancergirl says:

I can’t wait till Breaking Dawn and Midnight Sun comes out.
I was wondering if Stephenie is going to write the series over again from Edwards POV, that would be so amazing if she does. :)

  13. OMG!

I just read about the casting call news for Jacob (THANK YOU Stacy!) and it mentioned “And he needs to be available for sequels”

AW! With all the rumars swirling about only having one movie, different plot, I was worried. Now, though, I’m extremely happy! :D

I CANNOT WAIT!! *But I’ll try with all my self control to be patient. :) *

  14. *Twilight* says:

OMG!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH STACY FOR THE INFO ON THE CASTING CALLS FOR JACOB BLACK. AND THANK YOU STEPHENIE FOR KEEPING US UPDATED. IT MEANS A LOT TO US BIG FANS =)

  15. I also got the impression that Stephenie is a little annoyed with us, and for good reason. I, for one, would rather wait longer to read BD if it means Stephenie could have more time for herself. Basically, right now her whole life is writing, and I can see why she’s getting burned out with it.

  16. twilightislife says:

omg, its great that Stephenie can take the time out of her day to give us tidbits of info and news. I hope she realizes that we all appreciate it. Thanks Stephenie! (ps, i ♥ u!) LOL…

  17. I get your point. I would get quite irritated by thousands of fans pestering me everyday for somthing i had’nt decided on or finished!
Too bad Alice is’nt real she would be really helpful to Stephenie and us right now!

  18. twilightislife says:

i agree with merekat and others with the same thoughts. If i were her, I wouldnt want people assuming that I have written a side edition that is over the top and “steamy”. We all should try to respect her and her pieces of art and her creations (like edward!!!). ciao!

  19. twilightislife says:

lol, yeah celeste, alice would be the ideal one to have around. after edward of course. LOL.

  20. I finally managed to get my friend to read twilight and she likes it so far since i HAVE been pestering her to read her also my other friends say if they read Twilight i have to read northern lights (Which i think is a awful swap since nothing is as good as twilight!)

  21. I cant wait for Breaking Dawn. Midnight Sun will be interesting to read, but i really need Breaking Dawn. Forever Dawn would also be interesting to read, to see where SM orriginally had these characters go, until she realized they just can never go away.
It is also good to get some movie info.
I have heard, i forget from where, they they will be starting filmig in the middle of Feb., which means they MUST know more then they are telling Stephanie and us. they should at least know who Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie, Esme, Carlisle, and Charlie are. becaue they are all very important characters.
GO KRISTEN STEWART AND ROBERT PATTINSON!!!

Anyway i have also got my friends Ryan and Logan to get into it, they are crazy about the books. although ryan skips over the parts were it is a bit too girly. ha ha

  27. Obnoxious moronic DOG says:

Must have pushed them into it quite hard. It took me 4 months to finally get my friends to read them

  28. HOORAY FOR GUYS LIKE JAMES AND SUCH!

Guys should read Twilight to aspire to be like Edward…

  29. ALice Cullen! says:

Hey! So what is up with all the people who DON’T know what forever Dawn is???? And you call yourselves Twilight fans… pshh!

So anyway, I NEED MIDNIGHT SUN! When I read the first chapter I was completly amazed and I can’t wait anymore!!!!!!! MUST KNOW WHAT EDWARD IS THINKING!!! HEEE-HOO-HEE-HOO! Okay i am okay now…….. Edward.

  30. i kindA agree wid u gypsyrover sher does seem a bit stressed but who wouldn’t? i mean the woman is writin a novel, editin one ,taking care of her family and answering our questions.

  35. BellaCullen says:

i am soooooooooo excited!!!! GO STEPHENIE! I LOVE YOU AND YOUR BOOKS!! good job on all your hard work! many thanks for sharing your characters and stories!! I LOVE EDWARD!

Celeste, two years is when we can ask for more of the story, look at this part from the blog:

    4) In regards to the question, “Is Breaking Dawn the last book in the Twilight Saga?” The answer is, “I don’t know.” It’s the last one for a while, at least. 36. Thanks BellaCullen i was just a little confuzzled as it didn’t make sense :P

  37. Poor Stephenie. She sounds soooo stressed and annoyed.

  38. Go James!!! Finally a guy who reads Twilight.

It took me FOREVER to get my guyfriends to read it, and only 1 of them has been interested enough to read on to the sequels. (Who needs that many friends anyway?!?!?!)

But anyway, I hope you can get more guys to read the series than I did… *sigh*…….

    *switches topics*

Poor Stephanie!! She sounds so annoyed…I wonder who bugs her so much…oh yeah, us.

    oops.

  39. Mom of Twins says:

I have read the series 5 or 6 times so far and listened to the books on CD once. I recently purchased the Bella Bracelet. My age would shock you! But I just love this series. I anxiously await Breaking Dawn to find out what happens with Edward and Bella – and you can bet I’ll read that one 6 times too! You are fan-tastic and even though you are burning out, I hope you never lose that dream and keep writing about this great story line.

  40. I am a writer. Writing is hard, long, tedious work some days. And other days it flows easlily. But, being stressed and pushed by a deadline and having expectaions through the roof and beyong makes it even harder. She does amazing considering she is “everything to everyone” at this time in her life. We all love the books, as they are very well written and emotionally beautiful.

  41. i think we all need to give stephenie a break. she is writing as fast as she can and we all know she will update us as soon as she can. also i have a question…

i downloaded stephenie’s playlist for all the books. i was wondering what song goes to which part. when i read one of the books and played the playlist i got confused. can you please tell me which songs goes to which chapter. if know the answer email me at polkadotsbaby@hotmail.com

  42. I LOVE the whole series and of course got hooked on it just like everyone else. I think that everyone needs to calm down and be patient. Some people need to be a lil more mature about this and not spread rumors. Stephanie seems to be a patient person and we should be happy that she gave us some info. The “craze” of all of this may be overwhelming for her, but it seems that she does a good job coping with it. I mean it can be a lil hectic sometimes, so all the rumors need to stop and lets face it we got a couple more months to go to wait for Breaking Dawn and on top of that wait for the movie. I know everyone is estatic, I can’t blame them! But seriously, we should all make this wait as painless as possible. :)

  43. omg i think i am going to have a heart attack waiting! i just want to SCREAM!!!!!!! poor stephenie i bet she has like NO time for anything else!

  44. swimmingswan says:

stephenie rocks. literally every girl at my school is reading or has read the books. even some guys are saying “i know its a chick book, but…. everyone says its really good!” (i think we all wish more boys would read them) so no rush so she can make the next books as good as possible!!

  45. EdwardCullenIsMine says:

I totally admired all of stephanie’s books~ ooh she might even be my headline for school! GOSH, I absolutely cant wait for breaking dawn to get published— hoohoo T . T
Stephanie! Im soooo happy you are giving your time for the readers here! hihihi~ I really loved your book, thanks so much for not giving up on it and fullfilling your dream! :-)

  46. Edwardrox says:

I can not wait to see the movie. My friend and I r going to see it together. We made a pact to see it together. I also cant wait to read the next 2 books. Especially Midnight Sun.

  47. i know i bet the movie is going to be good!!!!! and midnight sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  48. Maddie Cullen says:

OMG I’m impatiently waiting for these books and the Movie to come out! EEK I just CAN’T wait :) I love you Stephanie without you my life would have no meaning… because my meaning in life is to be addicted to your books! p.s. GO ROBERT!

  49. AHHHH!!!!

    :D :D :D

  50. *Okay, breathe.* It’s just Twilight excites me, what can I say?

I can really say, though, is that people should let poor ole Stephenie write, and have the writing process be enjoyable. We all want the book to be the best of its ability, and to fill its potential, I think the author, editors and workers should take their time, even if we’re all sitting here incredibly inpatient. (Including myself.)

It’ll take some time, sure, but then we’ll all get a magnificent book, no doubt!

    WE LOVE YOU STEPH!
