It seems that TMZ managed to tackle Robert Pattinson out on the town with his girlfriend the other night. If you listen to the video, you can just about make out that when asked what his next project is, he responds "Twilight".

it just makes me more excited for the movie. and ya I’m going with the the theory that he was on the “I’m on a date and don’t want to get into anything like this at the moment and did you not read the end of the book man? I’m dead! …But, I’m going to be polite and not mention it and just answer your question.” line of thought. -At least that is what he should have been thinking. 
I squeed “HE SAID OREGON!!! LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!!!”

Well i agree that he doesnt sound very enthusiastic, but it would be kind of awkward to go “TWILIGHT! BEST MOVIE EVER!” I mean, if i were an actor, i wouldnt even say that. Anyway, I love Rob! I think im just defending him..Hmmm
why did he seem ashamed to say “this movie twilight” it is more exciting than harry potter. you would have thought, that after being cast as the bestlooking guy in a book that is so popular and everyone who has read it is excited for the movie, he would have been so flippin excited. maybe we do have the wrong guy afterall.
Think about it: if someone asked Rob “So…what IS Twilight?”…what would he say?
“Oh. Right. Twilight is a teenage vampire romance movie in which I play a smolderingly hot vamp heart-throb…”
It sounds a bit trite, don’t you think? Unless you know what Twilight is about, it (in Stephenie’s words) ends up sounding like a bad Buffy re-run. She herself doesn’t like telling people what her books are about. So it’s natural that he would have a degree of hesitance when telling people about the movie, don’t you think?
Ew, Twilight is an okay book, but calling it the best movie ever is quite an overstatement. I mean, book fans are going to watch it no matter what, but how are they going to attract non-readers? For example, my dad said, “Oh great, another teenage love story. ORIGINAL.” I have disagreed with this movie idea since the beginning (mostly cause the majority of the Twilight plot is character development) but since the movie is already in the works, I might as well go with it. Besides, I’m pretty sure he was drunk (his girlfriend was doing the driving…). So…yeah
They better make additional announcements soon.

“Movie called Twilight.” Why are you all getting so worked up about that one little sentence. He was obviously a little drunk and not to mention a little bemused after that reporter asked if he was to be in the next Harry Potter film. (I mean, is Cedric even mentioned – in passing, even – in Half-Blood Prince?)
I just have to say this, I am not being rude I promise, Imagine my tone as pleading if you will. Can we not over think this video. I think maybe he was caught of guard. So let’s not turn that into embarrassment about the movie, think about it, he would not take the role if he thought it beneath him, he HAS read the books. Lets just chalk his under enthusiasms(if that is what it was) to being 1.Recognized 2. The man asked him about another HP film CD is dead. 3. Maybe he is modest and does not like to give plugs….I don’t know, I just hope we can focus on the fact that he is Edward and The movie will be made and be lovely. i agree with amanda, and plus he seemed a little drunk to me.
He seems ok to me. That reporter wasn’t a very professional one. if he had said anything more than “Hey” to me he would’ve find himself admiring the ground a little bit closer. and Robert Pattinson did handle that one good. But I still don’t know what to think about him. So I will just wait for the movie and see for myself.
I think Robert don´t like this movie, I am sure that he don´t read the book hahahaha but when he read he will be very interested in the movie…hahaha

I saw this yesterday. He is so cute, isn’t he? I just love to see interviews with him, like on the HPGoF DVD, he gets so tickled about the littlest thing. He really seems down to earth, I’m glad he’s Edward.

Well i have to agree with everyone who said he wasn’t exicted, but i didn’t think he was going to jump up and down, and go ‘twilight is the best, and i’m playing Edward the hotest guy ever!’ That would seem really weird if you ask me.
I just wonder why it’s taking them so long to cast the Twilight characters, the movie is going to start filming soon.

I have to say i was impressed by how he handled himself with the paps and how laid back he was and polite – i was impressed by that. his accent sounded very american but i suppose accents morph and change when you’re around people with different accents (or maybe he’s practicing it hehe). anyhow concerning the enthusiasm comments – he was out having dinner/clubbing etc. and was hardly prepared for being question while he was out.
OMG i am soooo excited for robert to be edward!!! he is cute!! he IS going to be big when the movie comes out!

I think he didn’t sound excited because he wanted to get out of there. I mean, he was patient and polite, but I am sure he’s tired of the press especially when he’s out on a date.
Also, do you think that the reporter would have let him leave if he said, “I’m doing this amazing movie called Twilight!” No. They would have made an entire interview about Twilight, and when you want to leave, you don’t want to go there.

I was very happy with Summits choice as Robert Pattinson as Edward. I wonder how there going to feel about his accent?
i think its a good thing he didnt freak out and be all happy go lucky because thats just not an edward thing to do. i think hes perfect. oh and if anyone is trying to fill up time until the next book comes out read the “great and terrible beauty” series by libba bray. they’re long books and they are really good (have nothing on twilght of course) but these are fantastic also
To me he didn’t sound annoyed, just more like he would think the guy wouldn’t know what he was talking about. The people I’ve told about Twilight, I said it the exact same way. It’s the kind of story that you just can’t explain on the fly (unless you know the person likes vampire love stories and won’t think it sounds stupid) so maybe he didn’t want the guy to ask more about it.

Jasper Hale ROX!: I think that Robert Pattinson is British. According to Stephenie, his American accent is really good and I believe that as well.
I know that everything pertaining to the Twilight world is important to us, but many people are freaking out over one thing he said. People, just get over with it. Besides, as others had said he seemed to be drunk and he was out with his girlfriend. I don’t think he wanted to be bothered.
