Lexicon Spoiler Policy on The Host

In light of the fact that The Host has been released internationally, we’ve had some discussion as to how we should proceed.  I know that many of you are just chomping at the bit to discuss the book.  I am, too!  Out of fairness to the many fans here in the states that still have a few weeks to wait for the book, we will not be opening our Host forum for spoiler discussion.  Please, we ask that if you have had the chance to read an ARC or the real book internationally that you keep your posts spoiler free until May 6th when the book comes out here in the states.  At that point we will open the forums for full discussion.  It will be up to the individual members to decide if they want to visit the forum and be spoiled or wait until they finish the book.  But as for right now, we are going to maintain our no spoiler policy here at the Lexicon.

Stephenie Updates Her MySpace

Reposted with permission from Stephenie’s MySpace blog today.  She said:

"MTV is my new best friend because this is probably the best 3 1/2 minutes I’ve ever spent:
Twilight characters video  Even having my own lame face on there did not ruin it for me. I honestly do not know if I will actually live through seeing this movie. (Good thing Breaking Dawn is pretty much done, eh?)

On an unrelated note, this new site made me laugh buckets:
Twilight Guy  A note to Caleb, if he ever sees this: You are right; I totally should have given Bella a fire truck."

Nice to know that guys really do read Twilight!

The Host in multiple forms

We’ve had a bunch of questions lately regarding The Host and availability.  He are happy to pass on the good news that the Hachette Book Group, the adult publishing division of Stephenie’s usual publisher Little Brown, is doing both the audio and the eBook.  So all you people who like to listen to a book in your car, or who are dying to break in your new Kindle, you are in luck!

Also, some of you have been reporting The Host sightings in your books stores.  It seems that the international version, meaning English language editions put out by the UK publishing division, went on sale on April 2, 2008. This means you can get it in countries served by the UK publishers which is as follows:

UK
Ireland
Indonesia
Philippines
Australia
Hong Kong
and any territories of the above.

So for our international members you guys hit the jackpot. Ask down at your local bookshop.   For those of you who have read the book and are ready to discuss it visit our Host Forum!

Meet the Cast

Summit Entertainment has released a promo video!  You can see it on MTV .  This is a Summit Production, not an MTV production.  Its a real promo.  The cast talks about filming the stunts and it shows some really cool stunts taking place. It includes footage from Biology, Bella’s Bedroom and more.  So be warned for spoilers and enjoy!!!

*EDIT– Our many international friends can see the video here.

**EDIT : MTV BLOG fills in the gaps with more info.  If you comment mention you got the link from the Lexicon!

I can see you are all anxious to discuss this wonderful video Summit has put together for the fans!  Discuss everything you saw and your thoughts on our Message Board.

Mike Welch Updates Blog

Mike Welch updates his blog and responds to the Twi-Hard controversy.

From our site’s POV people can call themselves whatever they want. We tend to says "fans", "Twilighters", or "Lexiconers" depending on the situation because that’s what we’ve been doing since we started in March 2006. Usually though, we tend not even to use the word because it’s obvious we are talking about us (meaning people who love Twilight).

We directed people over to the MTV vote stating, "Go and vote before you get called something you hate." because if you are going to have a moniker stuck on you by a news source that asks "What should the fans be called?", you should at least be aware that 1) they were asking and 2) you should have a voice in what that is.

Vampire double

Twilighters.org posted an interview this morning with one Robert Pattinson’s doubles.

And Don’t forget to keep voting for Stephenie in the Time Most Influential People Poll.  Despite the current totals we want to express our extreme pride in the Twilight fans voting patterns on this poll.  While it is obvious that others have been voting down their "competitors" in an attempt to better their position, you have maintained the class and dignity of this site by not sinking to such tactics.  You played fair, and that in and of itself means more to us then any position on a poll.  You showed class Twilight Fans.  You Rock!

The Forkies!

We told you about the fansite awards that Kellmett Happens was organizing called The Forkies about 2 weeks ago.  You went to their Live Journal site, you nominated your favorite Twilight sites in the categories listed, and now its time to vote!

*Note you must be a registered Live Journal user to vote.

The polls will close this FRIDAY at 9pm!  So go…vote for your favorites!

Redlotusflower from deviant art has started a fun campaign for Twilight lovers world wide.  We thought it was cute and quirky and right up our alley!  Who knows maybe you will find you aren’t the only Twilight fan in your school!  So check it out

There is a page link for the official movie site floating around.  It is legitimate.  It is an unlinked, unfinished page.  The people who found it searched the parent directory of the website which would show them all the pages, linked or not.  As I said, its not a finished page, but I think you will find the page and background images to be lovely.

Thanks to Aileen for the heads up on this one.

*Edit: This question is being asked, so I will answer it here, it is not unusual for a website like this to own several domain names.  This helps to ward of other sites from buying up similiar popular domain names to feed off the popularity of a website.  Or worse, pose as the official one.  Also, the splash page is written in flash, this is a very complex programing language and it is completely likely they are using the alternate domain for the interior of the website.  This is the legitimate unfinished official movie site.
