Summit Entertainment would like to hear what Movie Merchandise you want! What do you want to see on the store shelves? Calendars, posters, playing cards as seen in the YouTube videos, chime in with your ideas. Let them know on this thread.
Summit launches Official Youtube Twilight Channel
The Twilight Lexicon is happy to announce to our domestic and international readers that you can now subscribe to the official Twilight Movie Channel on Youtube! All Summit videos will be available on this channel, so subscribe today! Currently available are the Comic Con behind the scenes piece as well as the first Production Diary entry.
There are no restrictions on embedding the official Twilight content. All sites are welcome to embed the content from that YouTube channel!
*Another word on the teaser trailer. Again we wish to stress that there are no, I repeat no officially locked down premiers for this trailer. Summit distribution is currently working to have the trailer shown on as many movies as possible. But again, nothing is final. Do not go buy tickets to Speed Racer just to see the Twilight trailer unless you really want to see Speed Racer, because the trailer may or may not be shown depending on what happens in the next 9 days. Speed Racer is a Warner Brothers film (Warner Brothers as in Harry Potter). Once the trailer is available it will be shown on the official Twilight Movie YouTube channel as well as on their website. Again, please be patient. As soon as more information is available we will announce it here. So stay tuned!
The Host Hotter Than Ever
The Host is getting some major mainstream media coverage, both domestic and international, over a week before it releases. This is bigtime hype (of course we thinks it’s deserved hype) for a YA author crossing over into the adult sci-fi market on her 4th book.
As of now The Host is:
Number 18 on Barnes and Noble’s best seller list
Number 35 on Borders/Amazon best seller list
Number 27 on Chapters/Indigo best seller list
On USA Today’s list all three Twilight novels are in the top twenty and The Host is likely to join that list when it debuts, making Stephenie the only author to have 4…count them…4…novels in the top 20.
There is also an excellent review by Cosmogirl here.
Of course on the Lexicon we’re betting on it debuting on the NY Times list. If you haven’t ordered your copy yet, you can get one here.
Your news at noon…
His Golden Eyes in colaboration with Twilight Portugal brings us another Edi Gathegi Interview. See our Actor interviews page for the link.
The site Film School Rejects has posted a recap of recient Twilight news to help get their subscribers get up to date and asks the age old question "What do you call the Series?". I think we can all say after much debate the fans seemed to settle on the Twilight Saga. Author Michelle Graham will be reading the series this week, we all remember what happens when you read the books for the first time. So pop on over share with her your "first time" reading the series, and offer her survival tips for the week. For example:
1. You must not read the first chapter of New Moon located in the back of Twilight without having New Moon near by.
2. Store munchies, driving to the store while reading is dangerous…ask Cocoa.
…and so on
Trailers, exclusives, and rumors…oh my!
The Twilight Lexicon is excited to announce that that the DVD Penelope to be released July 15th containing the sneak peek of the film Twilight…will be EXCLUSIVE never before seen footage from the movie, not previously seen items as was earlier speculated!
In other news there have been many reports about the teaser trailer and cast publicity appearances circulating on the Internet. As of this moment there is no official release date for the teaser trailer. Summit is currently working on the details for its release. Rest assured we will announce the official airings of the trailer when dates become official. But again, nothing regarding the trailer has been finalized as of yet.
With regards to rumors that the entire cast has been booked on the Ellen Show…these rumors would be false. It is way to early to be arranging that type of publicity for the movie. You should not begin seeing the actors from the film on your favorite talk shows till late fall. However, its not to early for you to let shows like this know you are interested, so that when they begin to book their programing for the fall they will know what their viewers want to see. If you would like to contact one of these shows use the following links:

Here is another link to a review of The Host from Love It, Like It, Hate It.
Can you tell what the reviewer thinks of The Host??
"Stephenie Meyer, best-selling author of the young adult series Twilight, has struck gold again! Meyer’s first adult novel, The Host, is sure to turn vampire-loving teens (and adults) into instant sci-fi fanatics. "
Warning there are spoilers in the review
**EDIT- The Article in Costco can be found on page 57.
