Stephenie and Taylor Updates Their MySpaces

Stephenie updated her MySpace today.  She references a site where there is what is a called a "flame war" going on between supporters and non-supporters of Twilight.

"...in regards to the flame war over at slashfilm.com:

I thought the article was fascinating (I fear math; consequently statistics impress me enormously). It was so cool to hear that Taylor Lautner was ranking higher in imdb interest than ANY OTHER ACTOR IN THE WORLD. Amazing. And also how popular all the other Twilight actors have been in recent search history.

There’s really no need to get upset just because the author is new to Twilight. Everyone was a newbie once, right? And if other posters want to trash the book, that’s their right. Thanks for the passionate defense, but I’m not under any illusions that I’m the reincarnation of Jane Austen. I have fun writing my books, plenty of people have fun reading my books, and that’s more than enough for me. Let’s make love, not war 🙂

The point is statistics, my friends! Numbers! (Don’t stare at them too long, though, or math-related thoughts might invade your head.)"*

As a side note from the Lexicon’s point of view, let’s keep it classy. You can support something, or disagree with something without trashing others.

Taylor Lautner’s MySpace was also updated. You can view it here.

The Hand Campaign Launches Website

The hand campaign that we first mentioned last week, seems to be taking off like a rocket, or maybe we should say a tracking vampire.

The site now has it’s own website.

International Release Dates For The Twilight Movie

FOR INTERNATIONAL RELEASE ONLY:

Our mailbag and blog posts have been filled of requests by overseas Lexiconers wanting to know about the release date abroad for the Twilight movie. We’ve seen the rumors too that have run from it won’t go to Europe at all, to it’s going straight to DVD, etc. We thought, time to end the rumors. Let’s get  information straight from the source. So we talked to Summit and this is what we have been able to find out.

  1. This WAY TOO EARLY to tie any date down specifically.
  2. It’s currently slated for a early 2009 release.
  3. They know that the fans want to movie sooner rather than later.

We specifically asked, "Does that mean a December 12, 2008 release is out of the question?"  We were told, "Nothing at this point can be ruled out."  So, what it all boils down to is give it  some more time, and concrete answers will be available.

The movie is still slated to release domestically on December 12, 2008.

Stephenie Updates Her MySpace

Reposted with permission from Stephenie’s MySpace blog today.  She said:

"MTV is my new best friend because this is probably the best 3 1/2 minutes I’ve ever spent:
Twilight characters video  Even having my own lame face on there did not ruin it for me. I honestly do not know if I will actually live through seeing this movie. (Good thing Breaking Dawn is pretty much done, eh?)

On an unrelated note, this new site made me laugh buckets:
Twilight Guy  A note to Caleb, if he ever sees this: You are right; I totally should have given Bella a fire truck."

Nice to know that guys really do read Twilight!

The Host in multiple forms

We’ve had a bunch of questions lately regarding The Host and availability.  He are happy to pass on the good news that the Hachette Book Group, the adult publishing division of Stephenie’s usual publisher Little Brown, is doing both the audio and the eBook.  So all you people who like to listen to a book in your car, or who are dying to break in your new Kindle, you are in luck!

Also, some of you have been reporting The Host sightings in your books stores.  It seems that the international version, meaning English language editions put out by the UK publishing division, went on sale on April 2, 2008. This means you can get it in countries served by the UK publishers which is as follows:

UK
Ireland
Indonesia
Philippines
Australia
Hong Kong
and any territories of the above.

So for our international members you guys hit the jackpot. Ask down at your local bookshop.   For those of you who have read the book and are ready to discuss it visit our Host Forum!

Mike Welch Updates Blog

Mike Welch updates his blog and responds to the Twi-Hard controversy.

From our site’s POV people can call themselves whatever they want. We tend to says "fans", "Twilighters", or "Lexiconers" depending on the situation because that’s what we’ve been doing since we started in March 2006. Usually though, we tend not even to use the word because it’s obvious we are talking about us (meaning people who love Twilight).

We directed people over to the MTV vote stating, "Go and vote before you get called something you hate." because if you are going to have a moniker stuck on you by a news source that asks "What should the fans be called?", you should at least be aware that 1) they were asking and 2) you should have a voice in what that is.
