Breaking Dawn Poster Image Released

So what do you guys think?

  1. Brandie B says

    I love it!!!

  2. MeyaRose says

    Um… I don’t like it… its so boring it could be fan-made…

    • I agree it’s too simple … this is the last book of the series and Part 1 of 2, let’s make it more dramatic ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Agree. Is this really the best they can do? Disappointing.

    • i agree this is not good . i dont like the picture it looks to boring and easy that anyone can do…. seriouly wheres the art of the book or the plot of the story .. how is this wanting us to GO SEE the movie with this poster picture .. not good they sould change it to something much better that speaks to people to go see it not sleep it off … ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I totall agree with the rest of these replies. It’s too simple. Too plain. I know that the fans have better art than that. Shows no imagination and I know Summit has the money to do better.

  3. I agree, boring. We don’t get to see ANYTHING??

  4. Wow, I’m disappointed….waaaaay too simple and boring

  5. Well guys…gals… what have you… It is only a “teaser” poster, so you shouldn’t expect much. Several years back Sony released a picture of a shadow of Godzilla with his eyes highlighted with the capture, “Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner?”

This isn’t the official movie poster, and it is just something for Summit to put out there, to let us know that “Part 1” is on the way.

I’m hoping to see something more substancial after the MTV awards.

    • AlbertaJenn says

Exactly! It’s just to gear fans up (even though we already are).

Many may remember the New Moon teaser:

      And the Eclipse one:

      • MeyaRose says

Those were just the logos of the movies, not the teaser posters, and we got that for Breaking Dawn a couple months ago.

For a teaser poster, they could have given us just a silhouette of the characters, or the Cullen house decorated for the wedding or something, nothing truly revealing, but something a little more than a bunch of pink and orange paint splatted on a canvas.

        • Totally agree!!! I’m so excited for the movie already but still….they could’ve given us something more!!!

        • I understand this is a teaser and they don’t want to give much away but they could’ve done SO much better! C’mon summit. We know you can do better!!!

    • a fan made could be better…I expected more..

    • I agree! This is a teaser after all. It’s ‘building’, The colours are beautiful and it has a real feel of perfection yet anticipation to it. Be patient friends, because before you know it, it’s all over and then where will we be?

  6. Its to plain..

  7. Even for a teaser this is lame. Let’s hope the future posters are better.

  8. It’s ok ! I’m hoping for more. COME ON SUMMIT !!!

  9. At least unlike previous teaser posters there is actually something besides a title on it. I like the simplicity of it. It’s classy…but I was hoping for a darker look….this should be the poster for part 2, not 1.

  10. Yes I’m complaining and it’s true it’s a teaser. I just saw the Amazing Spider man and the first teaser for Captain America and they were very plain too so I’m sure well get a better poster !

  11. AliceKikiCullen says

Most stupidist Teaser EVER!!! Looks a photo shop done by a fan!!! LAME!!!! I’m sorry it really is!!!

  12. smitten_by_twilight says

Pretty … Teaser … I think something representing pre-dawn gloom would be more appropriate but non-fans wouldn’t get it.

  13. Seems plain compared to the DH part 1 teaser I saw months ago.

  14. Lynne Stringer says

I think ‘tease’ is the optimal word here. They’re trying to tease us by not giving anything away. I’m sure the posters will gradually get more exciting.

  15. Boring. but pretty sunset.

  16. Such a drab. They could have done soooooooooooooo much better. It’s the last movie for gosh sakes. They need to make it better. And that could totally be fan made. Not hard to do something like that.

  17. Okay, I guess that I’m the odd man out this time, and I have no wish to be contrary.

But I love it. I could list off specifically why I think so, but… it’s basically everything. I think it’s wonderful.

And the title treatment is 10 times better than Eclipse’s. If I’d designed this, I would be thrilled with how it turned out.

    Delighted. Wonderful. Very promising!

  18. I like it. It’s pretty. Dawn breaking over Forks. I am sure it is that simple because everything is so tight lipped. There will be other posters as we get closer. The only thing I’m disappointed in is the ‘part 1 and part 2’ I thought they could have made the distinction a little more creative.

  19. Oh my..I thought it was beautiful. I am just happy there is something official out there. People seem to be so picky! Yikes it scares me…

  20. Elizabeth (EverythingRemindsMeOfTwilight) says

I like it. Yes, it’s simple, but like others have said, it’s a teaser poster. I’m glad it’s more than the title. I really like the silhouette of the forest and the shades of pink transitioning into the purple and black of the title. I would have like the “g” in breaking to be the Twilight font, but I know that’s pretty picky. And, like Stephenie Meyer said once, it would have been nice if they’d been able to think of something other than “Part 1” and “Part 2″…though what would have probably been hard. Breaking Dawn: Knocked Up? Yeah, not so classy either. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • “Breaking Dawn: Knocked Up?”

And Part 2 could be “Breaking Dawn: Baby Mama” (referring to Rosalie).

This teaser is making me more psyched for the movie. At least the second graphic novel will help tide me over for the last month before its release. The hard part will be waiting a whole year for BD Part 2.

    • smitten_by_twilight says

      BD1: Knocked Up
      LOL and Tee-Hee! How about
BD2: Out of the Oven and into the Fire?

  21. Mary Masen says

I love the intense, beautiful, romantic and mysterious background. it kinda describes the emotions during the movie….

    it’s time! It’s time, it’s time it’s time!!!
Now that they have started releasing posters they can’t just stop, they must give us more and more things to keep us busy till the movie comes out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
176 DAYS till Breaking Dawn Part 1 hits theaters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

  22. really not sure, it doesn’t do it for me.maybe would mean more if we had more of the clearing.

  23. Like many people have pointed out, it is very simple. However, I think this is a great choice by Summit because it doesn’t give anything away, it sets the film apart from the other three since its very different than Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse, and it allows fans to anticipate the movie even more. Seeing as how it is a teaser poster, no one should expect any of the characters to be on it yet. I think thats a good choice because the other three films, especially New Moon, was crowded with so many set pictures, behind the scenes clips, trailers up the wazoo, and posters, posters, posters!!!! The film was almost entirely spoiled because of all that coverage. I think keeping Breaking Dawn a surprise is a fantastic move by the producers and I’m even more excited now then I was before!

  24. Huh? This is it?

  25. Chloe Cartwrite says

    Weak. Looks like student work.

  26. I guess I am alone when I say I like it and I think that its very simple. I guess I am just overwhelmed by the number of people ripping it apart. I understand that is what we are entitled to but you would think I wasnt posting on a fan board with all the negative comments. I thought more people would be happy about the idea of it being out there…its just ugly to see so many ” A fan could do better” ” lame” or “not good” just really ugly and sad that so many are so quick to rip something apart these days. Unbelievable no wonder the actors are so nervous around fans…we rip them apart in an instant.

    • Cargonza says

Agreed! Some people think they’re so entitled to every scrap of an actor’s life. I enjoy this poster! It’s beautiful in color choices, and it doesn’t involve stiff poses of the trio. Very nice! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Do I ever agree. There seems to be two kinds of fans (and this is not unique to Twilight fandom): those who are displeased and disappointed by almost everything after their initial exposure to the franchise, and those who are thrilled by every new official release. (I’m in the second group.) Even on fan sites there has been a tradition of griping about Breaking Dawn (the novel), the movies (along the lines of “Rosenberg sux” – NOT my opinion; the Dexter scribe has done a masterful job), The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, the Official Illustrated Guide etc. Why the negativity?

So for those who are saying (Simpson’s Comic Book Guy voice) “Worst poster ever”: it’s just a teaser, folks.

      • Lynne Stringer says

Halek, I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been at other sites defending heaps of things from people, sometimes to such an extent that I wonder why they’re fans at all! One girl hated everything after Twilight, and complained about SM “losing her vision”, etc. I couldn’t help but wonder why she was there at that stage, when we were talking about the movie version of Eclipse (it was when it was just out).

While I understand that she loved the first book and was obviously upset that the rest of them hadn’t gone the way she thought they should, I would have thought that would make her lose interest in the series, rather than hang around to do nothing more than complain about it all the time.

  27. I for one love it and want one! I love the simplicity, its so fooling cause this movie is going to be aa roller coaster ride! Love it, love it, love it! I didn’t want to see another, Bella, Edward, Jacob pose…
It says it all to me, the sun is rising over the meadow, and Volturri are on the other side…Whew, I know everyone donesn’t like it but I say Kudos to Summit for something different, and I’m sure there will be more than one…I WANT ONE!

  28. I’m not feelin’ it.

  29. My four year old took that pic once. Really summit this had better not be shades of things yet to come

  30. Charlotte says

I think it really pretty and just perfect for a teaser. People expect so much but it’s almost 6 months until the release if they gave us any more they’d have less to tease us with in the lead up.

  31. OMG

  32. CullenCoven says

I bet this is a stripped version. They’ll add the characters later or somethin.

  33. looks like ET poster, just need the bike across the sky.

  34. Love it. When I think of the significance of the title and how the sun makes the sky look at the very break of dawn, it’s perfect. It’s the part of the story where a new life is breaking for everyone.

  35. I love it! If I were into putting posters on my wall again, this, honestly, would be the only Twilight related one I’d choose. I love that it’s simple. I’m sure Part 2 will be much more dramatic.

  36. Compared to the other teaser posters, this is beautiful ๐Ÿ˜€ I love the colors! I can’t wait for the one-sheet….and the trailer.

  37. It looks a little more like Breaking Sunset than Dawn, but I don’t and never will understand the fans that always want more or every detail like the book. THEY CAN’T SHOW US RENESMEE ON THE POSTER. you have to been a moron to the 30th degree to think they would reveal her early. COME ON. It’s a poster. There will be more and the poster is kinda a play on words. I think it’s supposed to be Dawn “breaking” over forkes. Just relax…your precious movie will be out soon….goooooossshhhh!

  38. oh and if they’re gonna release on a Wednesday, why not 11/11/11? ya know?

  39. I love it. I am a OG Twilight fan and picked up my first copy of Twilight when it hit the shelves back in ’05. The poster reminds me of pictures that I have taken & it’s just one of the many things that were a part of my life before Twilight that is relateable and makes me feel like this series is custom made for all of the fans like me (like bella’s tourquoise cuff, the band mute math on the soundtrack, Bella’s bedroom wall color, and many other things in the movie).

  42. I think is good ,I love it .I want see ever thing in cinema:) I wait so long so I can wait more:)

  43. Yawn…

  44. I hear Gone with the Wind music playing in my head when I look at the poster I think of Scarlet standing outside of Tara, it’s very similar.

  45. i actually… love it! the sunset is so beautiful and it looks so magical! and now i’m waiting the next poster even more! ๐Ÿ˜€ i can’t stop thinking what’s under that sky :3 love the colors too!
