Taylor Lautner Pops By InStyle

Taylor popped by the InStyle offices for an interview. He’s Japan bound, along with Robert Pattinson for the Japanese premiere of Twilight. They are crazy for Twilight in Japan.  One of the very first languages Twilight was translated into was Japanese. So, the fans there have been gearing up for awhile. We are seriously betting that the screaming is going to rival the LA red carpet.

Speaking of screaming fans, Taylor mentioned to InStyle:

“The 17 year-old has been hit with such a fan base that he no longer can go to malls, but he can occasionally find a solitary moment for a meal at one of the local restaurants in his neighborhood. He also told us that he learned the hard way NOT to go see his movie opening weekend–he went to Universal City Walk to catch Twilight with the movie-goers and ending up having to be escorted out by the secret service because of the fandemonium.”

NOTE TO TAYLOR: If you get the munchies, do not assume you can just walk out of your hotel in Japan and go for sushi…BAD IDEA.

Happy Birthday Ashley

Here’s to hoping that Ashley had a blast last night celebrating her birthday in Vegas. She looks like it’s going to be a pull-out-all-the-stops Vegas party based on her early planning visit. If you’re going to the Salute to Twilight Convention this weekend, remember to wish Ashley a very happy birthday.

Ningin Interviews Justin Chon Part 2

The final part of the Ningan interview with Justin Chon has been posted. Justin gives some advice for others breaking into the business and reveals the people in Hollywood that he’d most like to work with.

Make sure you check out Justin in Crossing Over when it finally reaches theaters in limited release February 27th. It is rated R. You can clearly see Justin several times in the trailer.

Chris Weitz Will Not Direct Eclipse

Hot Off the presses from Entertainment Weekly:

Chris Weitz will not direct the third film in the Twilight series, Eclipse, a source close to the production tells EW.com exclusively. Because New Moon, which Weitz is helming, and Eclipse are due to be released so close together, Weitz will be in post-production on New Moon at the same time that Eclipse will be shooting. That said, the source confirms a report that the movies will not be shot simultaneously or back-to-back; there will be a brief gap between the production of both films.

So, anyone want to start guessing who will get the job for Eclipse? This is very typical for chain movies to have more than one director.  Anyone have any names they want to throw out there? How about Mimi Leder?

Eclipse to Premiere June 30, 2010

Nikki Finke form Deadline Hollywood has been told by Summit that Eclipse will come out on June 30, 2010.

Here’s the official Summit description:

“As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.”

As usual, Nikki has a lot of inside details. Click here to check them all out.

Anna Lynne Goes Fishing

If last night’s red carpet is any indication, Anna Lyne McCord absolutely knows how to reel people in. She certainly hooked all the photographers there.  She had them eating out of her hand while posing very retro Marilyn Monroe. It’s all going to be good experience if she gets the role of Heidi.

Now here’s where this role gets interesting. Yesterday OK Magazine reported that Anna Lynne had in fact gotten the role, and now a mere 24 hours later they are saying she turned it down due to scheduling conflict. (We’re still waiting for anyone else to confirm the OK magazine story from either day.)

So here’s our thought. Kellan Lutz her 90210 co-star and friend is going to be at the Salute to Twilight Convention this weekend. Ask him. At this point, we’re thinking Kellan is probably more reliable than the print media whose story changes are giving us whiplash.

Twilight Stars Celebrate in Vegas

Both Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene celebrated their birthday’s, or in Ashley’s case an early birthday, in Vegas.  Ashley’s actual birthday is Saturday, but she’s starting her bash tonight.

Now if you happen to actually be in Vegas, and be over 21, you can celebrate Ashley’s birthday with her at Prive.

If you’re attending the Salute to Twilight Convention this weekend in San Fransisco, make sure you wish Ashley a happy birthday on Sunday! That’s dedication, spending your birthday weekend with Twilight fans!

Kaleb Nation, the Twilight Guy, Is Back in Action

Kaleb took a hiatus recently to deal with his school course load. Wild surprise we know, but Twilight is not Kaleb’s life 24/7.

Kaleb has now found the time to continue his read through Eclipse and has made his way to Chapter 23, Monster. As usual Kaleb provides his own, unique guy’s point-of-view on the chapter.  He does end on a serious note (where we did a collective awwww. It’s one of our mod’s favorite chapters too)

“I will say that, in spite of my points earlier, and my aversion to Jacob’s manipulation, that this could perhaps be my favorite chapter so far in this entire book. It’s a turning point, of sorts. I’m coming to realize just how deep Jacob runs in Bella’s heart: this piece that perhaps she could remove; but by removing it, might only open the wound again.”

Now aside from blogging about Twilight, Kaleb is a budding author too. In fact he managed to keep going despite technical difficulties in his office **coughDORMROOMcough**. Anyway, here’s a video about Kaleb’s upcoming novel the Farfield Curse.

Justin Chon Interviewed by Ningan

Justin Chon, Eric Yorkie, was interviewed by Ningin, a site specializing in Asian media, about his role as Eric Yorkie, and upcoming projects.  Justin is his usual outgoing self. In the article he mentions his father, a former actor in Korea, as being one of the biggest influences in his life.

“When I was young—growing up—I used to watch his black and white movies, and it definitely influenced me a lot because I was just like, “That’s possible?” Even back then, that was like in the 60’s, so that drove me to kind of follow my dreams. But there’s a little bit of a difference. He did it out of necessity; he needed to make money. I always had an interest in acting, but he allowed me to be like, “Okay, well, you can do it.”

Ningin anticipates launching part two of the interview shorltly.
