Save the Book Babe Auction
Project Save the Book Babe has updated with a detailing of what is being auctioned and where. We can promise you that if you are at the event, the auction showdown over Stephenie’s eprom dress is going to be memorable. There are at least three die-hard Twilight fans who would just about do anything to get that dress, especially since all auction proceeds are going to a great cause.
“Stephenie Meyer is generously donating some exciting items to auction LIVE AT THE EVENT ON APRIL 4th, including her dress from the Eclipse Prom:
Forever Dawn Epilogue
The Host Manuscript
Eclipse Manuscript
Twilight Arc
The Dress
Lunch with Stephenie “
ONLINE AUCTION:
Since there are so many items that authors, publishers and other donors have been donating for this cause, they will be auctioned online right here, very soon! Here are some of the items that will be available to bid on including (in no particular order):
AUTOGRAPHED BOOKS:
Twilight Saga Box Sets
Japanese Editions of Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse: Illustrated and signed. The set includes 9 books (three volumes for each title).
One set of Audio Books: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and The Host
there are also various online items from other authors.
OK, Pel is now taking over the blog and channeling her inner Margaret Hamilton. She’s launching herself into cyberspace and cackling “Surrender Kara”. Even if Kara thinks she can raise enough money to get that dress the answer is no. NO, NO NO! That dress is so mine, live auction, in Tempe…3 words…BRING IT ON!

Pel will be the one in her Twilight Teez (click here to get your own Tee and support the cause) Save the Book Babe tee outbidding Kara and her minions. Clearly Kara underestimates the powers of Laura, Dano and their….er…well, we don’t have minions, but we have friends with cash! One of us is getting that dress.
Happy Birthday Giveaway Number 3
Now that the craze of the DVD release has passed, it’s time to give away our third and final prize in celebration of the Lexicon’s third birthday. If you missed the first two posts, we are holding three contests this month where three Lexiconers will win autographed Twilight related merchandise. All you have to do is answer the questions by replying to the post here on the blog. We will pick a winner by random from the people who answered correctly. You must be a registered user on the blog with a valid e-mail address so that we can contact you about your prize.
As before, all questions will be related to the Lexicon history in some way. This isn’t “Twilight” trivia! We really tried to think of difficult questions so that the winners will have to have paid attention to the site over the years! Only someone with the right answer can win the prize. There were many more correct answers to our last question, so hopefully this one final question will stump more or you!
So make sure you have a registered account here on the blog before you post. Then answer the question the best you can. You have until 12:01am Eastern Daylight Time March 28th to enter. Only one answer per person, please! We will announce our winner on Monday.
This week’s prize is a Twilight DVD (American Borders Edition) autographed by Edi Gathegi.
The final question is:
What date did the forums official open at the Lexicon? What was the highest rank at the time because we never thought anyone would ever post more than that?
Congratulations to Andrea S. who won our last prize – a Carlisle Cullen bag autographed by Peter Facinelli! She knew that Alphie and Pel first met Stephenie Meyer in Washington D.C. at the Book Expo. It was May of 2006 to be exact, and yes, we did get quite a few parking tickets that day!
Robert Pattinson: Why We Love Him
Rob talked to Reuters and proves once again, goofy though he may be, why we love him. In the end he “gets it”.
“The book of ‘New Moon,’ the majority of it is incredibly depressing,” Pattinson told Reuters. “Obviously ‘Twilight’ was about finding first love and the difficulties of that, but ‘New Moon’ is really about loss and reconciliation, but the reconciliation isn’t completely full.”
See the full Reuter’s piece here.
According to Extra, Rob doesn’t have to worry about his personal security. As we reported yesterday, off-duty Canadian Mounties are part of Rob’s security detail. No word if they are going to accompany him on horseback anytime soon.
Your Blog Is Fabulous!
We’ve been tagged in the “Your Blog is Fabulous” meme going around by the crew over at Team Solomon. A lot of their favorite blogs and some of the people who tagged them are our favorites too. We don’t usually do memes, but we’ll make an exception here.
Once you win this award, you are to list 5 of your addictions then pass it on to 5 of your favourite blogging friends.
So, here are my top 5 addictions:
1. Stephenie Meyer – wild surprise we know.
2. Filming News – yet another huge surprise.
3. The Twilight Saga -note title of our blog
4. The Host – Are we sensing a pattern yet?
5. Forks, Washington – A great little town.
And, my top 5 favourite blogs:
- Novel Novice: Started by a teacher who got “hard to teach” kids to read using Twilight. They’ve done everything from Twilight themed voter registration drives to starting the current Team Switzerland project.
- The Twilight Guy: Kaleb Nation’s off-beat Twi-Guy perspective is not to be missed. He’s about to start his Breaking Dawn read, and he has his own debut novel coming out this September!
- Deadline Hollywood: Not limited to Twilight, but a great source for the underbelly of Hollywood that has the story right ( even though its not pretty) most of the time.
- Lauren’s Bite-Two Words: Pocket Edward (She’s already been nominated by other bloggers but it’s a fabulous site and always makes us laugh like crazy.)
- Confessions of a TwiCrack Addict– Her blog has been around since way before they started to film in her hometown of Vancouver. She always gives a humorous view of the news with just the right amount of snark. Like Lauren’s bite she’s been nominated, but check her out.
The Superheroes Have Had Enough!
It seems that Batman, Wonderwoman, Superman, etc. have had it with vampires and werewolves. They are mad as hell and reclaiming their turf.

Here’s the scoop from Shock Till You Drop:
“The 6-issue miniseries that pits the World’s Finest Heroes against bloodsuckers and lycanthropes… Look for it in comic shops on July 29th for $14.99.”
