Noot Seear: A Nutty Name

With apologies to the Mars Candy Company it looks like Noot Seear, who plays Heidi, would agree that “Sometimes you feel like a nut, and sometimes you don’t.”

According to MTV:

“Now that Noot will surely have a Twilighter following, it may be too late for her to ditch her nickname (which means “nut” in Danish) and go by her given name Renata. “I have been trying to be Renata forever,” Noot said. “I still try to be Renata. Every time I would change schools, I would always start as Renata and somehow switch to Noot. And when I moved to New York, there was a really big model named Renata and she was at my agency. Now I can’t get rid of it. It’s the most ridiculous name.”

  1. Noot means ‘nut’ in Dutch too. Thought it was quite funny in the beginning, but I’m now used to it.

  2. I’m Danish and “Noot” does not quite mean “nut” in our language. It’s close, though.

Thank you for a fantastic website, I visit it everyday πŸ™‚

  3. FilDeCuivre says:

It’s weird how no one haven’t said this already – well, the two posters who’ve posted before me πŸ˜€ – that Renata was Aro’s personal guard! And now there’s a Volturi with the same name πŸ™‚

  4. I’m swedish and noot is quite close to nut. But not close enough, it’s “nΓΆt” if you’re wondering. πŸ™‚

  5. Isabella Cullen says:

the name Renata always makes me think of a sheild – Aro’s personal bodyguard. its really awesome to know that there really is a renata on the volturi πŸ˜€ !!

  6. Ah.. Well I think we should call her Renata then πŸ™‚
Especially if she is trying to change it
    Interesting Volturi connection as well.

  7. Huh, I’ve lived in Denmark and Noot doesn’t sound like the danish word for nut, which I think is “nΓΈd” or you would probably spell it like “noed” πŸ˜›
