A lot of sites are linking to this article stating that initially Oregon was disappointed that the next two Twilight films weren’t going to be shot in Oregon. Basically it came down to two factors:
- Money: given the economy it’s way cheaper to shoot in Canada which incidentally is closer to Forks than was Portland.
- It seems this upcoming Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraiser movie ate up the majority of the state’s experienced film industry labor…which spins you back to that money thing again if they would have to import out-of-state crew.
OK, now for the fun part. Let’s see who knows the books and who’s up on upcoming events. Here are our two better questions:
1. Why does it make sense to shoot Eclipse right after New Moon? Hint: timing is everything
2. Why would it be chaotic to be filming in Vancouver next winter? Hint: think 5 rings (and we don’t mean the ones the 6 geese a laying left behind)
