The Twilight movie opens in the UK today, and the BBC talked to Kristen Stewart. who admits she has trouble with the intense scrutiny that fame brings. The BBC also wonders how vampire became touchy feely.
The Daily Record talked to Robert Pattinson, who seems to have picke dup some phobias from Twilight, or at least a sense of his own mortality.
The Daily Mirror talked to Rob on the pressure of fame, the downside of his early days in the business, and his music.
My Park continues its ongoing Twilight interviews here.
Now we know that this isn’t the UK Press, but we were strangely facinated by Edward speaking in French.
MTV has some more coverage on the acceptance speeches from Twilight’s Women of the year. In case you missed them, the acceptance speech instructions are here.
The Twilight Guy, who is taking it rather well that he was not included in the MTV Woman of the Year award, is having a BlogTV show tonight. Check out Kaleb’s site for all the details. We were intrigued by this statement, "There might be a surprise".
Now Twilight isn’t exactly a Romantic Comedy, but we’re betting that a lot of Twilighters will see themselves in this article by Carolyn Greene. You tell ’em, Carolyn!
Kristen Stewart talked to Empire in a video interview.
MOVIES.ie Rob Pattinson, looking pretty tired, gave another interview to Movies.ie. Also, according to US magazine, it was a good thing that Robert got the Twilight job when he did.
Now here’s a website we’ve never heard of before, but we love their content. It’s called DOsomething.org and has a feature called Celebrities Gone Good (after weeding out the stories of people stalking Rob in every eatery in Los Angeles…seriously, LET HIM EAT, PEOPLE…it’s great to see a positive gossip site.) and they are featuring Peter Facinelli.
Like we said a few days ago, it’s the end of the year, and aside from the obvious holidays there’s another thing that always happens this time of year.—lists, lots and lots of lists. Here are a few of the latest:
First up Stephenie, who yesterday was selected as a Time magazine influential person, can now add being selected as one of MSN’s Most influential Women to her accomplishments. We’re also going to be looking for Stephenie to make an appearance over here in the next 10 days.
Twilight is up for a bunch of awards over on moviefone. In a year where The Dark Knight, one of the most successful films of all time in many categories, is in the mix; it is going to be a tough year particularly in the best villain and movie that is worth your cash. On the other hand, we should totally be able to rock the vote on best chick flick (I know, I know…guy fans I feel your pain I really do) , best hunk, best couple. Now best breakout star is going to be interesting because Rob and Kristen are pitted against each other. So no matter what movie you love, get over there and vote!
BOX OFFICE MOJO Now the real kicker is going to be what happens with the Twilight movie now that it is, at long last, opening in European powerhouse markets like the UK, Ireland, Germany, and France, and people go back to the movies for repeat visits now that schools are on holiday break. By the end of the weekend, Twilight should probably be in the number 8 position for best selling films this year. It’s already in the number 1 genre slots for Teen Romance and Vampire. It’s in the number 2 for romantic fantasy, with a fighting chance to get to one there as well.
MTV asked Twilighters to send in video acceptance speeches as Woman of the Year honorees. It’s really going to be hard for anyone to top Vlogger Bailey (AKA No More Marbles).
Honestly, we weren’t sure what to call this one. We finally settled on Take Your Edward to Work Day.
Next we have to say thank you to fans Lauren, Cedar, Jennifer, and Melissa. Each of them emailed in to let us know that according to MSN "Isabella" was the most popular name for baby girls in 2008. Jacob and James made the grade on the boy’s top ten. Sadly, Edward didn’t make the cut.
Next, we realize that this will mostly affect our European and Asian Lexiconers, but the site will be down for some routine maintenance at about 10:00-11:00am GMT
EXTRA Taylor asked Ashley Greene if she was Team Edward or Team Jacob at last night’s Young Hollywood event. Ashley came up with the best answer of all.
Ashley and Taylor also gave shouts out to the Twilight fandom for their MTV Woman of the Year honor.
No swashbucking will not be necessary for Rob. He can concentrate on brooding. Disney confirmed that Rob’s future as a pirtate was just rumor.
Catherine talked to IGN about the Twilight ups and downs during the creative process.
The HFPA had its Salute to Young Hollywood event last night. You can catch pictures of Taylor, Nikki and Ashley, who both managed to show up in the same stunning shade of purple. Also Christian Serratos was supposed to be in attendance, but we didn’t see a picture of her.
The Tribe Coming direct to a DVD near you is Kellan Lutz in The Tribe. See a clip here. Turns out the press on this one is off, Kellan is not in the final straight to DVD version. TY Kisu
MTV has a follow up from their story on Taylor and Twilighters earlier today. They want fan participation. Check it out here and here.
As usual the LA Times does a fabulous job in explaining the looming SAG (Screen Actors Guild) strike in terms non-industry professionals can understand. To say that SAG is a house divided is the understatement of the year. This is not looking good folks with each side sending out signals that they are ready to dig in their heels over their positions.
The French Twilight Site, Impossible Facination, interviewed Peter Facinelli.
Taylor talks to MTV about the Jacob Black casting controversy.
Based on our own poll 63% of you want Taylor to continue in the role he started for the remainder of the films. He seems to have won over the heart of fans many of whom were very skeptical before seeing the film with variations of "Drown the Sharkboy" abounding.
MTV has also named its Woman of the Year, and actually it’s more like Women of the Year because it’s the female Twilight fandom as a whole. Twilighters are MTV’s Woman of the Year.
PopStar caught up with Michael Copon and got him to briefly comment on the Jacob Black casting situation.
Robert and Peter make Cosmo’s list of Hottest Guys in 2008. Our only question is what about Kellan, Cam, Jackson, Billy, Taylor…you get the idea.

My Park Magazine continues their Twilight interview series talking about safety, and Cam’s point of view.
Movie piracy is a big problem with the number of websites that provide illegal downloads growing every day. Many of which are hosted overseas where the laws and enforcement are lax. Lost revenue is cutting into industry profits making it that much harder to recoup production costs. Legal action is on the horizon.
