Lexicon Movie Event News

The Twilight Lexicon movie event in Tennessee is sold out.  If you have not yet received a confirmation e-mail with instructions on where to send your check or money order, then you do not have a reserved seat for the event.  Everyone who is still interested in attending can still e-mail [email protected] to be put on a waiting list for tickets.  We have already had a few people pull their reservations, so there is a good chance that some of you on the waiting list will get tickets.

If you have reserved a seat, make sure your money is received by the deadline or your seat will go to the next person in line on the waiting list.  There will be no warning about this!  Consider this your warning.  Money must be RECEIVED by Oct. 25, not postmarked.  Which ever tickets have not been paid for by Oct. 25 will be given out to those on our waiting list.

On a lighter note, we have heard from Hot Topic and they plan on serving as a sponsor for the event, supplying us with several Twilight related items from their store to give away in our drawing at the event!  Thank you to Hot Topic for their support!

Melissa Rosenberg to Appear in Texas

Melissa Rosenberg, the screen writer for the Twilight movie, will be appearing at the Texas Book Festival. This year the book festival has combined efforts with the Austin Film Festival for a truly enormous event.

According to their site informational email:

"The Texas Book Festival is proud to collaborate with the Austin Film Festival (October 16-23) on featuring a number of book-related movies being screened during the Film Festival, as well as a special event called Adapting Twilight – about the process of adapting Stephenie Meyer’s groundbreaking book – on Saturday, October 18th at 4pm at the Rollins Theatre at the Long Center for the Performing Arts (701 W. Riverside Dr.). Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg will be talking about adapting the book to film with a special guest from the movie possibly in attendance as well. AFF badges and film passes will get you priority seating to the event; individual tickets ($9) go on sale 30 minutes before the event takes place."

Twilighters reaching out

The Twilight Twenty Somethings have come up with a breast cancer awareness campaign. October is national breast cancer awareness month. According to admin, Liz:

"Along with our site "going pink," we are trying to raise money to donate to the American Breast Cancer Foundation (http://www.abcf.org/).  We have a special edition twilight themed "pink" shirt.  We feature both a fitted women’s t-shirt and normal t-shirt that can be ordered in child sizes.  Usually all of our products have our logo on the back of them but we felt we would open up this chance to give back to all of the Twilight community, so we left it off this time.  ALL of the commission we make will be donated to the foundation."

The Novel Novice site has launched a Rock the Vote campaign Twilight style.  They have lots of great info on how if you are 18 or older in the US you can register to vote, and how if say you are away at school, you can send in an absentee ballot. Their site and ours is staying 100% politically neutral. We support the idea that people should vote, but who you vote for should be your choice.

Preparaciones de Amanecer

Finalmente Amanecer viene a los hispanohablantes!

OK, in English, Breaking Dawn is finally arriving in the Spanish speaking world on Wednesday night, and they are celebrating in a big way. Now I know everyone makes a big deal about the English speaking fans, but the Spanish speaking fans are just as passionate.

Alfagura, the Spanish publishing house, has decorated the FNCA shops (think their versions of Borders and Barnes and Noble).

The Sitiges Film Festival is going to be featuring movie promos. Check out this one made by Javier of Crepusculo.

In South America they are celebrating too with their release matching time zone wise the release in Spain.

Thanks to Javier of Crepusculo and Barb of Eclipse LA for their help with this story.

Cast news

Liz Reaser’s new show, The Ex List, debuts tonight on CBS. Check your local schedules for times near you. There are some really cool videos featuring Liz on the CBS website with behind the scenes looks and sneak peeks.

Now Jackson Rathbone fans, not to be outdone by the enthusiasm of a certain sock campaign, have come up with a super idea. Given that Jackson is musically talented and was often seen on set strumming his guitar during downtime, he must go through quite a few guitar picks. Jackson’s worries are now over because the Twilight Mafia is on the case.

Hot Topic, Michael’s, Borders Merchandise

Hot topic has added several new items to its Twilight collection including pins, key chains, and baby creepers. Thanks to multiple people who emailed.

Michael’s Craft stores, according to their recent flyers, have Twilight mini prints on sale. TY to Laura.

We also hear that Borders has some new items in the works and we hope to have images on those shortly.

Movie News

We recently checked with Summit Films regarding the status of fan involvement during the premiere. According to Summit the premiere will take place at the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater on November 17th. It’s standard to do a premiere a few days ahead of the nationwide release.

Fans are welcomed to come out and see the stars by standing in roped off areas.  We specifically asked Summit "Is there any restriction security wise on who can be outside the theater. In other words would the average fan have the opportunity to stand behind a rope line and see the stars arrive?"  and we were told "There are no restrictions regarding being present for arrivals at the premiere."

We also asked if the average fan would have any opportunity to actually get inside the premiere, and they are getting back to us on that. However they did share a bunch of new info seen below.

We’re excited to announce the launch date for the new TWILIGHT trailer, set to debut online next Thursday, October 9.  It can also be seen in theaters attached to select films (at the discretion of the exhibitor). There will also be a sneak peak of the new trailer on Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, October 9th. Immediately following the sneak peak, Summit is letting the fans be the first to see the trailer online in its entirety and share it.

We wanted you, the devoted Twilight fans, to be the first to hear and share this exclusive news!

  • A few details about the launch that you should know:
  • We want to give fans an opportunity to see the trailer first before anyone online via the Twilight widget, available at the official site – http://www.twilightthemovie.com
  • Following a television debut, the trailer will be available exclusively via the widget at 8:00 PM PST for one hour before going wide in HD on MySpace
  • A countdown clock will be added to the widget shortly, timed to the trailer debut online at 8:00 PM PST
