Twilight Tuesday

This week’s Twilight Tuesday is an interview with Anna Kendrick

MTV: Give us your take on Jessica Stanley.

Kendrick: Well, I always feel like if you read the books a little while ago, maybe you wouldn’t remember my character. Jessica is just, well, a friend of Bella’s. But she is human; she is a chatterbox and really insecure, and she basically is jealous of all the attention that Bella gets. I think she likes Bella, but at the same time feels a little threatened. She wants to keep her as close as possible.

Anna also asks MTV if they have heard any good gossip.

Check out all the great Twilight stuff that MTV has to offer.

Movie News

Media Blvd. magazine has an interview with not one, but two Twilight stars. Both Taylor Lautner and Edi Gathegi chat with Christina.

Edi is also featured over at The Movie Blog where they ask "Is Laurent a vampire with a good heart?"

Soundtrack Poll

So a lot of the Lexicon staff is going to be at various Hot Topics around the country to hear the soundtrack on Friday night. We are curious how many of you are going to be at a Hot Topic ( that and to be honest we’re checking out the polling software).

Remember to Tune Into Spike TV

According to Summit Entertainment:

New TWILIGHT footage premieres October 21st on Spike TV:

Check out Exclusive World Premiere footage from TWILIGHT, presented by Cam Gigandet on Spike TV’s SCREAM 2008, the first and only event honoring the best in fantasy, sci-fi, comics and horror!
SCREAM 2008 Premieres Tuesday, October 21 At 9 PM, ET/PT Only On Spike TV.

If you weren’t excited about SCREAM 2008 before, start getting excited now! We look forward to hearing your thoughts on the footage!

Now clearly Summit is biased as to the product being shown; however, Buzznet had a blogger in attendance when the event taped the other night who wasn’t a Twilight fan at all, and this is what they had to say:

TWILIGHT: An EPIC world premiere of seriously terrifying proportions from the upcoming, highly anticipated feature film based on the books by Stephenie Meyer. Did I mention it was introduced by (which means I was in the same room as) cast member Kellan Lutz? I’ve never read the books and I’m totally not a superfan, but I can tell you with utmost sincerity that TWILIGHT IS GOING TO RULE. Watch the show on Tuesday to see if you agree.

Teen Reads Week

According to the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), the group that sponsors the annual Teen Reads Week, Eclipse ranks as a top favorite (note due to publication deadlines Eclipse qualified for consideration and not Breaking Dawn).  This year the theme for Teen Reads week was teh very appropriate "Books With a Bite."

"The votes are in … and Stephenie Meyer again rises to the top of the Teens’ Top Ten! More than 8,000 teens voiced their choice for their favorite books in the annual Teens’ Top Ten poll during Teen Read Week, Oct. 12-18, with “Eclipse,” the third book in Meyer’s vampire series easily taking first place. This is Meyer’s second time atop the Teens’ Top Ten list, as “New Moon” took the top slot last year."

Hot Topic and MTV

Hot Topic has another new tee. This one is on a lamb theme.

MTV also has posted about Hot Topic and their listening parties.  They then ask the question if you’ll actually set foot in a Hot Topic store because in doing so it’s supposedly confirming stereotypes about Twilight fans. according to MTV:

"If you’re a “Twilight” fan with an unhealthy obsession for “Nightmare Before Christmas”-branded ephemera, or gigantic, strap-laden black pants, you’re no doubt jumping for joy over the news that on October 24, Hot Topic stores across the country will be hosting listening parties for the “Twilight” soundtrack.

On the other, attending the listening party would not only require you to actually set foot inside a Hot Topic, but would also mean you’d be actively confirming every single stereotype of the “Twilight” fanbase.

It’s a conundrum, indeed.

So — “Twilight” fans who are a little wary of Hot Topic — this one’s for you: On October 24, will you be in attendance at your neighborhood Hot Topic store? Or will shame and the glaring eye of the public keep you away? Let us know in the comments.

"

They want to know what you think.

Twilight Live Podcast

TwilightLive is selling T-shirts(see draft of logo above)  for its Los Angeles event.  The shirts are white, with the new and unreleased TwilightLive logo on the front, with the location of the show (Los Angeles), date, and names of the participating sites on the back.  White shirts are perfect for having your friends (or favorite actors!) sign, or they look great with jeans and sneakers.

If you are interested in ordering, you need to indicate that interest to TwilightLive (see below) by this Friday, October 24.  If there is enough interest to form an order, payments for the shirts will be due 2 days later, by 12 am Eastern time the following Sunday, October 26.  If the order does not fill, shirts will not be sold on site.  If the order does fill and allow shirts to be sold on-site, there will more than likely be an increase in cost.

Shirts are $20 (available in Adult/Unisex sizes S to XL, please add $2 for XXL and XXXL, and $4 for XXXXL) and can be picked up at the Los Angeles podcast.  If you need to have the shirt mailed to you, please plan to add $6 for shipping (please contact TwilightLive for an international shipping quote).  Payment will be made through PayPal, which accepts checks, credit cards, and bank account payments.

If you are interested, please email [email protected] with subject line ‘T-SHIRTS’, your name, the number and sizes of shirts you will be ordering, and a way to contact you (email or phone #).

Everybody who orders a shirt will be entered in a drawing to win 2 front row seats to the podcast and concert.

Proceeds from the shirt sales go to purchasing give-aways for the live podcasts and defraying costs associated with hosting the website and audio.

As a side note the Lexicon’s Be My Escape will be part of the podcast panel. She was last heard on the Twilight Live inaugural event back on August 1st.
