The Evening Post… has an article about our fascination with Vampires. The article explores some of our favorite vampires and some not so much: from the cancelation of "Moonlight" to a brand new HBO series that will be debuting next season entitled "True Bloods." "Twilight" is described as an avenue in which its fans can escape to a different world from their own.

Mercury News has an article about all the cool things you could do over the holiday weekend. From Fireworks displays to parades to blockbuster movies to checking out The Host there is a wide variety of ideas. Go check it out!

Aced Magazine has a review of The Host.

  1. That first article sounds cool. I definitely recognize that “Twilight” is an avenue that allows me to escape the pressures of work and reality into a more magical, Edward-filled existence. Le sigh…

  2. I just finished The Host today, and I thought it was phenomenal. Stephenie Meyer is a genius, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for future books.

  3. Twilighter Fanpire says:

I agree with u Just Another Danger Magnet! How i wish the Twilight world was real…

  4. i love getting the ‘evening news’ in the morning… the joys of living overseas… 🙂 and i agree… i with vampires were real… (they are aren’t they?)

  5. xKatieXCullenx says:

Same. Who wouldn’t want a sexy vampire or werewolf of their own? 😉

  6. Melanie says:

The Host is awesome. & how I wish the Twilight world were real, but at least we have Robert Pattinson. lol

  7. Lomesir says:

Correction: The HBO series is called “True Blood”.

Mm, vampires. They’re so right about the escapism angle. Twilight just sucks me away (no pun intended) from my problems.

  8. robyn_sarah says:

I can’t believe they canceled Moonlight. It seems like every good vampire show always stops after the first season. I think they should be Stephenie to write a T.V. series, it would be so awesome and maybe it stay on longer than a year!

  9. Twilighter says:

Everyone wishes that Twilight had a real existence in life. Why? Because that book has everything. I’m one of those people.. and I’m still hoping that there is a tiny chance that all of that is real…:)

  10. True bloods= sookie stackhouse= love! I can’t wait to see the series! And yes we have a fascination with vamps

  11. littleyellowporsche says:

mmmm….I do agree with the article about why we love vampires….so many of the have been so darn sexy! (i.e. Edward Cullen and Angel)

  12. Oooh Booth from Bones is Angel? I might have to see angel now.

  13. I’ve been waiting for soooo long for True blood to finally premiere! Awesomeness.

  14. Twifanatic Amanda says:

I’m really glad that the Host is getting such positive reviews because it’s my favorite!

  15. Sara( Yeah theres many of us)and her Sister says:

): I miss Moonlight… It was my fix while waiting for Twilight stuff… ): I’m so sad it is cancelled ):

  16. lil_voice1 says:

Ditto what Sara said…..i watched moonlight when it was on tv here in Australia and then all of a sudden it wasn’t on any more….they just stopped it half way through the series 🙁 i never got to see the whole season…. 🙁
im now interested in what True Bloods is like though…..

  17. Oh my God I miss Moonlight sooooo much! It was the ONLY tv show I actually liked and cared enough to follow… And it was Moonlight who started my Vampire obssession, which lead me to the Twilight series… But dear God, wasn’t Mick St. John a treat? It was just like a grown-up version of Twilight…

But what makes me really mad is that they didn’t even finish the story! They didn’t give the show a chance! Oh CBS… GRRRRRRRR!!!!

    *intense fangirl frustration*

(I’m sorry, but Moonlight was mentioned… I can’t even comment on the other news. Too. Much. Sadness.)

  18. I really wish that people can start to come up with more vampire show ideas! the real stuff you know like without the capes and messed up hair… but for now.. ANYTHING vampires will do 😛

  19. I’m really sad they cancelled Moonlight. It was the only TV show I actually made time to watch. I have the entire first season on my iPod and I am going to miss not getting more episodes to watch…and the series finale wasn’t much of an ending.

Oh, well…I will request that the rents order HBO

  20. Dazzled says:

I can never watch or read any vampire stuff ever again after reading Twilight, im just like, guys vampires aren’t afraid of garlic/ the sun/ long wooden poles aka stakes….

  21. Jessica says:

True Blood is actually based on a Vampire book called “Dead into Dark” my friend lent it to me because the girl falls in love with the vampire and SHE can read minds. It was pretty good for the first few books then it got kinda dumb.

  22. Jessica says:

sorry “Dead UNTIL Dark” wow too many bloody marys with dinner.

  23. STARPULSE….good article!!!

  24. Melanie says:

I was sad when Moonlight was cancelled 🙁 It was pretty good! All the character development and tragedies and stuff were all where they should’ve been…. And then off course they had to cancel it right after a whole thing about the vampires possibly getting discovered…. Grrrrsss….

    Vampires rock ^^ lol

  25. Nicole Loves Edward says:

Wow, they way the described Twilight is exactly how I feel about the book, just they summarized why i like the series. I can go on forever as i am sure most of you can 🙂

  26. I saw only the first three episodes of moonlight – the fourth will air on monday here in germany ( and by the way… I read an article that says that the viewing rate is pretty good here)
I totally loved it and i’m sad about the cancelling. I never saw “Angel´” or something and moonlight is so great…

  27. Enough for Forever says:

I loved most of what they mentioned in there: Buffy, Angel, Moonlight, Charmed, and, of course, Twilight.

Can I say something? Who else thinks that in his younger days (meaning season one of Buffy) David Boreanaz(Angel) would have been the perfect Edward? He had the good looks, the velvet voice (sorry, but I don’t think Rob pulls off the American accent well) and the acting skills that are beyond description. Sadly, unlike his character, David aged – aged very well, granted, but not to where he can pull off seventeen.

*Don’t take what I said (about the voice) as an attack on Rob. I love him and I think he will be a wonderful Edward, and I can’t wait to see him on the big screen in December.*

  28. yuppers says:

there are several polls about twilight at people choice

    check out the buzz tab…
    hurry only 6 days left!!!

  29. Facsination with vampires has increased ,I am sure, since people read twilight … and THEN SAW THE CAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    HELLO, HOTTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. Not that that is most important, or anything…

  31. Angelica says:

The new series “true blood” sounds like Twilight. . . Hmmm. . maybe I’ll watch it. I wonder what it will be like.
