To Speed Racer or To not Speed Racer…

…that is the hypothetical question Larry from the MTV movies blog is asking.

Larry states, "And here’s the rub: If you keep your eyes peeled on these here Internets at the beginning of next week, let’s just say that there’s a good chance you’ll discover that very same teaser trailer. It ain’t 1998 anymore, folks, and a decade later we’ve all become more accustomed to watching a hot trailer unfold on our computer monitors."

So, read between the lines here folks.  I don’t know about the rest of you but seeing as the Speedracer preimere is a definite maybe at best,  I’m will be tuned into MTV on Tuesday.

ScullingOnSquam updates day 2

Check out ScullingOnSquam’s latest update from her amazing visit to the Twilight set last week.  This is one amazing post, don’t miss it!

Larry From MTV…

From Larry at the MTV Blog after recieving your emails:

Woah, woah. Hey everybody, I just wanted to let you know that I would loooove to interview Mike, and have every intention to do so. We had all said we’d plan something out, but the past week has been so busy with all the “Iron Man” stuff, the other movies we cover, the fact that I have a pregnant wife – and ahem, planning something ENORMOUS for next week’s MTV Twilight Tuesday!

I promise, I’m scheduling a chat with Mike soon, and can’t wait to talk to him.

As always, thanks for all your support, Twilight homeys. Oh, and I swear: I’m also still trying to get to the bottom of what the music is in that “Meet the Characters” video.

Thanks Lexicon, too, for all your love!

Thank you Lexiconers for showing your Mike/Mike the LOVE!

Comic Con San Diego

We have confirmed with Summit that they will have a "major booth" at Comic-Con in this summer.  http://www.comic-con.org/cci/

For those of you not familiar with Comic-Con, it started out almost 40 years ago as a comic book collectors convention. Today comic books is still a major part of the convention with the opportunity to meet industry giants like Eddie Campbell and Al Jaffee. On the other hand, it has branched out over the years to include sci-fi/fantasy writers and movies. People frequently attend in costumes that rival the dedication to characters at other conventions. In short, there may be other imitators, but there is no Comic-Con like THE Comic-Con.  Movies like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and PotC have all given special attention and footage to Comic-Con in the past.

In any event, it is too soon to confirm who exactly will be appearing at the Twilight Movie Comic-Con booth. As soon as we know, we’ll link. However, keep in mind that Comic-Con Special Guests frequently change due to filming schedule switches, signing tours, unexpected PR junkets and things like that, it’s just the nature of the business.

EDIT: We just reposted this because something strange happened in the coding. Apologies to anyone whose comment was lost.

movie update

MTV Canada has some Twilight Movie footage here.

Cam Gigante, James in the twilight movie, is to receive the Rising Male Star of the Year Award.

Special Perk for British fans

British fans who buy The Host in a Borders store are getting a very special perk. The are getting Midnight Sun in a booklet format. We are still awaiting confirmation, but we believe this is the portion of Midnight Sun that is available to anyone on Stephenie’s website in PDF format, not the entire story. To the best of our knowledge, Stephenie has not as of yet finished Midnight Sun, and intends to work on it after her upcoming signing tours.

Time Poll Results

The results from the Time Magazine Poll on the 100 most influential Americans are in. Stephenie finished 48th in a field that included everyone from presidential candidates, to video game designers, to songwriters.  All-in-all not a shabby result for a first timer on the list. Stephenie finished just behind notable women such as Caroline Kennedy and ahead of Tina Fey.  Orson Scott Card does the Stephenie write-up.
