Personal History: Claire is the niece of Emily Young. One day, when she and her sister were visiting Emily, Quil saw her and he imprinted. This caused quite a stir because she is only two years old.
Bella is rather horrified by this news, but Jacob explains that "There’s nothing romantic about it at all, not for Quil, not now." He goes on to explain that Quil will become whatever Claire needs her to be and that no toddler in the world will be more loved or well looked after than Claire will and that, one day, when Claire is old enough, they’ll be just as happy as Emily and Sam are now.
