  1. I loved the Twilight *whole) Series, I am sad at Stephenie Meyers coments that she glad shes over it!!! Those of us that are die hards would LOVE< LOVE< LOVE more to come! I rank it up there with Gone of the wind and OZ as my all time Favorites and wish there was more!!!!

    • You should go to Stephenies website and read her comments regarding the interview that those comments were taken from. As always the media put a completey different spin on it, and when it is put in context the meaning is totally different. Stephenie loves Twilight, always has always will.

    • I’ve been editing the Twilight movies for a while, adding music and mixing it up, and when I started, I put together Breaking Dawn into one movie.

If anyone is interested you can check out these examples:

      15 step – baseball scene
all I’ve ever needed – Cottage love scene
In a heartbeat – Bella’s venom in the dance studio (and outro for dream sequence)
The Great Eatlon – Imprint/ Fight/ Wolf resolution and Bella’s alive
Iris – Sleeping with Sirens – First Kiss
Your Love – Phox (outfield cover) – New Moon credits (following initials)

and many many more, so yeh…

I think the movies could not only be edited together, but transformed. Plus 3d conversion could be cool too, I mean that 1st scene in twilight is begging for it ;)

      • That’s a great idea and I’d love to see how you edited BD into one film. I know Bill Condon mentioned they did a “super cut” if you will where there isn’t a division and it would be interesting to see the transition of Bella waking up to her new life. Hopefully one day we’ll get to see that version.

        • Well I did alot of stuff, and have continually added bits and pieces since then – just fine tuning everything, like pacing and pitch, adding score, but it’s fairly sketchy, just as a fan, you know. I’m really proud of the ending :P

But yeh it’s quite cool to be able to do – Like I made it so that Zafrina was the source of the end vision – because Alice changed the future when she said ‘now’ – which was actually a secret message to her etc. This is cool as well as you can even make it that Nahuel possibly never even existed XD not that I would want that, it’s just cool how things can be different.

        • By the way, it clocks in at around about 2 hours 15 before credits, so that’s quite cool. I’d love to put them up on youtube or something to show you, but I’m already 2 strikes XD so if you look up the music and have the scenes on you can get a good idea.

I’ve sent these ideas and things to Stephenie, but she probably won’t see them, or will think I’m nuts.

  3. It was always possible, Summit were just money hungry and they were trying to copy harry potter and the deathly hallows. the difference between breaking dawn and deathly hallows is that deathly hallows was a deep and complex book. the split was deserving.

Breaking Dawn was a simple and straight forward book. it did not need to be split into two films. Now Hunger Games is splitting their last book as well. the book is even less than 400 pages.

    • I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you, that BD didn’t need to be divided into two films. Given the fact that they’ve never felt the need to have a nice two and a half or near three hour film, it needed to be divided between the storyline of Bella’s wedding, discovery her pregnancy and Jacob’s view of the Cullen family. That was necessary for part 1. After Bella’s transformation into a vampire, part 2 is a detective story because Bella has to find the clues of what Alice left, while they gather the witnesses to convince Aro Renesmee isn’t an immortal child. The alchemy story arc of the series culminates with Bella’s transformation and she needed her partner (Edward) to help her achieve that goal. She is then able to use the ability of being a shield in order to protect her family and friends. This is the third time I’ve seen an alchemy role-reversal of the sulfur male helping his mercury female partner, after reading The Little White Horse and Phillip Pullman’s Dark Materials trilogy.

      • No ,it did not need to be divided that is ridiculous. If WB did not come up with the idea of splitting the last HP book, Summit will not have. It was just a copycat. Hunger Games has now jumped on the bandwagon as well. its getting pathetic.

Honestly if its not an HP or LOTR book don’t bother splitting it. The Hobbit does not even deserve to be split.

Many twilight fans hated breaking dawn (the book).

Bella’s wedding, transformation, Alice story line, Jacob and Nessie , The Volturi could have been put in a 3 hour film.

Return of the King was one film and it worked.

Summit bluntly copied harry potter, Only thing is breaking dawn does not have the story and in depth plot of deathly hallows. Deathly Hallows 2 is siting at 96% on RT. BD 2 got a 48% RT.

Even with deathly hallows having two films they still cut out a lot of stuff whereas with breaking dawn they just dragged things out.

Mockingjay will suffer the same fate as Breaking Dawn. Sure it will make money but like breaking dawn there will be no substance.

This is the reason why the first film of BD was so poorly received.

breaking dawn will have had a stringer critical reception if it was a solid 3 hr. film.

        • That was my point. They didn’t make BD into a solid three hour film and wanted to make more money by dividing it into two films. You also have to look at who “hated” BD as you mention. For those readers already married and have families, then they got BD, whereas I could see why teenagers had a problem with the book, because they’re not ready to take that step in their life. You’re either in family life or you’re not. The biggest “vocal” group of BD haters was the hard core Team Jacob groups, as I’m sure there were some Team Edward people that didn’t like the book either. Yet the Jacob people were the most vehement group to voice their opinions about the novel, because they wanted things to go his way. I guess they forgot he’s not the main hero of the story, therefore he has to accept the situation the way it is. Sure we didn’t see the plot line coming, but I could say the same about the last two HP books, which were not universally loved either. If you want to argue book length and the studios need to divide them to make more money, look at how they butchered Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It’s the longest in the series and yet they condensed it down to OOTP “greatest hits”. Certain plot details were left out and it made the narrative uneven. It was the last HP book that had the most depth and the other two felt like rush jobs when JK Rowling wrote them.

          • Speaking of HP, big news eh?

Might tempt Summit into ‘copying’ :P

          • I disagree with you when you say the last 2 HP books did not have depth. the genius of JK Rowling was that as every potter book went by it became darker, less predictable and way more complex. The say the last 2 books are not universally loved is ridiculous. The 7 HP books are equally loved and are beautiful written books which will stand the test of time. Sadly. I cant say the same for the twilight books.

HP is one of the modern fantasy books that gets to be in every top ten series list and this are list that includes Lord Of the Rings. Famous five and the Chronicles of Narnia.

Half blood prince was a well rounded book, it gave an in-depth story of Voldemort’s past and Snape killing Dumbledore left things in the open because we didn’t know what would happen next. We got to see the Ron and Hermione relationship progress further and let me not even begin to tell you how Ron/Hermione were far superior to Bella/Edward.

Half blood Prince was also a very critical acclaimed book and has sold more than 66+ million copies that is almost the sales of the 4 twilight books.

then we get to last book. deathly hallows. another well grounded book. Perhaps one of the best finales ever both in movies and books. Breaking Dawn and Deathly Hallows are not even on the same level in terms of quality and quantity. Have you ever heard the phrase of how JK Rowling told a beautiful love story in just 4 chapters of deathly hallows than the whole twilight books combined.

There was a lot of depth in that book.the tale of the three brothers was genius and added to the main plot of the film. there was also voldemort’s final destruction and we got to see who Snape really was.

Nothing was ever rushed in HP. If you watch some of JK Rowling’s interview. she said she already knew and has planned out how everything would end . I believe she made this statement when the 4th book was released.

OOTP was perhaps the weakest film in the series. However 78% fresh on RT is a still a great score so it was still a very good film. far better than any of the twilight films.

Lastly it may have been best if WB had split OOTP. In case you don’t know , WB splitting HP books had been a long time coming. WB initially planned to split Goblet of fire in 2004 but that didn’t work out so its not like they just happen to split Deathly Hallows. WB did have the idea in their mind even before the book was released in 2007 and the final film that was announced in 2009/10. It was a long time coming for WB.

Summit just did a rushed and stupid copycat with Breaking Dawn. There is no way Summit would have split BD if WB did not do it first with DH.

There was nothing sincere about spiting breaking dawn. Summit did it for money and now they are doing it with Mockingjay. A book with less than 400 pages.

  4. Although I love them all, I believe all the Twilight movies did not to justice to any of the books.
In todays world, people sit through 2 1/2-3 hour movies all the time. However all the Twilight movies all stayed well below that and took a lot out of the books to do it. They also added things that didn’t happen in the books as well as changing important things. A perfect example is Jacob. In the movies, Jacob is portrayed almost as a saint. However if you’ve read the books, Jacob does a lot of not so saintly things. He’s NOT the always nice guy as he is in the movies, not by a long shot.
Certainly for movie purposes a lot of minutia from the books has to be removed. However, they removed a lot of important things as well as added and changed things that did not happen in the books. Although they did this with each movie, a perfect example in Breaking Dawn (Pt 1) is the siege and attack Sam launched against the Cullens. That did not happen in the book at all. In the book, Sam takes a wait and see approach. This is one of the reasons they split Breaking Dawn into two movies, along with the stupid reluctance to make the movies longer.
Because they refused to make the movies longer along with the addition and subtraction of things that either did or did not happen in the book, I personally know many people who hadn’t read the books, saw the Twilight movie and hated it. I convinced them to read the book and they loved it. Each and everyone of them ended up reading all the books and became die hard Twilight Saga fans of the books but feel the movies don’t come close to telling the actual story.

  5. Where’s the petition to sign to get this in theaters????????!!!!!!!
