With new photos of The Host recently out, we’re curious which is your favorite character. They each in their own way (unlike Edward and Jacob) “get the girl”, so which one do you like better as a character?

Always team Ian!
Hm I will have to see when the movie comes out to decide but since I read the book I have always been Team Ian
Team Ian! Even If I was a bear or a spider or a seaweed, if i was from Fire World or any other, I will always luv Ian. lol
I was Team Ian in the book, and I don’t think there’s any doubt I’ll be Team Ian in the film.
Book wise I liked Ian. His character was so kind. Jared was nice but reading from Wanda’s perspective we fall in love with Ian. We didn’t fall in love with Jared because she was already in love with him from the start basically.
I don’t want to say anything spoilery, but it’s tribute to Stephenie Meyer’s skill as a writer that we the readers not only accept Wanda-Ian’s love but root for them. That can’t be an easy thing for an author to do given the book’s premise.
Not only that, the Host really has some profound philosophical and sociological allegories.

Team Ian!!! I love the way his character evolves.
There is no sense in doing teams for Jared and Ian, since they both are in love with two different characters.
My thought: there doesn’t need to be a team anything. It’s not a love triangle. Jared loves Melanie and Ian loves Wanderer. The end.
