  1. I love Shannon Hale. I like her sense of humor. I’ve read all of her children’s books, young adult books and Austenland. The first time I read Austenland (yes, I’ve read it twice), it was giving to me by my mother when I was visiting and needing something to lift my spirits. And it did just that. It had enough “austen” feel for my likes, enough romance, yet not predictable. I’m looking forward to more from Midnight in Austenland.

  4. I really loved Austinland! I started reading the book because I loved the concept , but then I couldn’t stop because I could relate to the main character. It was a sweet waltz between funny without riping apart the things I love, reality and the fictional world we wish we could experience. Thanks

  6. My favorite part in Austenland is the airport scene in front if the customer service desk. Like Jane, I love her final goodbye, as she walks away to board her plane.

  7. Dee Atkinson says:

I have not read this book, but excited to do so since it is endorsed by you. Please pick me.

  8. Hairproductjunkie says:

The thing I love most about Shannon Hale’s books is her ability to write YA, children’s, AND adult literature. I started out reading her Goose Girl series, followed by my favorite of hers, Book of A Thousand Days. When I started Austenland, I wondered if she would still be able to write as well in a completely different genre, and she definitely delivered! I find that so impressive!

  9. Dayi Martinez says:

Wow! This is such a coincidence! I just read Shannon Hale’s Princess Academy and I loved it! It was one of those rare times I could actually identify with the heroine, and I loved the messages in the book. It made me want to read her other books and it would be great if I could continue with Midnight in Austenland.

  10. I can’t believe the sequel is finally here! ;)

  11. Austenland was such a different approach to the very popular Austen-fan-fic genre. I’m very much looking forward to the follow-up!

  12. Omg, what rock have I been under, I haven’t read the book, but would love to! If it has Stephs approval it has mine I’m sure….Yipee, something new to read….:)

  13. Veray Carter says:

My favorite part in Austenland was when they were on the plane and he was terrified about the take off and was holding onto the seat for dear life. She reaches over and puts her arms around her and kisses his socks off. Something he really needed of course. I loved it!!!

  14. Veray Carter says:

    *him* not her :)

  15. I love everything about Austenland!

  16. I would love to have a favorite part of Austenland but I haven’t read it yet! It’s at the top of my list to procure and devour. I love Shannon Hale for coming up with this concept. What better way to experience Jane Austen’s world than to go.

  19. Liz Clark says:

Love Shannon Hale’s books. I read them with my daughters. My favorite part about Austenland was wondering what Mr. Darcy’s real personality was like.
