Nikki Reed: Gurl Magazine Interview

Nikki_Photo_dosomethignWe just got to meet Nikki Reed at the Creation Entertainment Official Twilight Convention in Minneapolis. What really strikes you is Nikki’s openness with the fans the very different life that she has lead, not at all the typical Hollywood starlet story.

In part of her interview, to talk about her new movie The Last Day of Summer, Nikki talks about how hard it is for young girls to find themselves and her take how to pick your path.

Ok, so aside from getting braces, what advice would you give gURLs who also feel like they don’t really fit in?

I think it’s important for people to experience. I don’t like when advice is given and it just feels so unrealistic, like, “Oh, just stay true to yourself and don’t ever join the cool crowd.” So just experiment and experience everything, but to a limit. Mildly. See things and do things but don’t lose yourself and don’t forget yourself in the process because it’s really so minor in the grand scheme of things.

So true. Thanks for the reminder! We needed that!

Yeah! Even now at 22, I’m just starting to grasp the concept that there’s so much life ahead of me. It really becomes more about your family and your life so just make good choices and take care of yourself. If you wanna party and stuff and that’s what you feel you need to do, then try to do good in school also so that you can get somewhere. “

For those of you doing last minute back-to-school shopping this weekend (believe it or not school hasn’t started yet for those of us who are in the Northeast) Nikki has an ongoing campaign with DoSomething.org to get school supplies to kids who need them.

    i love her.
she’s really so down to earth but still handles the media well.
    much better than kstew

  2. minnie says:

Kstew does not volunteer, donate or name drop just to grab attention.

Please let Nikki have this and leave Kstew alone.

I was in a Staples getting stuff when my friend thought it was cool to play a joke on me. He acted all excited and said “Oh my god Nikki Reed is here!” So I flipped out and went over to where he was and then realized he was talking about the poster she was on. Even though he was being an a-hole about it, it was pretty funny. Plus I then bought $10 worth of school supplies and donated them. My friend also got a good thump on the head!

@minnie Someone who disappears from the media circuit for months at a time is hardly someone I’d call an attention seeker.

At least Nikki is using her fame for a good cause. What has Kristen Stewart done other than smoke pot, get drunk and flip off photographers? Nothing. So STFU, go back to your little robsten bubble and leave Nikki alone.

  5. Shesawesome says:

The most beautiful twilight girl!!! Both inside and out!
