If you’ve read Eclipse, then you know that Bella kisses Jacob just before the battle in Eclipse. It’s something that Jacob fans have always used in support of their argument and proven to be one of the biggest talking points of the series. Kristen Stewart talked to MTV about it as well.
“Bella gets to a point where the only way to save him is to kiss him, and what surprises her is she’s not only able to do it…”
She continued: “She can clearly see that he offers a really desirable path that [wasn't there] before, because she was so obsessed with Edward. She just had to like nothing else. She had no perspective, and so it’s a moment.”

Why are they featuring fall clothes in the JULY issue?
This is the scene where Stephenie Meyer says that it shows just how much Bella really does love Edward. She has another choice now, a good one and still she chooses the harder path to be with Edward.It took me a while to see it that way but, I do now.

If i wanted to spend 5 or 6 bucks on a magazine it would not be to see just one person. I would rather walk around the store and read it. Kristen know her character so well and she seems to know everything Bella is feeling. “the kiss” is infamous now. She didn’t sleep with Jacob and only kiss him for real just one time. But that kiss had had far reaching implications and really had fans wondering who she would choose and really frighten Bella. I AM TOTALLY FOR EDWARD but i would have like to see Ms. Meyer be brave and let Bella explore a relationship with Jacob a little. They at least deserve a chance since they were in love with each other. So instead of four books she could have extended it to six books

They make and design the clothes very much in advanced from the actual production and then the mainstream reproduction. It’s kind of messed up for your average buyer but if you’re looking to be “trendy”, then this is to your advantage.

i completely agree. i didnt like jacob the first time i read the books because of that reason. and it took me awhile to understand why she kissed him. but now i get it and its all good because she ends up with edward, where she belongs and everything works out like its supposed to.
dont u guys get it? she loves both of them….in diffrent ways, but its love none the less….she just couldnt see the consequenses of the choices she was making before, before this kiss offered her an alternative to vampireism…but in the end it comes down to bellas “obsession” over edward, and who she cant live without

nobody said she didn’t love both of them. Yet, she herself told Edward she loved him more.They simply were meant to be.She could see herself with both yet not without Edward. They are many types of love she had to chose and she chose what she couldn’t do without.That’s how it is when you find “the one” you can’t see your life without them.
Nancy, you’re right, well put. And although she loves Jacob in a different way, if she had chosen him he would never find his true love. Jacob doesn’t realize now why he’s truly tied to Bella, and even to Edward. The fact that Bella and Edward are meant for each other makes it possible for Jacob to be with his soulmate.

It definitely solidifies her commitment to Edward that she finally understands her options…and the sacrifices she’ll be making in leaving humanity behind. But I still wish they hadn’t kissed like that. I especially dislike that Jake manipulates her emotions…She could have very easily realized that she loved Jacob just based on the trauma of the upcoming battle and threat of something happening to him.
I know that alot of you don’t like the wayJacob behaved in the books, however we must remember that he is only sixteen and not experienced in dealing with relationships. I’m glad he opened Bella’s eyes even if it was not in a chivalrous manner. Bella got to see why she couldn’t be without Jacob and she was given a new perspective of how things could be for her. In the end as stated by others here, she choice the more difficult path, a path that shows her love and commitment for Edward
I hated reading this! And I’m going to hate watching it onscreen. But I know it was kind of important to the story & making Bella really open her eyes to what she is giving up to be w/Edward & shows her commitment to Edward because she wants to still be with him. (And Jacob manipulating Bella into it make me dislike him that much more.)
…i don’t get why all of you guys say that you hated reading this part of the book…you can see love triangles in almost every romantic movie or book…
…maybe you would like it better if stephenie left out the jacob character…that would be a very interesting story (yeah right!!!) and it would probably be over in just one book…
…like all of you would like that two hot guys are in love with you…yeah i see your point…poor bella…;))))
