I love Ashley. She is very beautiful and very sweet in person.
But I think she should stop taking her clothes off when she wants to be taken seriously. That’s just my opinion, so don’t take it personal…
My thought is that this is really art-and what more of a beautiful canvas can you have than the female body?! Just because there are no clothes does not mean it’s objectification. My 9 year old daughter saw this over my shoulder (which I did not even think about turning it off) and she thought it was “so pretty,” and marveled over each scale. She does go to a creative arts school, but I think her reaction would have been the same anyway.
I agree with you,Franzi. She is suppose to be a role model for young girls. Such a shame.
Everyone needs to chill, Ashley’s job is to keep forwarding her career, no just to be a role model. She is getting a lot of attention from this campaign and is probably getting a lot of money for it. This is her job and she can do what she likes, just because Twilight was her first big role does not mean that everything she does has to be based off of the fan base. Also honestly when i first saw these i thought she was wearing a bathing suit, and these photos/ videos are very different than flat out nude in my opinion.

Franzi and Betty are complete prudes. I still respect her. Yeah, if she were doing playboy and walking around with crotchless pants or hanging out with Lindsay Lohan, I wouln’t respect her. But she’s my hero for being brave and confident enough to do this. I wish I had the looks and the body to be able to do something like that!
Stay away from SoBe and other “energy drinks” because they are designed to change a person’s DNA, causing cellular permutation, leading to death and damnation of the soul.

Looks like someone’s tin hat needs adjusting. I think you’re getting a little too much conspiracy theorist Am frequency. Smack it a few times and the normal FM frequency will come back.
Better yet take the tin hat off, back away from the world domination delusion, and quite possibly go back on your meds.
I think she looks amazing but I do agree she is a role model and the great thing is…she is offered so, so many wonderful projects and the work is coming so fast apparently so I think she can be choosy on her choices.
Yes she looks fantastic but…. I don’t want her to go down that road as ultimately she won’t be taken as serious and I really want that for her as I just adore her.
I like Ashley but I do not really agree with her choice of self promotion. You dont need to take your clothes off to be taken seriously.I always think that Ashley and Kellan are like the polar opposties of Rob and Kristen.
We shouldn’t just look at actors/actresses and take them as role models automatically or assume they should be role models. We should see what they do and not do over time and then make a decision on whether to take them as a role models or not. I personally am a prude but I’m just saying that there’s no point in being disappointed in her =\

EXACTLY my point it looks like a bathing suit…she’s not baring it all for an ad! Many stars shoot nude, and in my opinion this is like the same thing as doing a shoot in your underwear.
Someone did not see the videos where you can see “hair” if you get my drift, and other “things.” Believe me, when she is frolicking in the ocean, you can VERY well tell she has no clothes on.
In the pics that are on here, she has her arms and legs in place, but the shoot was different.

Ashley does need to stop taking her clothes off if she wants to be taken seriously as an actress. She needs to believe in herself and not expose herself for the benefit of a few who will not offer her the better acting roles. She could end up like Megan Fox in Jennifers Body – and Ashley is above that.
I’ve had a look at some of the pictures, and personally I don’t see what’s wrong with them. Everything that should be covered, is covered, and this is just one photo shoot.

And for those who say Ashley isn’t living up to her role model status…really? Your role model is a Hollywood celebrity? Kinda sad. Reminds me of Greenday’s Welcome to Idiot America.
Take a look at the “serious” actresses of today and how many of them have appeared nude in film or in print: Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Hale Berry, Diane Keaton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Holly Hunter, the list goes on. Many of these women were NOT taken seriously until they did their first nude role. No, not every actress does nudity but you might look at the Oscar award list and start making a checklist before you judge.
Being nude for a role is far different than being nude for flavored water in a SI magazine for men to do God knows what over.
How is this going to get her taken ‘seriously?’ And to say famous actresses are not taken seriously until they get nude is ludicrous!!!
Did Ashley ever say that she “wants to be taken seriously as an actress?” Come on, home girl’s got to pay her bills! I recall reading about her starting off as a model. This is simply a modeling job. And anyway, no offense to Ashley, but her acting isn’t very good. She has a LOOOOONNNNGGG way to go before she’s “taken seriously as an actress”. The first thing she needs to do is get through these Twilight movies.
AND BY THE WAY: Ashley isn’t endorsing products for little girls. She’s not a Disney star with a predominantly child demographic. She’s a 20something year old woman with a career in the entertainment industry.
Let’s try to help our children pick better role models. I mean, WE should do the parenting, NOT pop culture.
Always seems to me that she’ll take whatever job she can get, even if it’s scanky. If that’s what she feels she needs to do for her career, then I guess she’ll do it. But, in my opinion, it is scanky and thousands of other actors don’t need to bare all to get noticed. She has other options.

I don’t think you should bare it all to get noticed. Instead of doing this she should focus more on her ACTING career which she hasn’t done much ,since she keeps on wasting her time shooting for Maxim and these types of ads.
Like it is mentioned in the previous comments , her acting isn’t so great.
All of this is negative , but true. I still respect those who like her and look up to her.
