Access Hollywood: Nikki Reed And Taylor Lautner

Posted by Twilight_News - 11/11/09 at 11:11 am

Access Hollywood also has dug up an old Taylor video interview. This must be like your Mom pulling out bathtub photos: cute in a really slightly mortifying way.

Wow, Nikki is OBVIOUS team Jacob!
She says Edward is asking Bella to sacrifice her soul and life.

And that isn’t true! He isn’t. He isn’t!
    Grr.

And how cute little Taylor is! <3

    • Carrie says:

That was my reaction, too! Her description was very biased. Maybe she should go back & read the books again. Edward never wanted Bella to become a vampire. He wanted her just as she was, as well. He wasn’t asking her to sacrifice her soul. That was his main concern. It’s also untrue that choosing Jacob wouldn’t have cost Bella anything. He hadn’t imprinted yet. Plus, Jacob would have to stop himself from transforming into a wolf to have a normal life w/ Bella, and being a wolf was like his birth right or calling. The Volturi would eventually come looking for Bella & the wolf pack wouldn’t have been able to protect her.

      • Stasha says:

Your right on the fact about Edward not asking for Bella to give him her soul but your wrong Bella having to change if she picked Jacob. Jacob would have never imprinted if Bella decided to be with him because his imprint is Edward and Bella’s child. Everything about her life with Jacob would have been easy and she could stay who she is. It explains all of that in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

      • Stasha says:

Wow a lot of you are reading far to into what she was say. Fact is Bella had to change to be with Edward! She became a vampire that is a big change. Granted it was all her decision and Edward is what she wanted but she still hard to die to be with him is all she is saying. To some people that is kinda a big deal. Also when she said he was “cold” she was talking in terms of body temp. Which he is in fact cold. The entire cast says it is smarter for Bella to be with jacob because that is what Stephanies interprataion is in the books and in interviews. That is why the cast keep saying that it doesn’t matter what they say people are going to reading into what they are saying and turn it into something else. Which is exactly what some of you are doing. Relax! everyone has there own feelings about things and they are intitled to that. Sorry I can’t spell! lol Anyways! It was a great interview!

      • Pamela says:

I immediately thought the same thing too when I heard her say it but ahh, I won’t hold it against her. I think Nikki is a beautiful actress & I thought she held herself well when that guy came across like he was dissing Catherine.

Watching that first video of Taylor, I totally busted out laughing! On the other hand, he showed some awesome martial arts ability & talent. Who would have thought that 4 years later, he would become our beloved Jacob Black! I think all that training prepared him for this role. I cannot wait to see him in New Moon next week.

        • jemmac says:

I think that it’s interesting that nikki responded like this as although Rosalie would obviously support her brother the reason she doesn’t like Bella is because she’s giving up everything- her human life, her chance to have children etc so in that sense to her bella’s relationship with Jacob would be more ‘right’ because she can stay human and stay as she is…. so it’s kind of funny how her answer correlates with her character…

i gotta say that i really don’t like when all the interviewers etc always say that bella is attracted to edward because he’s the typical ‘bad boy’ and because he’s dangerous…. although he is dangerous so is Jacob (just look at sam and emily) so it’s not about that….

Jacob is who is good for Bella, he’s who would be perfect for her if edward didn’t exist but edward does and as kristen always says edward’s altered bella in such a way that she could never be happy without him….

it’s why i love the team jacob/team edward debate because bella could never end up with jacob and be happy she needs edward to survive…… it’s not a case of the good vs the bad choice as these tv interviews keep making out but about who she can’t live without and that’s edward…

and the one thing about nikki’s interview that i don’t like is when she says that he’s cold (figuratively)as it’s not the case of the relationship where the girl is chasing after this distant, unattainable, ‘bad’ boy who is just messing with her…. edward loves bella beyond anything and would do anything for her and that’s why we love the story….

anyway that’s my rant for the day :-)

          • birdy says:

smarter to be with jacob? why?

all edward ever does through the whole series is put bella first. he even tried to leave her for her own safety. he’s always putting her needs and her safety first.

on the other hand, jacob tries to be with bella just because he wants her. he didn’t stay away from bella for her safety when he was going through the change. he stayed away because he thought she would only think of him as a monster and was ashamed.

and yes, edward is physically cold but being too hot can kill a person and is way uncomfortable. remember when she woke up after being in the sleeping bag with jacob in the snow before the battle? it was unbearable. id rather be with edward who could keep me cool while getting a good workout between the sheets to keep me from being all gross, hot and sweaty. jacob would just make me run a temperature and id have to keep the air conditioner going.

yes, i am sick in the head. i have actually considered the logistics of sacking jacob and edward.

    • birdy says:

now we definitely know nikki has never read any of the books because edward has never asked bella to give up her soul for him.. IT’S THE OPPOSITE! he doesn’t want to change her. bella begs for it.

she’s said numerous times she’s team jacob going so far as saying thats the “smarter” choice in this interview. she almost sounds like she hates edward. i wonder if she simply doesnt like robert pattinson very much in real life.

nikki reed didnt even really have to audition. did i hear that right? she got the role through nepotism. how sad. she doesnt even look the part. how is it going to be believable in the movies when she has to explain to bella the reason she hated her so much is because she’s used to being the most beautiful?

and uhhh… ashley greene is the prettiest cast member by far.

  • Sia says:

Nikki is beautiful so is Ashley but I HONESTLY THINK KRISTEN’S the most gorgeous and that’s just me.

  • Maya says:

OMG Taylor, CUTEST thing EVER!!! So smart at such a young age, so dedicated:D
And what an athlete!!! That was great, lil babyboy :D

  • Emily O. says:

Younger Taylor is adorable. “Can’t cut out school. Darn!” lol.

  • sabine says:

Nikki is sooo sweet!! And taylor scares the hell out of me with all those moves and everything…

  • Tiffany says:

He was an incredible little boy. Very intelligent and charismatic. I don’t know a lot of 13-year-old boys with his mature perspective.

And he was very gifted in martial arts!

  • Marianne says:

HHMMM, sort of sounds like there are some sour grapes there with Nikki for some reason.
I agree Edward is NOT making Bella sacrifice everything, it’s Bella that pushes for that from the beginning. She has that wrong!

    • Carrie says:

Every time an interviewer asks her that question and she says she’s on Team Jacob, she’s very unapologetic about it. It does sound a little like sour grapes.

      • pauleta says:

        A sour grappe for what?
They ‘re a lot of people who think tha same as she does. I ‘m team switzeland. But i see exactly what she meant. So fans can stop with the stupid fake love triangle Kris, Rob, Nikki to explain everynikki’s opinion that differs from your.
All she said was that to be edward, bella has to sacrifice a part of her, her soul. If you really think about it edward and bella’re in a unhealthy relationship. He owns her.He decides a lot of thing for her. That’s just so not healthy to be that dependant of your boyfriend. I will like people to see this. Is really not a flatering to show to the young girl who loves thias book.
Sure you can argue that edward do all this staff to protect bella, but is just not ok the way stephanie meyer make this bella so weak that her old world is edward. That’s just so cliche.Like women are nothing without men.

  • switzgal says:

This is so ironic that Nikki is Team Jacob and in the books Rosalie hates Jacob!
    LOL!
GO TEAM JACOB!!! More and more will love Jacob after New Moon. Even they don’t switch teams, at least the fans that hated Jacob will learn to love him, maybe not for Bella but at least love the character.

  • Joanna says:

Oh gosh Taylor was cute little boy. “Cant cut out school,” snap snap snap,”darn..!!!” funny :D
He also sounded really mature for his age!

Yeah im so sure people are gonna start to love Jacob’s character more!! Hope so, at least!!!

  • Oretha says:

Its lovely seeing Nikki. Great interview. Smart young woman

  • malicious says:

Um.. Has she even read the books? She says that Edward is asking Bella to sacrifice her soul and life to be with him but that is so not true. He doesn’t want her to change, she’s the one who does. And she makes it seem like Edward is a complete douche and Jacob is this perfect guy. And saying that people who are Team Jacob is smarter than those who are Team Edward is very low.. Even if it was just a joke!

  • Carrie says:

It was kind of rude for that guy to just come out and say that she’s the best-looking actress. That’s a matter of opinion and what’s the point of making that declaration, anyway?

  • Karen says:

Okay wow on Jacob as a thirteen year old. Oh my gosh. It’s obvious he’s always been a hard working and dedicated person. What a great actor to have working on a project…someone who puts everything he has into it. What confidence he has as well!!! So impressive!!!!

I thought Nikki was darling in her interview and in light of the odd questions the interviewer posed I thought she did really well. Careful about judging her responses though, especially with regards to what Edward is asking Bella to do. Let’s not turn this into a bashing Nikki Reed’s interpretation of what a life with Edward would be. Sure Edward’s not asking Bella to do that, but I think her point was that a life with Edward would be limiting in some ways. Which is true. Great interviews.

    • malaz says:

Not necessarily. Life with Edward is not limiting at all. After breaking dawn, how could you or anyone else even attempt to say that? Not only did Bella get a child, the most beautiful, most intelligent, kind and sweet child but she got a life with such happiness most in this world don’t attain in such a small time frame. Even if she never conceived Renesmee, TO Bella life with Edward basically for her, at least, completes her life. JUST being with Edward completes her life. She die happily–if she ever does.
      ____

I really liked Nikki. Always have. From the beginning. Now I am not so sure about her. i am sure she’s very nice and down to earth. But she has a very un-factual, very biased view. And it infuriates me.

I don’t care if she’s on Team jacob–but why does she have to declare that in a way that puts down Team Edward-ers.

p.s. Edward is a MUCH more considerate, sweeter, kinder, romantic, nicer, guy than jacob. Jacob is good and kind but not to Edward’s degree which is fine, really. And Edward is SO not “cold” by any means. He treats Bella like she is his entire world. Oh wait, she is. And he wouldn’t dare to make her do or sacrifice something she doesn’t want to do. I mean, what the hell–isn’t that WHY he left in new moon. Nikki Reed is promoting new moon, and yet, ironically enough she has the entire story wrong. She HAS Edward wrong. Ridiculous.

      • Karen says:

Huh…how can I imply that it would be limiting? Well, I guess it depends on what we each define it. You’re seeing what she has now, and albeit wonderful… I’m referring to the ultimate limits on her choices from now on; such as not being able to have more children, and having to fight the urge to kill people (drink their blood) at every turn. And honestly, if it wasn’t limiting in some way then why was Edward fighting so hard to keep her human, huh? Being with someone like Edward obviously meant sacrifices, which although she was willing to accept…LIMITED her future choices. And I was referring to Nikki’s comment on her CURRENT limitations she’s facing in regards to New Moon. I wasn’t even talking about Breaking Dawn with regards to limitations, just as Nikki wasn’t talking about Breaing Dawn. She was being interviewed about the point in Bella’s life up to New Moon.

        • Emma says:

I agree with your comments, Karen. Nikki was just giving her opinion.

        • birdy says:

no, nikki said edward wants bella to sacrifice her soul. there is no other way to interpret that. nikki has not read the books.

but as far as what one considers limiting or sacrificing, every one is different. bella sees mortal life as limiting and has nightmares about being an old woman next to edward. she’s also sad that he would live on and can’t be with him.

the same would happen if she was with jacob. the werewolves lives are longer than regular humans so he would stay younger while she turned hold and gray. he could go on to have more wives after she died. she would have felt this way with both jacob and edward.. at least with edward,, there was something that could be done about it.

      • pauleta says:

This is just the kind of andswer that morries me about this book.
After breaking dawn, Bella become a housewife at 19 and a mother. Wouaouh!!!! That is such an accomplishment in a life. I’m sorry if i come across rude, i’m really not trying to be. But i was so mad with breaking dawn, bella just drop school, everything to be a wife. That’s just so not inspiring for this generation of young girl. Kristen can try as hard as she can to sell me that bella is a proactive women event she doesn’t believe what she’s saying. She’s just to affraid to be trown under a bus by fan girls.

Also saying that you used to love someone, but that you’re rethinking your oponion of her because she doesn’t agree with you is just i don’t know, what about retarded (maybe this is mean let say judgemental, intolerent these’re better).
You know she is not supposed to share your belief.

Is it’s ironical that people who have really study the book with all the theme developped in the book always say that the relationship between edward and bella is unhealthy. I’m for one can’t stand bella and edward in the book. I’m glad that kristen made her strong in the movie and that rob bring so more sensitivity to him because in the book he’s just possessive, controlling.

  • Jenna says:

first of all, i do not like what nikki said about edward AT ALL.

secondly, the video of taylor doing karate and screaming at the top of his lungs KILLED me. obsessed.

  • billie says:

dang! so talented at such a young age. and such poise! destined for greatness!!

  • kehacakes says:

I think Taylor is just a cool person. He has such a great personality and obviously always has. And he’s always been really good at interviews…He is so well spoken.

Nikki really disappointed me. I like her, but I think she needs to brush up on her books. She has the whole Edward and Bella thing all wrong. It makes me wonder what team she’d be on if she had it right.lol

  • Sweetdevil says:

    Yeah well..
Nikki sure said the wrong thing about Edward wanting Bella to sacrifice her soul and everything, but I do like her, even though I’m team Edward all the way.
Maybe life with him would be limited, but we are talking about Bella here, and for Bella life without Edward just wouldn’t be complete. Team Edward is about who you want for Bella, not who you want for yourself, right ? And Edward is right for Bella.

Lil Taylor was soo cute btw :D and he was really really good in his martial arts thing wow, that was amazing :D The interview must be humiliating for him to watch, but it was funny :D

    • birdy says:

i know.. it’s obvious she hasn’t read the books so how is it that she’s so strongly on team jacob? i don’t think the likes robert pattinson and she’s projecting that on edward’s character.

  • Mary Alice Cullen says:

    Adorable little Taylor super cute.

  • Gwindalyn says:

Little Tay is so adorable! But so sholwy sometimes, ya know? Like, if you saw the “Jacob Black” New Moon trailer, you would know. He is all like,”He’s alot bigger, he’s thirty punds bigger.” *stud grin* it is so funny to me!

    • Artemis says:

yes!! i so saw that too……i don’t want to say that he’s up himself, since it is true, all his accomplishments, but yeah he’s a bit showy….i’ve been scrolling down the comments, i think you’re the first one to actually comment on this…not that I don’t like Taylor, he’s does have a great personality and he’s really mature, i love him he’s amazing, but it doens’t hurt to be humble too….

      • birdy says:

without taylor, twilight wouldn’t have such a great mouth-piece cause robert and kristen haven’t really been up to the challenge as they are too camera shy. im grateful he’s been doing this longer than the two of them and is more comfortable with the cameras. while robert and kristen trip over themselves in interviews, taylor is thoughtful and articulate. he’s been the one willing to give all the answers during interviews that all of us fans craved.

i don’t think it’s about his humility at all. anyone seems conceited next to rpatz and kstew, for sure. i like taylor but im still team edward.

  • Alyssa says:

I think it’s oddly fitting that Nikki is “Team Jacob,” because I think that deep down, so was Rosalie. I think that above all else, Rosalie just wanted Bella to be HUMAN. So she was bitter that Jacob wasn’t able to ‘win’ Bella in the end and keep her human.

  • lalli says:

Alyssa has a good point. i never thought of it that way…..

  • Visitor says:

I find it funny (and by funny I mean ironic) that almost the entire cast seems to have a negative view of Edward and Bella’s relationship. Everyone from Taylor to Kristen to Ashley to Nikki to Rob! I’ve yet to hear any of them make a positive comment about the Bella/Edward pairing. Which would be fine except that the Edward/Bella pairing is kind of the reason most fans (not all) fell in love with the series in the first place. Of course, they are all entitled to their own opinions and if nothing else their personal opinions help to add an extra area of interest to the roles that they play. Since in most instances, their personal preferences seem to run contrary to what their character is supposed to actually think and feel. So far the only truly pro-Edward/Bella person in the cast is Edi Gathegi. Just think, Laurent is a romantic! If that isn’t ironic I don’t know what is. LOL. And the actors who do seem to be more pro-‘the story’ and pro-Edward/Bella are all actors who have nothing to do with the movies themselves. They are all actors who fell in love with the books just like the rest of us and so therefore seem to have a shared opinion with most of the everyday fans. I’m not sure if any of this means anything, but it is interesting.

  • safina says:

Taylor was so adorable! And he’s so good at martial arts.

  • switzgal says:

Taylor was such a cute kid!! I swear when I was that young, I was too shy to even talk to strangers and could never do an interview like that.
Taylor was made to be in front of the camera. What a ham!

  • Jenn says:

I love how he keeps saying “when I was young” and he’s just a little kid! Hilarious.

  • Franci says:

MY – GOODNESS – GRACIOUS! These 2 videos of Taylor almost makes me want to switch sides to TEAM JACOB….
    (naaaa JK, aint happenin’)
I simply LOVE him ! ! He’s adorable then and he’s adorable NOW. He has a very long career and a good life ahead of him on the big screen!
    :)

    • chmb says:

It is obvious that Nikki Reed hasn’t read any of the books let alone Midnight Sun. The only think Edward asks of Bella is to remain human. She is the one who chooses and wants to become a vampire. Very disappointing of Nikki. Also, Edward is just as sweet as Jacob.
