The Muse video of Uprising is now out. The song debuted the other day on the VMAs. In an interview lead singer Matthew Bellamy said, “I think I’m having a phone call with the director(Chris Weitz) tomorrow. He wants to use a song off the new album, so we’re going to talk about that. That could be cool.”
Now we don’t know if Uprising is the song that they were going to discuss, but what do you think about it? Is it more of a New Moon or an Eclipse song?
Gosh, I love this song so much! It’s awesome. I would love it on both of the soundtracks. But I feel that it’s a bit more of an Eclipse song. But it would be perfect for the New Moon soundtrack too! As long as there is a Muse song on the soundtrack I will be pleased, haha.
but you know, what did supermassive black hole have to do with baseball? i don’t think it’s necessarily the content of the song but the feeling and mood of it that matters.
i’d like to see 3 songs chosen from muse to include in each of the remaining movies. muse was the muse for stephenie meyer after all. it needs to be there.

Did you notice the Eric said ” I don’t know if it’s worth it anymore.” in Twilight when they’re at La Push in Twilight(movie). That’s a line from “Starlight”

After hearing the lyrics to it, I think it is more of an Eclipse song:

I totally agree. This is definitely the perfect song for Breaking Dawn and the “fight” against the Volturi. I love Muse! They should definitely be on every soundtrack!

listening to the song I was like “new moon!!… no wait eclipse!!” and then I heard those lines and I went “oh it’s totally BREAKING DAWN”
Actually, the first time I heard it I thought of Breaking Dawn. At the end of the book, the face off w/ the Volturi and Garrett’s speech.
That’s totally what I thought too! Like a final battle scene, I could totally see it in Breaking Dawn!

I also thought of the part where Bella discovers just how far she can push her shield out. When that chorus is going, I see her standing there with this bad ass look on her face and this wave just shooting out from her and protecting all the people.
I’m not a music expert, but it did remind me of the newborn army, all crazy and definately not regimented (sorry David Slade, they aren’t). I tried to envision it in New Moon (maybe for the wolf pack???) and it was hard to imagine it , so my vote goes to Eclipse for what its worth.

My first thought was: Breaking Dawn! The song reminds me very much of the big fight against the Volturi, but i don’t think it would fit in New Moon or Eclispe.
Love this song! All I can imagine when listening to this is the training scene with the Cullens in the field! Deff an Eclispe song, but like many have said I could see Breaking Dawn as well.
Totally agree! As soon as I heard it I started picturing the Cullens training at night with the werewolves looking on. But, if we’re being picky about the lyrics, I would have to say it suits Breaking Dawn more. Especially the lines “They will not control us. We will be victorious”.

I too think this song would work better with Breaking Dawn in the scene between the Cullens and their friends vs. the Volturi. It could work in Eclipse but I think the song would fit better with Breaking Dawn.

Angela, I completely agree, Chris Weitz needs to use either “I Belong To You” or “Undisclosed Desires” in New Moon. As soon as I listened to them, I KNEW they both were perfect songs. Man, I hope either of them are on the soundtrack…
Right now, I Belong to You is my favorite song off The Resistance, but I can’t imagine it in New Moon. I can’t really see Undisclosed desires in New Moon either. (I love that song too!) I could imagine Uprising in Eclipse during some intense newborn part (fight scene or training).
I think Exogenesis Symphony Part 1 would work for some intense Volturi/slow motion part in New Moon
My first thought was also Breaking Dawn, as it would fit the idea of a possible revolution brewing. Although since the fight never happens in BD, the tone of the music would fit well in Eclipse with an actual battle.
My other thoughts on the video was noticing the truck the band was riding in (colorless, I know, but a familiar model) and the vampire teddy bears at the end. Gave me and my kids a laugh.

As for Uprising, I think it’s more like Eclipse.
Hopefully Muse will be on all four soundtracks. David Slade directed some music videos for them (Bliss, New Born, Feeling Good, Hyper Music). So he’s probably going to have them in Eclipse.

I can totally see why Stephenie Meyer used Muse and a few other bands for inspiriation. They are awesome…I think you could take all of Muse’s albums and make soundtracks for every book like…simply amazing.

I love Uprising, but don’t think it’s fit for New Moon, maybe Eclipse. I love the entire new Muse albuum, actually! I think Resisitance would be perfect for New Moon!
I think it actually can fit for New Moon when Bella goes to save Edward and they are facing the Volterri! when they are using the mind control and stuff. I put it on my playlist for that part already. It is a cool song. In all honesty it can fit in any of the books in my mind. Resistance is great too for New Moon.

I don’t think this song is on the soundtrack. It’s just the new single from Muse, and Chris wants to use some song of theirs. If they did use this one, I can see the instrumental parts being Bella doing dangerous things to see Edward. It sounds just like an adrenaline rush. However I don’t think the lyrics fit New Moon or Eclipse, but Breaking Dawn.
I love the song and while I have to agree that this one may be more sutied for Eclipse I just hope that they are on all the soundtracks. I have fallen in love with their music so I just want them on the soundtrack.

This song is awesome! I think it’s more of an Eclipse song though, because in my opinion the song kinda goes with like the new borns and Victoria reeking havoc and taking control of things or maybe the Volturi.. IDK, but it doesn’t sound like New Moon to me…

lovin’ the Muse! Glad to have a new album! If they do use Uprising, then Im thinking better for Eclipse. A lot of people have said during the battle with the newborn, and I agree. Im also thinking maybe when Jasper is training all of them? I can see it playing when they are all trying to ‘attack’ Jasper, and getting their butts beat.
That’s definitely a BD song… In the scene with the Volturi especially. For me the most perfect Muse song from the new album for NM is “I Belong to You”. It would be wonderful for the after-Volterra part. “I travelled half the world to say… I belong to you…”. Isn’t it what they’ve actually done??
I love LOVE LOVE their new album, but i don’t think uprising is right for new moon…… The 2nd song on the album, “Resistance” has more of a new moon feel to it, that would be cool to have that on there!

I think that Undisclosed Desires would be PERFECT for New Moon. I agree with Uprising for Eclipse, with the battle scene at the end of the movie. I’d LOVE to hear Newborn in Breaking Dawn…just sayin.
I am so glad Muse is getting their due respect in the US now. Been a fan for a long while now and I can’t wait to see them open for U2. When they opened for MCR, I left after they performed. Didn’t care to see MCR, as far as I was concerned they were the main attraction!

i ABSOLUTELY hated the host. that has got to be one of the worst books i have ever read. i seriously could just skip a few chapters and would have lost pretty much nothing in the story line.

well I wouldn’t say it should go with New Moon or Eclipse, its definetly a Breaking Dawn. I’ve thought that ever since I first heard it, which was a couple months ago on a local Radio station. so its been one of my favorite songs for a while now.
I think Uprising is more fitting for Eclipse. As for New Moon, I think Guiding Light [from Edward's perspective] would work and/or Exogenesis: Symphony Part 3(Redemption)for end credits would be perfect.

Personally I don’t really see this song working in the Twilight Saga at all… it’s far too political. But I LOVE Muse. I’ve been a fan of their work for a very long time and they have lots of other songs that will work for New Moon and Eclipse and I can’t wait to see what ends up on the soundtracks!!
I don’t think Uprising should belong on any of the Twilight Saga movies. However, I think “Undisclosed Desires” works for Jake in New Moon or Eclipse. Also “Guiding Light” for Edward’s POV after Volterra (this fits the “shooting star” speech that he gives in the book). “I Belong To You” is too light and the sound too weird to fit anywhere (despite the lyrics).
More than anything though, I can totally hear “Exogenesis: Part 3 (Redemption)” playing in the background in the scene where Bella wakes up in her room and thinks she’s still dreaming/Edward’s reconciliation with her.
I thought Breaking Dawn at first 4 the almost fight scene, but if the debate ‘s between New Moon and Eclipse. I pick Eclipse because the lyrics go with it. But either way I hope Muse will be in the soundtrack I love this band !!!!!!

with that said, if there isn’t a Muse song on the soundtrack, i’m going to be very irritated. there are a million fabulous songs to choose from. there should be at least one on each of the soundtracks. i think Stephenie should make that a rule ^_^
i’d suggest something in the lines of Apocalypse Please for New Moon. maybe even Time Is Running Out, or Absolution. I really could list like a billion more….

This song wouldn’t work at all for any of the Twilight series. It’s about a political uprising, not true love between and vampire and a human or whatever. Even the “battle” scenes wouldn’t fit with this, since there’s really no tension about uprising. No themes in common whatsoever.

A lot of Muse’s songs fit for the books, but not the movies. Matt’s lyrics fit a bunch of things in the Twilight saga, but the sound and doesn’t. I love Muse and the Twilight series to pieces (if it were up to me all of the soundtracks would be all Muse songs) but some of the songs just wouldn’t work for the movies even if the lyrics were perfect.
