Metro Canada continues their New Moon series of interviews. Today’s interview is with Chris Weitz.
“Q. How does it feel to take over directorial duties of such a successful franchise?
A. On the one hand, it’s exciting to take over a successful franchise. On the other, it’s daunting. There are so many fans who have high expectations for this film, but it’s made easy by the fact that I inherited this amazing cast who are certainly very talented. So half of the time, I’m just overjoyed to be a part of this and the other half, I’m nervous that I’m going to be hunted down and killed by a pack of 14-year-old teenage girls in about a year’s time!”

Anyway.. Chris is great! I loved the trailer and he seems like a genuinly nice person:D

This is a really great interview. They asked all the right questions. I can’t wait until tomorrow for the Kristen Stewart interview.
I absolutely loved this interview. It gave us a great deal to ponder, and I think Chris is doing an amazing job. He’s not only looking at the surface of things, but at all the little details that make up New Moon. I like how they mentioned the whole Stephen King ordeal. I can’t wait to see Kristen’s interview.
I really like what CW said about Stephen King. For me Stephen King writes a whole bunch of jabbish. Stephanie Meyer is not the greatest writer in the world but her stories resonates with me. I’m sure that Stephen King has his fan base but don’t go offend the others, please?
hear, hear =) lets all play nice. Some people like your work, some people like Stephenie’s work, some like both. We all just need to be respectful of each other.
How long has it been known that Alexander Desplats would be doing the music? Does this mean that Carter Burwell will no longer be doing it?
I have no issues with Alexander Desplats, since I have only seen one movie he has done the music to, and lets just say I refuse to judge his musical abilities on The Golden Compass. So I’ll either have to watch another movie he’s done the music for, or hope for the best
Chris sounds very insightful and intelligent, but he also seems to have a sense of fun. He seems like a great guy. I’m sure he’s done a marvelous job. I can see why the cast really likes him.
I have to admit that I was worried about how well Chris would do with New Moon. After reading this though I believe that he will do just fine. I like the fact that he talks to Stephanie about things. If anyone would know she would. I am more excited (if that is possible) to see the movie.
