Brad Meltzer:Twilight Fan & Proud

Brad Meltzer was on a new segment on NPR called My Guilty Pleasure, and guess what his guilty pleasure is.

“…let me say to you as a meat-eating, Entourage-watching, sports-loving (OK, I really don’t love sports, or actually understand sports) — heterosexual man who can’t sit through a single show on Lifetime television, let me loudly proclaim: I, Brad Meltzer, love the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.

Now this is the part where I’m supposed to make an intellectual disclaimer like: I don’t really love it, but I appreciate it for what it is.

But let me be clear here. I love it. I love Twilight. I love Bella, and I love Edward.”

You can read of listen to Brad on the NPR site.

    LoL. Twi-guy!

  2. Margie says:

My husband and I were just saying how nice it is when people aren’t afraid to like something and don’t care what others think. This is great and funny!

  3. sue says:

    welcome to the club

  4. ciera says:

:D I love when men like him can come out and admit their addiction to twilight like some many others.

Though, the negative comments given to him on his site are unnecessary. :(

  5. KAREN says:

I am in awe, takes a man’s man to admit it! I am seeing more and more men who are reading series.

  6. Rachel says:

My 17 year old nephew who is too cool to even speak to me loves Twilight. He was hounding my sister to finish reading Breaking Dawn so he would read it.

  7. AlbertaJenn says:

This is very cool. You have no idea how many times I talk to someone who says they won’t read Twilight because it’s so popular. I’m like, “huh?” Wouldn’t that be an endorsement, not a deterent? *confused*

    • karen says:

Aberta Jean, I agree with you yet again, My own daughter says she’ll not ever go crazy because everyone else is. That she doesn’t do the popular thing…I just don’t understand, these books stand on their own. I don’t care if someone likes something or not as long as I do…its beyond me what they are thinking. This guy is awesome.

  8. Emily O. says:

I bought my boyfriend the first book to read, and he liked it better than he thought he would. After that, we decided to read the others together — so now I’m in the processing of reading them aloud to him (since I’ve already read them multiple times). We just finished Eclipse. He is Team Jacob though, which I’m not sure I can approve of.

  9. Bella Jane says:

Haha my ex boyfriend IMed me last night and started talking about Twilight. He read it after I went on and on about it and send him an MP3 of Bella’s Lullaby. He didnt like the movie, but he really liked the books. I was so proud lol

    Love Twi-guys

  10. water lily says:

I’ve always wondered what a “real guy” would think of them. My hubby wont touch them w/ a 10′ pole. Glad guys can love ‘em as much as girls do!

  11. Keira says:

He’s an amazing orator. Great dialogue, I was laughing my head off. I challenge men to read Twilight so I’m not the only one there… priceless.

  12. FreakinLoon says:

That’s just very cool. As a thanks, I’m ordering one of his books.

  13. TY says:

I am a 26 yr old straight, outdoorsy type, male. i read the series and loved it. i have definately caught some flack over it, but hey who cares. for all the twi-guys out there stand strong. lol.

    • kara says:

Ty, so many men I know are reading these bks, a doctor’s book club @ a hospital in Jackson, Tn started reading it when they saw all their patients reading them. They read them as a group and he said it was fustrating because you had to wait for everyone to finish one until you could start the next, because they have discussion afterward. Lots of discussion on these. He said its been the best read for all of them hands down. They love these books.

  14. akire says:

So glad you guys linked to this! I heard it on my way home from work yesterday & thought this guy was great. The part where he said they “got a babysitter” so he could go see the Twilight movie was my fave. Love it!

  15. Astaire says:

I’m a guy that loves Twilight. . .I put up with my friends bashings all the time about me loving it. . I’m sorry I don’t see anything wrong with liking a good story.

I also possess a blog and am actually searching to alter close to the theme, even so am frightened to demise to mess with it for concern from the investigation engines punishing me. I’m quite new to all of this …so i’m just not beneficial precisely how to try to to it all yet. I am going to just keep operating on it 1 working day at a time.”
