THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON
Los Angeles, CA April 15, 2009 – Principal photography has begun on Summit Entertainment’s THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, it was announced today by Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production…NEW MOON is filming on locations in Vancouver, BC and Tuscany, Italy.

- Daniel Cudmore as Felix,
- Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus,
- Dakota Fanning plays Jane
- Cameron Bright is Alec

- Graham Greene appears as Harry Clearwater

- Alex Meraz as Paul
- Chaske Spencer as Sam Uley
- Tyson Houseman as Quil Ateara
- Bronson Pelletier as Jared
- Kiowa Gordon as Embry Call
In NEW MOON, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love Edward (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and she finds her loyalties tested.
Jamie Campbell Bower was last seen in Tim Burton’s “Sweeney Todd” and is the lead singer of the band The Darling Buds.
Daniel Cudmore played Colossus in the “X-Men” films, “X2” and “X-Men: The Last Stand.”
Dakota Fanning was last seen in Summit Entertainment’s sci-fi thriller “Push” and provided the lead voice in the animated feature “Coraline.”
Graham Greene earned an Academy Award nomination for his work in “Dances With Wolves,” and has appeared in such films as “The Green Mile,” “Die Hard: With A Vengeance” and “Transamerica.”
Chrisopher Heyerdahl has appeared in such films as “The Chronicles of Riddick,” “Catwoman” and “Blade: Trinity.”
Tinsel Korey has worked on numerous films and television shows, from “Into The West” to “The Lookout,” opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt. She is also a singer/songwriter.
Vancouver-born Noot Seer began modeling at age 13 and has lived in New York, Barbados, Guyana and New Zealand. She was a champion horseback rider prior to her modeling career. She made her film debut in the comedy “Head Over Heels,” starring Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Monica Potter.
Michael Sheen last starred opposite Frank Langella in Ron Howard’s film “Frost/Nixon,” and played Britain’s Prime Minister Tony Blair to Helen Mirren’s Queen Elizabeth in “The Queen.” The award-winning actor was recently seen in “Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.”
Well heres what happened i called his number but he didnt pick( filiming new moon of course) up after a few rings and when i heard his voicemail message it was actually him i was surprised and nervous at the same time and i was to scared to leave a messasge. He leaves his number to the public for a reason. To connect with his fans.

Oooohhh so excited now! Well I guess that is the difference between having a “star” director and um not. I’m pretty certain Graham Greene and Martin Sheen probably wouldn’t have been so eager to work with CH but who knows.

Not convinced with Michael Sheen as Aro yet, and I love Cameron Bright as Alec. Charlie Bewley, though basically unknown, seems like he’ll do a good job of pulling off Demetri.

Finally!!! The full cast list! Im not sure about Jamie Bower as Caius but I think it will turn out good. Im loving the rest of the cast though and I cant wait!!! Good Luck

This seems like a great cast. And as much as I loved the first movie, I think this will be sooooo much better! And that I think can only be because of a new director……
I love the cast! They all seem great choices! 7 months till New Moon is released in theaters and I’m so glad that at the moment we here in Finland have that same date, in Twilight we had to wait till January.

Hm. This is going to take a while to absorb (my excitement would’ve made Alice proud…), but for now, I am generally pleased with who they have chosen for the cast.
And now, the real fun begins, for the filming will commence with the full cast.

Unlike the great majority of you, New Moon is my favorite book. I hope these actors have good chemistry together.

I think New Moon is gonna turn out just fine. All my worries are in the backseat now.
The nerd in me squealed at this. The even BIGGER nerd in me FREAKED THE HECK OUT when I saw that two of the actors had worked in the X-Men franchise. YAY LEECH AND COLOSSUS!
GRAHAM GREENE?! I’m by far most excited about this decision =D I adore him. He has such a fantastic resume and he was amazing in Dances With Wolves.
and Cameron Bright is such a good decision as well. He was excellent in Running Scared.
This just gave me more reason to love Chris as the director. It seemed like he actually worked in conjunction with the casting director this time.
A job well done I’d say but note Summit – PLEASE dye Dakota’s hair really dark because that is her hair in the book. I’ve heard that she will be blonde. DARK! Please!
The only one i don’t really like is Christopher Heyerdahl but thats because i hated him in supernatural. i hope he does a better job in new moon.

All I can say is… WIN.
I think Chris Weitz has really outdone himself on this one! I’ll go out on a limb here and say what I’ve been saying to my friends all along… I think the New Moon movie will be even better than Twilight. And the casting of the Quileutes and the Volturi has a lot to do with that.
Of course, we have yet to see how the actors will perform in their roles (not to mention how they’ll look in costume). But just on the basis of who’s playing who, it’s looking like we’ll have a great movie to look forward to in November. I can’t wait!
Also… can I just say, thank goodness they chose Cameron Bright as Alec! He’s got the perfect look for the role. I was starting to worry that they would cast Alec too old, and as a diehard Alec fan, that would have been depressing to me.
Alec isn’t a child, of course, but physically, he’s still VERY young for a vampire, probably 13-15 or so. Most importantly, he has to have an extremely youthful and childlike face, as per Stephenie Meyer’s descriptions of him. So visually speaking, Cameron Bright is perfect. I can’t wait to see him acting all creepy alongside Dakota Fanning! The scenes in Volterra are going to be AMAZING.
Cameron and Dakota are going to rock New Moon.
I can’t wait for the official press photos to come out with them all in makeup and costume.
I approve. I was thrown off at first with the Jane and Caius casting, but the rest looks really good and I am excited. Go Volturi! They are going to be some evil a$$ vampires!

Love that the boy who played the kid with the Cure in XMen is going to be Alec. There are some cool parallels between those characters. He takes away your senses… just me? Anyway, nice to know the final cast list!!
What I meant by that was the similarity between Alec’s power of taking away your sense, to the mutant power of taking away your powers.

OMG I’m so excited they finally released this. I’m like, a HUGE fan of the Volturi. Although I’m not quite sure about everyone, I’ll decide as soon as I see them in costume, then I’ll cry or scream. Although when I saw this, I sort of screames. My mother thought I was dying or something.
to all of you who were saying they look to young to play the Volturi, remember, the Volturi are all young age wise, they just appear older because of their infinite wisdom.
I think the guy cast as Alec is a great choice! hes a wonderful actor, and the rest well.. I love them all! I actually think they will do a really good job.

Wow! I’m thrilled they have Graham Greene!! I was worried about the casting for Marcus, and I confess I don’t know who Christopher Heyerdahl is, but I think his looks are right for the part. Has anyone else noticed that at least half of the Volturi cast members are Canadians? Just a coincidence?

I doubt Gianna will be in this. If she’s not, who cares? What depth did she add to the plot that would necessitate hiring and paying another actor for a scene that would barely last for more than a minute?
