This is a special music feature Sunday edition and I bring you a selection of songs that represent Jacob’s journey in New Moon. These are the songs that always make me think of Jacob. The songs vary in genre and cover very specific aspects of Jacob’s story. There will be a poll at the end so that you all can give your opinion and there is also a discussion thread so you can list your favorite Jacob songs. If there are a lot of different songs I may consider having a second poll with different songs. So here is the list. Oh and before everyone asks over the next several weeks I will be doing songs for Bella and Edward as well as many other music related polls.

It’s Not Over by Daughtry - This is my ultimate Jacob New Moon song. The first time I heard this song I thought I Jacob at the end of New Moon standing by the tree looking at Bella back with Edward. It was so clear that Jacob wasn’t just going to give up and this song just speaks to that scene so clearly for me.

I think the song Vermillion Part 2. by slipknot represents jacobs feelings towards bella, but he knows bella loves edward.

I don’t know if anyone has ever heard of Ludo, but they have an awesome ‘werewolf’ song called Air-Conditioned Love.” The band is indescribable, very fun songs (there’s even the perfect Edward vampire song called “The Horror of Our Love”

“Never Let You Down” by the Verve Pipe. It’s on the NM playlist on Stephenie’s site. Jacob thinks Edward has let her down, and he tries (always) to let her know that without a doubt, she can count on him. He wants her to know that HE would NEVER leave her.
Also, “The Sharpest Lives” by My Chemical Romance. Anything by them, really, fits him! I was SO bummed when they said they weren’t contributing to the soundtrack

the Fray’s “Say When” would be a perfect Jacob and Bella song, even though I’m totally a Team Edward gal. It’s so haunting and beautiful and tough all at the same time. a MUST hear.
Oh I totally agree on “Say When” by the Fray. Not only is it a beautiful (probably my favorite song off thier new album) it does really go well with Jacob and Bella. Especially the first verse and the chorus.

Wow! How to choose, good thing I’m not involved with the musical selection piece. I would like to see someone relativly unknown or new blast out also though, I really enjoyed Poisen Soul by the Adams Watts band linked through Stephine Meyers book babe event they get my vote also!
It would kind of be fitting for Bella somehow when she’s tourtured by her Zombie like state, or Even Edwards theme when he possibly gets the call from Rosalie that Bella is dead! (Not that this will or won’t be in the movie who knows its Steph. M., Summit, Chris W., and one great screen writer Mellissa R. and I can hope for another chance to see Edward) Anyways they could choose to cut to his current state of mind through the added text/dialog S. Meyers gave of what the conversation Rosalie and Edward had. It opened my eyes wider to Edward’s emotions at that momment and his tortured soul. Feeling the depth of the pain loosing the only one you loved the one who’s worth everything is EVERYTHING, including existance. Edward would absolutly having one foot in Hell life without Bella and One N Heaven Life with Bella (lyrics of song), Maybe the song could be used when she calls and races to him while the clock tower chimes! It was amazing watching people here ABQ take to That Orange County bands music, people love to be fed and what ever it is were going to flock to it as long as it’s good, How many times have I (you) played the Twilight Sound Track through and through on CD, MP3 and Record even the score helps get me to sleep at night.
What a great collaboration in the artist and the work of Carter & Alexandra and there teams. I’m getting goose bumps it’s so exciting It’s like the birthday presents you (I) didn’t get to razorblade open to reveal gift contents before the big day then resealing so that noone’s the wiser. You know the ones kept from your (my) sneeky grasp!
I think the perfect Jacob song is “Beneath the Skin” by Collide, it’s not only perfect for werewolves, but his emotions in New Moon, as well.

And I think the perfect Bella/Jacob song (Team Jacob all the way!) is “Never Let Me Down Again” by Depeche Mode. The song showcases how they are best friends, and how much fun they have together, and also that their friendship goes deeper, into romance, and how both Bella and Jacob let each other down, and they never want to do that again.

I think the song that suits Jacob most from the Lex playlist is “Animal I Have Become” by Three Days Grace.And there’s also “It’s Not Over” by Daughtry.That one breaks my heart when I think how Jake must’ve felt.
UMMMM wow….I can’t believe no one has gotten this one yet!!! Ok, so not many typical Twilighters probably listen to METALLICA, but oh man have I got a song for you. It’s called OF WOLF AND MAN, it’s by the metal band Metallica, and it is hands down the best song for Jacob out there. The lyrics absolutely fit perfectly, and the band along with their style just screams Jacob to me, especially with the pent up anger and tendency to be a “tough guy” and seems dangerous to humans apart from Bella. Jacob’s bitterness about becoming a werewolf and how it temporarily seperates him from Bella are present in the lyrics, along with his sense of duty he still feels to protect her no matter what, even if it’s hurting him(emotionally or physically). The plural pack usage is present(“we” instead of “I”), there is a reference to the taking of the fallen lamb, any twilighter can interpret this as a fallen Bella after Edward leaves, every part of the song fits! Here are the lyrics, I really think this is a great song, I hope the Lexicon takes notice.

Right on! This Twilighter listens to A LOT of Metallica and yeah, Of Wolf and Man is the perfect song for Jacob. The song even refers to shape shifting which is what we find out in Breaking Dawn is what the wolves are actually doing. I also think Broken, Beat & Scarred and All Nightmare Long from the new Metallica CD, Death Magnetic, fit Jacob nicely too!
Wierder, still what Rap song are we going to get with Jess and Bellas car drive, and Bells Bobbing head(HeHe makes me LOL the image), I really could not picture any working in the perfect Twilight sound track, but we do still have musical genius behind our New Moon film!

All lovely songs, and all three from some extremely talented bands (also some of my favorites). The Unwinding Cable Car perfectly describes Bella, and the music is gorgeous. It happens to be my current favorite song. = ) Fix You, by Coldplay, has always been thought of as a B+J song, and I agree. And Say When, I love the song (as well as that whole album, it’s amazing!) but I’d never read the lyrics to really get to know what they were, and reading them just now proves that it really does define Bella and Jacob perfectly. Now, going a little off-topic, a wonderful Bella + Edward song is Inevitable, also by Anberlin. One song that comes to my mind, of which would be good not only in New Moon, but in Eclipse as well, is “Breath” by Breaking Benjamins. Not only is it a pretty awesome song all on its own, a LOT of people use it when they make Wolf’s Rain videos on Youtube. It has to be one of my favorite songs.
